I downloaded the roam control trail and it does not work for me. I was wondering is there a way around it or a rom that I can use to control my roam?
I have sprint and I am losing bars and reception in my own home and work place. I understand I can use a airwave, but I do not care for sprint having access to my internet. Work its impossible since its work... verizon is very strong in the area. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I too am having service latency and I installed roam control and when activate, screen is bland until the application closes unexpectedly. I am on PA rom and that may be a reason but I am looking for a force roam solution that works on the Sprint G2
Anyone? Having more and more spotty service. Would like his also. Will keep looking. Hopefully find something.

Is there any way I could get my phone to use Verizon towers instead of the Sprint ones? Where I live there are only Verizon towers, the closest Sprint one is like 50 miles away. And what is the problem with using Verizon PRL's? Please help....
There's no problem at all: http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=696073
Thanks for the quik reply. But the link is not working, it says error 404...
There is a Market app, Roam Control for voice roaming, but if you want 3g data roaming you need to see Technofile's how to thread in the development section, should be on the first or second page.
Hey... This thing makes phone calls too!
On my epic 4g I used roam control.
I was able to roam on verizon and still get 3g. I know I was getting 3g also because in certain spots I would only get 1xrtt.

I found several options that I thought would force roaming, but it never seemed to work.
I was at a lakehouse recently where sprint coverage was present, but weak, but my buddy's droid 1 (VZ) was solid. I thought I could force myself on Verizon, but wasn't able to.
Is this easily doable through software? Or did I just dream all this up?

Roam Control works for voice, but for data, it only allows 1x speeds. To get full 3g speeds while roaming, you need to flash the Verizon PRL.
im having same problem, when im on sprint signal 3g and 4g works fine, but when i roam im just getting 1x speed before i rooted my phone i had 3g speed while roaming but on the other roms i have tried only 1x,
is there a fix for this?
update: i flashed back to the original stock rom that i had backed up and im getting 3g speeds while roaming so I know it cant be a prl issue it has to be a flaw in peoples roms? can anyone confirm a actual rom that has 3g speed while roaming????
Alright so Roam Control does not work on my galaxy nexus for sprint. When I'm at my friends house, I literally show no bars and it still won't auto roam. Is there any way to force it into roam like I could on my evo 3D via roam control?

This may be a long shot but have you rebooted? I think I've answered the "Force roam" question before and a simple reboot was the culprit.
Secondly, are you rooted? it's a requirement.

Yes I'm rooted. I'll try doing it and then a reboot
Does not work.
I second
Roam Control 2.2 does not work with the Galaxy Nexus. A huge blow, and now I am considering going back to my Nexus S more than ever.... Any updates on this, or is it even being worked on? My 14 day window is closing fast... Thanks

That's a real bummer, seeing that RC won't work w/ Sprint GN. RC is a lifesaver at times.
Any other solutions for rooted phones?
Have you guys tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660740
Works like a charm for me. Update PRL to get back on Sprint.
Can anyone point me to the files that control the Mobile Network Settings > System Select options? I want to see about moving the ones from CM9 over to AOKP because I can't get them to stick after selecting Auto: Domestic Roaming. I need the ability to roam especially at home where I get horrible Sprint reception and need to roam to get less crappy Verizon reception. Without the ability to roam I end up with the little x over my bars and no service. I don't know if it is possible to do but I thought I would try, I just need a little help pointing me in the right direction to know what files to mess with. Thanks in advance.
Just for good measure I am using CM9 Alpha 6 and want to fix the issue with Chris41g's AOKP ROM. That ROM with his kernal is giving me amazing battery life.

I was just curious what the difference was between these 2 apps and if someone had tried both, which they thought was better and why. What are key differences in the features and options?
Wow I never even noticed that lol. Roaming Control has a trial though, I might check that out.
Roam control lets you manually pick whether or not you want your phone to roam at any moment in time (Switch from sprint to roaming at free will)
Roaming control lets you choose what connections are allowed (phone, data, etc) when your phone automatically roams on its own. (no choice what connection your phone picks up - just what services to allow it to use once it connects)

I ended up buying roam control also. I'm headed to the cabin this weekend and we have crap for sprint service there. I'm willing to give it a try, if it doesn't help I always have the 7 day window to refund it.
I'd highly recommend Roam Control. As has been stated, you can force roam on Verizon whenever you desire. I used to use it in class many times where I had zero Sprint coverage. Just be careful with roaming usage.
Roaming Control does not work on lollipop.
