Hi guys,
sorry if it's a noobish question or has been asked before.
I have a LG E988 and updated my stock LG firmware to Cyanogenmod 11 M6 snapshot version for E980. It works in every aspects, except of 3G. However I try to assign my 'Preferred network type' to '3G', it only works on LTE network.
It seems like it's missing the 'driver' or firmware for 3G modem. Is it possible?
Thanks for help.

I am running m6 and selecting the 3g network works fine. I think LTE can also be toggled in the quick settings panel, perhaps you could try and turn it off from there.

I tried that (I am aware that there is a 'mobile network' on off switch AND there is the 'LTE' on off switch), not working. I even tried the "*" *4636*"*"* method of preferred network, no luck.
Could it be because this edition is aimed at LTE or this is ridiculous? Or is it a possibility that my model is E988 not the 980?
SOLVED
Thanks guys, it is solved now.
My dearest Service Provider, Telenor Hungary has a dual APN settings: 'hypernet', which apparently provides LTE only, and normal 'net', which is a 2G-3G-LTE solution.
Strange.
Thx for the help, though.

I bought an E975 on ebay but the seller sent me a F180L instead. I wanted to return it but then read that i can convert it to an E975.
I flashed the E97510d rom for Poland to change the language to english and flashed the F180L modem/radio on top.
I get good reception but the internet is very slow. In my network settings im only getting option to choose between GSM and WCDMA.
Is there a way to enable HSPDA like on the internation E975? The frequency my local carrier uses is 900/2100.
If someone has had a similar issue and can help me please reply
Why did you opened a new thread, since we already had one opened with the same issue? Not to mention there you already have the solution?
OMG.

My issue is enabling HSPDA, i already have WCDMA and working radio. Is there a fix for that already because i read all the threads and could find it.
Since you are in a total blank, let me clarify something for you.the speed you provided here(384k) is EDGE and it has nothing to do with WCDMA,which IS 3G HSPA.Your carrier uses this standard(UMTS 900/2100) or WCDMA.
My guess you don't have the correct apn settings.
And again, the solution was already given in the other thread. If you can't read, not my problem.

I meant what i said, i am connected to WCDMA and not edge and the speed is around 350k max. secondly the apn is correct as i get about 4mb on my O2x with same APN. And i the solution in other threads is to enable non working radio/modem. I clearly mentioned i have working radio and just need HSPDA enabled instead of WCDMA. No need to be rude

it does not, i guess i'll just flash the hong kong or Eur rom instead of the poland one and try
Well, you messed up your phone and i'm rude...right ..
Select first option in network menu and reboob.
If it still doesn't work, you need F180 modem.

WCDMA encompasses all 3g. There is no separate setting for HSDPA.

Hi guys, I'm the owner of the LG E980 by AT&T. I'm using it with the Telcel provider in Mexico, and i just can't change the network between 2g, 3g and 4g, or cdma and lte.All the time seems work on 4g or LTE mode. I've tried using the option in the dialer *#*#4636#*#* but in this options doesn't exist any option to switch this kind of networks. I wish any of you guys could help me. Thanks.

AT&T Likes to lock that kind of thing down. Telcel is not cdma I think you mean WDCMA which is 3G.
Anyway if You have a PC and some good computer skills check out my thread to flash the Telcel rom on your E980 and the option under mobile networks is there and working thats the rom I use on my AT&T E980

I made a guide in the general section on how to enable LTE, check it out here, and see if it works for you.
Hi,
I am having an Indian LG E988 so, as per LG it does not support 4G. But here is my dilemma:
1. I am using a 4G SIM on my phone and till say a month back CM 12.1 nighly were working normally. But after downloading the nighly around a week earlier - I found that the phone no longer connects to any network - be it 3G/2G or 4G.
2. Then I switched to Slimrom. Now it shows the 4G Network as well as connects to the 4G Network (it shows LTE in status bar, so assuming it is actually connects to 4G, plus during the manual search of networks it shows 3 Networks - assuming one is for 2G, one for 3G and one for 4G).
But there is a catch - every time I restart the phone - I need to manually select the etwork - does any one know any workaround to avoid this?
Also, at the same time it is really strange why the hell LG disabled LG in the Inian moel when hardware is already there!!!

But how can it detect another network? Apart from 2G and 3G?
my g4 can't seem to achieve H+ connection even if it is available in my area.
my phone could only connect with H.
is this normal or is there something wrong with my phone or its settings?
