I saw on fatwallet ebay has a knockoff for $10 with free shipping and then another guy posted one for under $2. Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these click buttons yet

Looks interesting. But reviews are so-so for it. A fair number of people find it buggy.
bought one for my nexus 5, let see how it will work.
It's very interesting idea to get extra button, hopefully it will work as a power button.
I like it but when I have it plugged in, the device thinks it's headphones so when I call is incoming I get no audio unless I put it on speaker. Haven't had a chance to look into a solution other then use that Pressy/Klick application.

ok so lately i notice the headphone becoming... sucky! and i have a lot of headphones for motorola and other cells around the house but they wont work on my dash. is there any headphones that works well with the dash?
You can get a $3-5 adapter from places like ebay and amazon that will let you plug normal headphones into the HTC jack.
Hey, I ordered one of these recently. Actually, my s620 still hasn't come, but that's another story. My accessories will be here on time.
I think I decided that this was the cheapest one that shipped from within the U.S.
http://www.handhelditems.com/touch-p3450-stereo-headset-speaker-adaptor-p-14874.html
It was $5.84 shipped.
edit: i just realized you might be looking for something with a mic? the one I linked to is just to plug in 3.5mm headphones.

oh yeah i ment with mic btw i was lookin for this too and this is the cheapest one i seen :-D thanks alot! but with mic if you can find me some i be happy..
Sorry about that. I missed that you wanted a mic. I've never been able to use those wired headsets. They won't stay in my ears. I'd much rather use my own headphones and go bluetooth for talking.

DroidX on (back-)order. Coming from the iPhone to the DroidX (will be SO GLAD to be off of ATT!). The one thing I'm not sure I'll be able to live with regarding the droid, is having to carry around headphones seperately. :S
I am a HEAVY Pandora/Last.FM/(etc.) listener...
Does anyone know of cases for the DroidX that will hold headphones? Example from the iPhone:
(Ughh, can't post links. to see example, go to cyberguys dot com, and search for "wrap case iphone").
Perhaps another option would be to find a pair of a2dp phones or something that are convenient to carry some other way. :S But not the same. Any suggestions for good stereo bluetooth headphones with a mic for the phone?
Anyone have suggestions or thoughts regarding solutions to make the transition to DroidX easier?
TIA!
*Note: ughh, I'm a new member, so I can't post links.
Im doing the same thing but i came from iPhone to the samsung captivate and then returned that to go for the droid x. Mine isnt supposed to come til the end of the month so its gonna be a long wait til then haha. As for a case that could hold headphones im not sure BUT maybe if there is like a side holster case for the Dell streak the extra space might be able to fit some headphones in it. (not exactly sure how much larger the streak is as a awhole though)
You should try grooveshark too while you're at it.

Grooveshark is AWESOME!
I have found it wonky sometimes though. When going through a playlist, sometimes songs are unavailable (?), and it just stops playing...
Only happened a couple times, but I have only created one punk/ska playlist, and keep going back to it...
Now, just need a way to listen to it from work (via headphones)... preferrably without having to keep my headphones loose in my pocket. :S If only someone made a case that holds the headphones...

The Motorokr S9-HD is an excellent stereo bluetooth headphone that also has an embedded microphone for phone calls. The sound quality is great for listening to music, and phone calls are clear on both ends of the connection. Just my $0.02...
I've been trying to find an adapter that will let me use my old wireless 2.5mm plantronic headset that I like with the Evo. It's mono, so it's not that critical that the jack pass stereo audio.
I actually went ahead and ordered one of these from Amazon. It's got the 3 ring 3.5mm plug. My headset only has two rings. Not sure that it matters.
Then I started looking around ebay and Meritline, and I'm still not sure what solution will work properly. I'm thinking I'll get another one or two for my bag or my car if I can find one that works.
I've ordered a lot of cheap stuff from Meritline with no problems, and their free shipping is always nice. This is what they show. I was thinking this or this, both 2 ring adapters.
Any feedback on exactly what will work with an EVO?
Thanks.
Radioshack sells them..they're like 5$.

Got one for $3. Didn't work. I can hear through it, but the mic doesn't pass.
And the $6 one I ordered from Amazon didn't work with the same results.
I think Amazon also has Headset Buddy adapters. Maybe those will work, but I think they were nearly $10. Getting to new headset territory prices.
I was looking at this today, and even though it didn't specifically say the captivate is supported, I went ahead and bought it. It looked like it used the same basic plug most microphone equipped headphones use, but I can't get the button or microphone to work. It does work with an iphone, so I know (the button at least) does work. Does anyone have any ideas on this, or experience with this product?
Thanks

Fair enough...
This is the actual products website:
griffintechnology.com/products/hands-free-microphone
These websites list it and list many more supported device, including the captivate (I know this doesn't change the manufacturer's supported devices):
daydeal.com/product.php?productid=41989&cat=5127
yourwirelesssource.com/buy/accessories/cat/1005/model/1005_302888/accessory/908642
I am not actually able to post links but these should get you there.

The compatibility page lists only a few android phones and leaves many older and newer ones that you expect to work - it lists the Cliq, but not the Droid or any other Moto phone - nothing recent either.
So I would say it just won't work - I can't tell you why - the factory headphones that come with the captivate have a similar design - 4 conductors, mic and button, but maybe the headset jacks are looking for a different impedance.
whatever the reason, I don't think you will find an easy solution.
Thanks for the response, I had pretty much decided to return it already. I did actually pull out a multimeter to check the rings, and found out something I hadn't realized before. That the button isn't a direct on/off switch, which goes along with what your thoughts were about the impedance.
I've had an idea for this exact product (more or less) for a little while now, and thought it was great to see it in store. Maybe I can cannibalize a pair of earbuds and attach a male end to the other side.
I've been using the OEM headset that came with this phone and for one they are quite good for headphones that come with the product.
My question is does anyone know the controls for the headset? So far from using it I know that the main button pressed once is for mute/play/answer calls and if you double press it quickly it will skip to the next track (but you have to do it correctly or sometimes it won't do anything ).
Anyone else know the other control settings?
that's pretty much it AFAIK
if there are other features, then i've not used it that far
Wow, these are surprisingly very good headphones, and the controls actually work.
Thanks man, totally forgot we even got headphones with our phones.
Btw, if you hold down the top side of the "clicker thing", it raises volume slowly, if you hold the bottom end it lowers it. not the best control, but its in addition to what you think we had.
yes, i was very surprised this time as well, being a long time Samsung customer, this is the first time they packed in Quality Premium headphones with their phones
the previous Nexus S & i9000 came with the usual crappy stuff

yea, my Samsung Vibrant came with reaaaalllyyy bad headphones (iphone type, basically, maybe even worse) so I didn't even look to check if there were headphones with the GS2
this is great news for me, i've been trying to replace my last ear buds and my latest purchase were these over ear Sony MDR V6s. they are AWESOME headphones but my first pair of quality over ears, and they might be a bit over doing it for what I need 'phones for, so I was gonna return them and get some earbuds again.
lucky for me i saw this topic and discovered we have decent earbuds with the phone + the controls are just an added bonus.

So far we can change the volume, answer/end calls, skip a song.
Anything else (playback a song with 3 clicks?)? Also, does anyone find the controls to be spastic at times (sometimes they work correctly, other times it lags a bit)?
is there the same functionality with headsets made for iphones (but not made from apple)? i have a really good set of sony's that fit my ears better than the ones that came in the box.
Damn my phone box did not had any headphones nor it mentions it on the box

Thanks for the info on double click and volume control (I'll have to try that). I've seen people complain about the headphones, but I was quite happy with them. The noise canceling is quite powerful as I can't hear much of anything else when I've got them on. I'm not used to $200+ headphones, so perhaps my standards are low, but I've been very happy with them.
help needed!!!!!!!!!
hello everyone..
my problem is my rabit, i put my headset on the table and i went out. whn i came back my headset was in several pieces, my rabit eaten it up.. all i want to say.. from where can i have the orignal samsung sgs2 headset.. i cant find them here in my country (pakistan) sadly..
can anyone help me in that case..????
Any handsets ordered after dec 12th from tmobile (i.e. the white galaxy s2) will not receive the headsets.
Its really stupid as I didn't get one
HTC 3-button buds work...
interesting behavior: the + and - raise/lower volume in the stock music app! And the middle button does the usual play/pause/answer shtick.

1. is this with an htc phone or the hercules?
2. are these just any old oem htc earbuds i could buy on ebay?
Lol at the rabbit.
its time to eat it mate.
They are on ebay everywhere, and rather cheap.
Got my phone on valentine's day, did even come with a headset... USB cable and that was that. Picked up a cheap'o at Wallymart... works fine.
First time, long time...Lurking for a while, not posted until now...
Anyway, my phone came with nothing but the wall charger and cable - maybe some booklets. I got my junk at T-Mobile and I asked about headphones. The chick there said it didn't come with any...But because she had a nice rack I just went with it and here I am. Looking at ROMS, but wandered into this section and thought I would throw in my 2 bits.
I have been using the headphones that came with my Sony MP3 player and they sound ok. I bet some quality ear buds would do my ears justice but I am too cheap and my ears are too deaf. Maybe in the future, we'll see.
these headphones sound great but mine already broke. there is chord stress around the connector and now i only get sound out of one earpiece and not both. great sound but not very durable.

Doesnt anyone of you guys have your ears hurted after using this headset? My ears felt stress out after using it for only 1 hour.
