[Q] Kernel for Note 2 - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys. I have few questions about some new kernel for my Note 2. Mainly I'm talking about the quality of sound from the speaker after installing a new custom rom. On the original ROM from Samsung all sounds are clean and at the right level (i mean ringtones etc.) After installing custom rom ringtones are a little quieter and the sound is not so good. At first I thought that it is the fault of the rom, but same is in every other rom like CM , OMNIROM and now im on the C-ROM. Can someon can help me ? If I change the kernel it can be better?
And last question which kernel can be best for C-ROM and my Note 2 ?
Cheers!

[Q] PARANOIDANDROID or HyperNote

Hello everybody,
I actually have Omega 6 with RedPill Kernel on my note but I want something even much cleaner.
So I selected two ROMs : PARANOIDANDROID and HyperNote.
The first is an AOSP Rom; It really changes everything.
The others is a very clean version of stock rom.
What I want is a very clean rom but the most stable as possible. Also I don't know if the multi-window is possible on an AOSP rom, and I want to keep it. It would also be good if I can install the samsung and google apps I want easily.
What do you think is the best for me ?
Sorry for my english, and thanks for your help.

If u will install for ex. cm11 u will be forced to use cm11 kernel aswell, so changing kernel to stock on any custom 4.2+ is impossibru i think
i need best rom about battery life thank's
I install many ROM's and stopped at AOSP
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) [4.4.2]
Beatiful ROM. Very clean & smooth.
Resurrection Remix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2688432
is smooth sailing, with max CPU freq. of 600MHz, and abyssplug governor, as well as deepest sleep state 5, you should get very good battery life. With moderate use (no games, just 2D apps and music), mine lasts 22 hours.
Cyanogenmod 10.2
I'm using Cyanogenmod 10.2 works very well. Only thing is some videos wont play with the default player but play fine with MXPlayer. Not sure why videos wont play or wont show in thumbnail in gallery, otherwise fine. Thinking of getting CM11.

I like 10.2 by tc. Tried out cm11 by tc didn't like it. Didn't like the dialer you can't change lock screen wallpaper I wasn't getting caller images in notifications and it felt slower. Gone back to CM10.2. Probably try again when they've finished it.

try zwiliew's kernel.
it has good governors
Is CM 11 working well? i'm on CM 10.2 and in my opinion runs great, but sometimes has problems with memory management.
The 2 best roms are CM10.1 (2013-12-13) and Omni rom 4.4
Both are fast, smooth and stable. Omni has the best battery like since it has less features. CM10.1 has a Low in call bug soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo =p
If you're and Instagram user and you upload videos omni and other 4.4 roms won't do but CM10.1 will do

Question | Best ROM for Note2 (N7100)

Hello Everyone,
Since I am a newbie and dont have much knowledge about it , Please advice what is the difference between kernel and a ROM . Also please advice which is the best lolipop ROM for Galaxy Note 2 tried CM11 snapshot from cyanogenmod. Faced some problems with it :
GPS Sync Issues
Noice Cancellation Microphone is not working
Ringer/Media volume is low
Camera does't respond most of the times
Have tried increasing the sound by editing a text file {Didn't remember the name} . It was a system file. but the speaker is giving cracking sounds . So No go situation.
Please advice which ROM should I use and which kernel { If required to be changed} . Currently I am on stock kikat with root capabilities.
Thanks .
The best rom for your phone is a 4.4.4 rom (note 4)which is basely more compatible than a cm 11 or 5.1 rom.(options: floating windows, toolbox)
The best kernel is Agni 4.4.9 with many options like: quicker load via usb, louder sound via speakers or earphone adjustability, governor and overclocking etc.
I've been on DN4 since its early days. It's stable and doesn't lag. I've tried other note 4 ROMS but always come back to DN4. There's enough information on XDA to solve any problems you may encounter. Give it a go!

Finding a ROM

Hi guys, it's my first post here, so sorry if I will wrong the section.
So, I have a lot of problems with my Note II: slowdowns, "the process has been stopped", etc.. :crying:
I would like a rom stable!! The most important thing is stability, fewer bugs possible, and with the Note features...
Who help me?
Eclipse Rom is what i recommend

Do you wish a stock rom , A custom rom ?? .
If you took the first option then i'd recommend KitKat with Nadia custom kernel , i've used it , it's good .
If the second choice is your preference then first i'd suggest you read about how these things work and how they are installed , the custom recovery . etcetera ,before taking any step through the process
Then and this is an important approach : Focus on the model of your phone and be careful , flashing the wrong ROM might mess with the soft of your device , and you won't like it trust me .
and good luck
Any cyanogenmod ROM should be fine.

...he wants the Note features, including spen! No way to have this features in an acceptable way on any kind of rom except those one TW based. So he can decide to stay on pure stock, maybe rooted, debloated and xposed or on some Note 3, 4 etc port - or simple reinstall his updated stock rom if he doesn't want to mess around.
If you bought a Note I suppose it is for the S Pen (on my N3 I coutend 3000 charging and 2600 spen in/out), otherwise any S series would be fine, and speed and rock solid CM would be a good choice - obviously if you don't use the pen a Note is a S...
