Alright guys/gals.My question here is this.Using unvevoked3 and not updating to the new OTA update is okay? I'm still having problems with sync not syncing? Thats cause i have not updated yet. Will my phone be alright without the update even though i want it..I cant seem to update it to my evo.Either no one helps or its not in plain English for some of us that dont have the experience rooting or unrooting.
What do you all think? Anyone in the same boat as me.? They say put the file on your sdcard root file.Where in the hell is that?
**** does happen and im in deep **** without the update.
Ok this should be easy. If u are unrevoked and u are full rooted running a custom Rom then just flash the update. There should be a post with the zip that u can flash in recovery to apply the update. If not then just wait for your custom Rom to be updated to the next version with will be surely base on the latest ota. Like u said it's def.ly not a big deal.
BUT:
If u are running stock or want to remain on a stock Rom just flash the rooted 2.2 base on the new OTA, Can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789913
Edit: came across this, should help you also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790394

hmm
I have that update on my computer already. Then they say to put in in your sdcard root.I don't know how to find that. I'm using revoked 3, stock Rom I'm sure. Clockwork mod is installed. Please help. Instructions does not help me much. How do I just flash it.

Ok if u have it on your SD then that's easy providing that u got clockwork mod or another custom recovery. Just boot your phone into recovery, I use quickbot. U can also use Rom manager to boot your phone into recovery and also flash a clockwork recovery . Once in recovery just go to flash update from zip, then select the zip(should be the one on your sd) confirm and then reboot. You're done.
Edit:
Putting it on the root of your sd simply means drag and drop it to the main folder on your sd card, where u see all the other files and folder. Just open up your sd card in a browser(double click removing disk from my computer) and also the folder on the computer where u have the file. Then drag and drop it on your sd card. Where u dropping the files is the root of ur sd, hope this helps.

Get to SD root - connect your EVO to your PC through USB and mount it through disk drive from the notification bar then drag your update file onto the SD card, i.e. on my windows laptop, root would be the window "Computer->Removable Disk (G: )
To flash - power off then hold vol down + power button to get into hboot and then select recovery. once there, select flash zip from sd card and select your update file. let it finish and you should be able to reboot into the updated rom.
*quick boot is an app from the market that allows you to easily reboot into recovery for rooted phones

Michael this is an invalid file name. U do not have to rename or alter any thing with the update file. The file is already a zip file so the extension is already a .zip file. Any file that is zip will always be for example 'filename.zip'. you adding a .zip to the file name will make the file unacceptable as there is no .zip.zip file. Just leave the original file you downloaded as is. Once in recovery you can then follow the same steps you mentioned. Go to choose zip from sd card,u will see the zip file on the sd,select it then confirm and install. U should be fine if u follow these steps.

Just for the record... On Windows boxen, the default options for your filemanager,
is: Hide extensions for known filetypes
Translated:
If windows shows the correct icon for the file, it knows what type of file it is, and therefore will hide it's extension - in your case; .zip
Stupid, I know (Windows).
So, when you see the file "Update", and it shows an icon indicating that windows knows it's a .ZIP file. You will know that the filename is actually:
Update.zip - not just "Update" as you see in filemanager.
Bottom line; file has the correct icon in filemanager, it's extension hidden.
File has a generic icon, then file is unknown, and probably shows it's extension.

What rom are you on?
If you are on stock, you could extract the system/app folder from the ftf file, make a flashable zip from it and flash the folder back via CWM.
If you are on a custom rom, flash the rom again without clearing data.
Don't forget to make a nandroid in case anything goes wrong

I'm dont think im using custom rom, I just rooted my phone with the help of this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683957).
How do I do that?
Download the ftf file for your phone from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314
You can extract the ftf file with winrar or 7zip.
Then use the Xperia ROM Manager to convert sin to img and then unpack system.img.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952732
When you've unpacked the system.img you can drag the contents of the app folder into the update.zip, copy the update.zip to your sd card and enter CWM to flash it.
http://www.mediafire.com/?1268g66o25ehqkm
Use this app to install CWM to flash the zip.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.CWMinstaler&hl=nl
When your device starts booting, keep hitting the volume down button until you get into cwm.
Then select "apply update from sd card" with the volume keys and press it with the home key.

I got both Xperia M & M dual System dump, checked the files that you changed but the file size is exactly same, don't know why
btw i took the files from M dual & made a flashable zip
hope it helps you...

The problems you are facing are due to copying SS files to the DS. You will need to copy the DS files to your system to get it working again. Personally I'd say it is mainly the framework but replace all of the files you have copied over now what are from the SS with the DS files.

Even though i copied all the original files as it is my phone is not going back to normal??
One thing i notices is that whenever i copy/pasted any file into /System folder it used to display Android is Upgrading during startup, But its not displaying any such msg now...
and my phone is not mounting SDCARd or internal storage,I can only access them using root explorer in /Storage folder.
Now i think i need to flash the whole firmware..

Hello,
My huawei p6(international version) failed to update to KK 4.4 from B132 JB 4.2.2.
Here's the reason:
E:Error executing updater binary in zip/external??
Error flashing zip ' /external_sd/dload/B510.zip'
FAILED
Anyone had this issue ?
I'v tried all the options what are around the web.
Any other suggestions?
You can't flash official rom in zip file.Unpack zip, folder dload copy to ext. card and than flash rom with stock recovery.

It seems like you've put the zip file directly into your SD card, you have to extract the folder named "dload" and then put it in the root directory of the SD card.

Where in your SD card are you putting the dload folder with the update.app file?
So you have to rename B510.zip to update.zip and then put the zip onto your sd card in a folder called dload, after that just use local update or force update via the three button method.

I'm no expert, but I think he has to unpack the update.app file, put it inside a folder named "dload" and then move that folder into the root directory of the SD card. I don't think the system can read the zip file directly.

Normally this would be right but it's an OTA update so it has to be a zip.
