[Q] How to return to stock AT&T E980AT from Korean F240S ?

Hi,
I am not sure if this question has been asked before as I could not find anything similar here. If it has already been asked, then I would request the moderators to please point me there.
I have an AT&T Optimus G Pro (E980). It was running the stock rom (AT&T E980AT V10g). I then flashed the value pack from AT&T (AT&T E980AT V10k) which I downloaded by following the download link provided in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438088
The flashing tool I used is the one that required the .tot file and the .dll file. Flashing was a success.
I found the value pack 10k to be laggy compared to the stock 10g. So, I wanted to try out a new rom and flashed a Korean one (SKT/SK TELECOM(KOREA) F240S V10w). I did that using the flash tool and the kdz file given in the same thread as stated above. Flashing was a success.
Now, I want to return again to the AT&T stock (AT&T E980AT V10g). But, when I am using the .tot file and the .dll file, the flashing tool is showing an error something about the device model being different and that I should check the .tot and .dll file. I cannot paste the exact error message right now as I am not at my desk but I can paste it later, if required.
Do I need to have a kdz file of the stock to carry out the flashing ? If yes, then where to find it as the stock firmware thread in this forum lists only the zipped up .tot for the AT&T stock rom.
Else, do I need a .dll for the F240S model and then use it along with the stock E980AT firmware to flash ? If yes, then where can I find the .dll file ?

Okay, I know exactly what your talking about!!, You have TWO Options!
1. (Easist) Change your Build Prop to be an E980 on your current rom and then try it
2. Flash the Telcel or Panama KDZ on your phone using LG Flashtools , and THEN flash the AT&T Version. That`s what I have had to do.

Hi,
Thanks for showing the way. I am currently on the Telcel rom and everything is working perfect, though I dislike the bloatware in this rom, be it as less as it is
I wonder if you can help with the following questions :
1) What is the difference between the Panama and Telcel (Mexico) Roms ? I assume both are based on E980H but Telcel should have more bloatware, as it is from a carrier. How much bloated is the Panama Rom ?

Panama rom is almost the same as Telcel's, but without the extra bloatware. I am definitely going to flash this one
2) I am from India. So I tried out flashing the India Rom (E988). Though the flashing was successful, there was no mobile operator network. Is this because of some baseband/modem mismatch issue ?
3) Would you happen to know which all roms are fully working on AT&T E980 devices that will work in India. I have tried out the Korean F240S and Telcel roms and both do work.

Well as for Living in India Flashing a local rom does not always mean it will be better. As the device you have is meant to be in America meaning the India rom is pretty much gonna have its issue. I only recomend the Telcel or panama roms for the E980

Its $16, but yeah, money grabbing frankly. If I get a chance I will go into a Vodafone UK shop and see if I can get the IMEI off of a G3. In theory that should allow someone to download it directly.

Yeah true. I did a bit of eBay'ing and I stumbled upon this seller who had his IMEI number in the picture.

hey guys. i'm a new comer to this forum and a i'm gonna root my lg g3 european version first in my life. so i don't have any experience about rooting the android mobile. so i came here to know something please give me a fully explainable thread about how how to root lg g3 european version. before i tried the purpledrake root method but it isn't work. after that when i install the supersu and then run it, it said an error like this "there is no any super user. " please let me know how to do this as a proper way thank you

You can downgrade to KitKat using this Stock unbranded UK KDZ below. Use CSE flash mode within LG Flash Tool 2014 to downgrade

It might be a good to start reading up about rooting your phone, look in the General forum for many usefull threads. XDA is not the place that is meant for spoonfeeding and roomservice If you have questions after that feel free to ask them but don`t expect others to solve your problem.

If it says 20a, that's a no go mate! You'll need to downgrade to KitKat first, then root, than you can have whatever you want.

If your model says D855, then the any EU firmwares should be OK, the Generic maybe? You won't find your 3 branded there.

Regardless which V20 - version you have now, just follow the guide and flash one with V10 (KitKat). If you don't see the 3 (three) version listed, go for the generic one (16GB or 32GB - whichever you have).
Once you have flashed V10, you can root it and go on...
However, if you feel uncomfortable with the process, or have never did it, or don't know exactly what you're doing, I'd suggest to get help from someone locally, who has experience mate!

There is difference as one is release 10A an d the other is release 10L, but for your purposes, it is irrelevant.

Hi, I'm from Romania and everytime I check for new firmware in settings it doesn't find anything. Has anyone updated his V490 to lollipop? Any idea how to get the kdz file to update manually?

try using lg pc suite.
to see if there a kdz for ur variant and country follow this link (but change "XXXX" to ur imei/csn, check it under settings/hardware info):

then follow the link below this line to download the kdz: <sw_url>

Thanks, for me shows version V49010B_00, so I guess I'll have to wait a little more because it's bought from Orange and it will surely take a long time. Can you provide the lollipop kdz link for your region so I could flash it manually?
