Hi guys, I face strange problem. In cm9 ROMs I have no issue with data connection but when I flash any stock ROM, I can't turn data on. GSM and SMS work well. Before flashing I always wipe and formate everything from previous ROM but still no success. Any idea?

Did you installed stock ROM from your region? Or did you pick from another country?

I tried my region stock ROM even other regions but still no data. All cm9 ROMs with no problem.
Edit: Problem solved. I flashed - [ROM][GB] Simplified GB with S3 Look V2 and after that stock ROM via CWM. Data started to run again.
Help needed

Hi
And 9 months later, i get the same problem.
Pls could you tell me more exactly how you fixed the mobile data? Sorry I'm newbie.
I run CM10 4.2.2 no probs,,but when i istall stock ROM for my gsw i cant get mobile data.
Please help, i want to get stock rom back.
I have an I747 on T-Mobile.
I recently installed SlimBean 4.3 on it, and it started up and worked fine. But when I went to restart it, it hung on the "SlimBean" screen. Never got to the bootanimation.
I read online that there's issues when coming from another 4.3 rom, and I had previously been running CyanogenMod 10.2, although it was a nightly and it crashed, corrupting my data. I decided not to try that again.
So after that experience with SlimBean, I tried to flash BeanStalk from the T-Mobile GS3 forum. This is also a 4.3 rom, and it ran fine on my I747, except when I went to reboot. It too hung on the logo.
And yes, I have wiped internal storage, and I'm running the latest version of TWRP. I even tried to flash Samsung's stock firmware with Odin, and it worked, but it wouldn't boot (or maybe I'm overestimating how quickly TouchWiz can boot). It overrode my recovery, like I was expecting, so I flashed TWRP with Odin and then proceeded to flash SlimBean 4.3 again. Same problem.
Does anyone have a solution to this? It's been driving me crazy. I will try some other 4.3 roms and see if they're all doing this.

I had something that sounds similar when I was trying to update from task's 4.2.2 to 4.3. Kept stopping at the kernel screen ( after the usual wiping of caches and system). Finally, someone recommended that, in addition to wiping data, that I format data as well. This basically wipes everything (i was using twrp 2.3.3.1). After doing this, I reinstalled the ROM and gapps and it works now.
Not sure this is what you experienced but it sounded similar. Before doing anything else, be sure that you have a back up and that you have removed any external sd card, should you have to go back. Good luck.

Yeah, I did that. I wiped everything I could and formatted data. Maybe I should try installing a different kernel?
With your issue, was it stopping on the first boot or did you get it running once then it stopped?

I had the same problem since 4.3 came out. It has to do with partition tables... What i've done to correct the problem:
- Odin back to stock
- Format entire phone. (Complete wipe) + Dalvik and cache
- Odin stock with root
- Replaced TWRP recovery for CWM
- Flashed 4.3 ROM and VOILA
- I have tried every 4.3 rom ever since with no problems
Don't (Complete wipe) with Twrp recovery, it seems to mess up the partitions.
Hope this works for you
Cheers

It loaded the first time and then rebooted, freezing on the kernel screen. I could get into recovery, and restore a previous ROM but it would hang up on 4.3. I described the steps I had taken when someone suggested reformatting data. I tried again and it is working now.
The method described in the other post may also solve your problem. I say that because I cannot update twrp to 2.6.1, at least via goo manager. I have not tried using Odin to update (yet).
I have this same as problem. It's annoying. I reflashed the rom 15 times yesterday. I'm gonna try and see if Deathstrings idea works.

This happened to me after I flashed back but formatting data got it to work (but I have had more problems with apps not installing properly but I learned how to deal with that...still cannot update TWRP via goo manager; waiting on trying it with Odin).
Hey guys=)
So yesterday i installed (after an EFS Backup) a 4.3 Custom Rom (JoelDroid) on my Galaxy NOte 2 N7100. It was on a rooted 4.1.2.
The rom booted everythign looked fine. I also wiped Data/factory resetted my device before i install the rom. But when i have to configure it the first time, it always crashed. So i made a full wipe and flashed the rom again (Philz touch btw the newst version). But the same thing again.
So i decided to flash a new ROM. Full reset, resetted caches and so on and the same problem again. My device boots up correctly but after 1minute or so it freezes completly. Cant press any buttons and so on.
The last try for me was to install a CM 10.2 (Asylum) version. This one is working properly. Had 1 or 2 crashes, but now its working fine.
But i dont want to lose the stock features.
Can anybody help me pls? What did i wrong? what do i have to do to get a proper functional MI6 4.3 rom on my N7100?
Thank you very much
Greets Marco
Have tried any other 4.3 rom? Steps u are following are absolutely correct btw..
If u using philz then u should choose the option "clean install befire a new rom" and manually format system, data, cahe and preload..this is a clean install.

Thanks for your reply!
Yes i used the option clean for New installation and i used 2 other 4.3 Roms too AS i mentioned. But at least i know now that my procedure was correct. Should i try another Rom? Or should i flash back to stock 4.2.2 (if its possible) via Odin?

ok it looks like that the Asylum CM 10.2 is also not working. Crashes after some time too (every 1-2 hours) :/ really need help guys!
EDIT:
Ok i installed Stock 4.1.2 ROM via ODIN and now everything's working fine again. I think i will stick to this for some time now (have a prerooted version so root still there)
Hello guys I just wanna inform you that there is something happening with the CM 11 4.4+ based ROMS
they deleted my Baseband and IMEI
I restored through KIES and got my Baseband and IMEI back but this thing keeps happening and I cannot figure out why?
It's painful procedure because I did this more then 10 times
First I had to Reflash everything through KIES which makes my phone as DEFAULT
then I had to ROOT and install the ROOTED Original 4.3 then I had to install Clockwork Mod with MOBILE ODIN in order for me to install different ROMS
after that I do FULL WIPE ALWAYS
Cache / Dalvik / Data / System even Internal Storage
I installed CM11 whatever ROM u choose:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453586 (tried this one no success)
Tried this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565259 again the same thing Bad baseband
Also this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2493905 OMNI Rom (first installed older version everything was fine but when It updated to the latest OMNI I got the same Unknown Baseband and no DATA whatsoever)
so what the heck is going on? Please help me?
recovery might be the issue
I just had this problem yesterday. You wouldn't happen to be using TWRP recovery would you? I found that if I was using TWRP and Kit Kat AOKP I would have no service and my APN list would be empty. If I used Philz Custom recovery or CWM it would work fine.
I tried going downloading the newest 2.6.3.1 version of TWRP and it made my phone unable to boot. I had to flash another recovery via Odin in order to get back into my phone.
Just a thought.
I've had this issue as well and for some reason the latest nightlies don't play nice with my phone and recovery I'm using the latest official twrp for t0lte. Not t0ltetmo. I recently tried fishing the last multi window and I lost my microphone use. I have since reverted to a homemade build from January.. It seems to be the only thing that works.

Guys I used both CWM and TWRP both the latest versions... and this thing happen during both tries... I don't think it's the Recovery!
Hi all, long time lurker and it's finally come to the point where I don't know what to do about my problem.
I've tried running multiple ROMs, CM10, CM11, AOSP, Carbon KK and for some reason, for each of these ROMs, the data doesn't seem to work. I have full reception and everything works well except I can't seem to get any sort of data transfer.
The only time the data works is when I restock the phone back to ATT I747 UCUEMJB stock ontop of installing the Modem CWM I747UCUEMJB.
I'm currently running AOSB Kitkat 1.2.9
Kernel version 3.4.79-cyanogenmod-g29c22cf
Modem CWM I747UCUEMJB
Any thoughts on how I can fix this data problem?
I am also facing this problme. I have only one ROM with working data is unified version for S3 of Illusion Rom. On SCH-R530U

So I actually got it working and it was a weird fix... I've been using ATT_I747_UCUEMJP_StockRestore_2282014.zip to bring it back to stock and then using the rooting system from that stock rom.
My friend suggested to try using another root, so I brough it back to CF-Autoroot and it works. Not sure why... but maybe give it a try if your using that stock rom?
