First of all, why did you do that? And second, try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2740469

Hey All,
I'm new to the S3 from the E4GT. On the E4GT we were plagued with the infamous brick bug so we had to take extra precautions while flashing. I know these are two diff phones/kernels et al. but was wondering if there was anything that has been discovered like the brick bug that we should be aware of before flashing? Need to go to a safe kernel/safer recovery/only flash during the full moon etc...
Like I said, new to the S3; please be gentle, I have a fragile psyche. :cyclops:
thx
Don't flash international mods or roms.

What he said.. I am not aware of the EMMC bug on these. Just be careful and verifiy model number before flashing (most everything in this tread should be safe) and welcome. I came from the Touch as well.
Nope no Emmc brick bug on this phone. Only way to brick your phone is to flash a rom meant for another phone or a another s3 variant and international rom

All good news; thanks guys.
now to start shopping for that perfect ROM.....
I have a Galaxy Note 3 from T-mobile and I have heard Galaxy S5 is coming out soon next year. If I flash Galaxy S5's stock rom on to my note 3, which they both run snapdragon 800 processor, will I brick my device? I am curious because they run the same hardware except for the camera.
Ummm..... Seriously?

If you find a S5 ROM, please share...
Either way, you can't just straight flash another phone's ROM to your phone, doesn't matter if it is the same SoC or not, still different parts, etc...DO NOT FLASH ROMS NOT MADE FOR YOUR DEVICE. YOU WILL BRICK.

Sammobile found a test firmware for the Galaxy S5, but they did not share it to the public yet because it is too early and device hasn't been released yet. I will post the link later if it comes out. Thank you so much!!

Why would you post it to the Note 3 forum? Belongs in the Galaxy S5 forum as it is not usable on the note 3.
Again, this is a Virgin Mobile edition. Kinda confused about the whole Knox thing specifically.

If you plan on using KitKat, yes, that will make things a whole lot easier. Knox doesn't effect anything unless you are planning on sending it back to Samsung for a warranty claim... Sprint and it's subsidiaries don't care. There is a thread called Knox and You in the General section if you would like to read up on it.

Thanks. I do plan to use CM11, so I'm gonna go ahead and get the OTA updates before flashing it.

your one of the few people who got the NJ3 update....and Ryan is wrong this time you have the regular L710 NJ3 will be going out to Virgin and Boost S3's that aren't the T model...but i would still try PhilZ to see if that will root your phone and if that doesn't work flash PhilZ again but then flash this http://download.chainfire.eu/642/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.41.zip
So I was plagued with the task of rooting an s3...
I managed to root and flash twrp. However I want to make sure before I flash a rom. Is the bootloader locked on NJ1 firmware?
SANSUNG-SGH-I747
VERSION 4.4.2
I747UCUFNJ1
it's probably been asked already but I haven't been able to find an answer. Thanks
The bootloader cannot be locked if the phone was successfully flashed with twrp.
The bootloader on the att s3 has never been locked, unlike many other phones from att.

Awesome thanks! Would you happen to have any insight on why the phone would be stuck in factory mode? And would flashing a new rom take it out?
What do you mean by factory mode? What message appears on screen when you boot the phone?

You have the international version of the s3? The North America version is either i747 or i747m?
