Hi,
I have been trying to root my Galaxy Tab 3 8" using the CF Autoroot method (CF-Auto-Root-lt01wifi-lt01wifixx-smt310), I have followed the instructions, i have enabled USB Debugging and so on. Autoroot seems to flash ok (odin shows RESET! after flashing), the device resets and goes into the recovery mode where it seems to root ok, but once back into the device there is no supersu installed. I have tried this 5 or 6 times now with the same result.
I have rooted other devices before with little problem, but this just has me stumped.
Thanks for any help
Wolf.

Download and install super su from playstore .
If you still don't have root you can install PhilZ Touch Recovery and flash SuperSU

Having same issue with SGH-T889. Any help? Heard of similar issue with Nexus 4. They have revert recovery disabler. Not tried on my Note 2. Is similar solution available for T889?
After flashing recovery in Odin are you booting up the phone (or is odin - i.e. auto reboot is checked)? There is a file (/system/etc/install-recovery.sh) that you need to disable to have recovery "stick". There are a few ways to do this, but my preference has been to do it within cwm/twrp recovery via adb after flashing in odin but prior to first bootup of phone.
Hope that helps!
Ive had luck un-checking auto-reboot in odin, flashing recovery, wait for it to say pass, unplug USB, pull battery, and boot straight into recovery by holding home + vol up when powering on.
This can be dangerous so make sure odin is completely done before unplugging.

I know you can't access CWM Recovery..
Allot of us use TWRP Recovery and it works great. I think it is safe to say it is a Superior Recovery now. I suggest you use that Recovery.
You can get it installed easily by downloading GooManager from the play store, opening the app, hit your menu button and tap Install Open Recovery Script. That's it. Quick and easy!
For the people having a hard time, are you rooted? If you are just download goomanager and use it to install twrp

Finally got fixed
I tried by un ticking the "Reboot" in Odni and manually pulled out battery and cable and tried Recovery mode... it went smoothly as expected... thanks dude
This works when everything else fails!

Been looking for a solution for hours and the android system recovery was feeling like a thorn in the foot that will never go away. But surprise, surprise, your simple suggestion did the trick!
Thanks a ton!! :good:
Hello everyone,
I'm relatively new at rooting and just so happen the note 10.1 2014 is my first guinea pig.
First off, I have successful rooted my note via Odin 3.09 with CF-autoroot with autorootp600mj4.tar.md5 and stockrecoverymj4.tar.md5. Rootchecker shows that it's rooted.
Next I installed Titanium backup and back up and then uninstall all 5 files of Knox securities.
Next I installed GooManager and installed TWRP from OpenSourceRecovery option and then rebooted with recovery.
So now is where the problem starts. Whenever I tried rebooting into recovery, I keep getting the Android recovery system (with red triangle sign and a laying down android picture).
Here's some method that I did to try and fix this.
1. Manually reboot recovery ( Did not work) goes into Android recovery system again.
2. I reinstalled TWRP again using GooManager, still doesn't work.
3. Downloaded the appropriate TWRP .tar files for Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 from TWRP main site and flash with Odin. I got a Pass!. Then when I do a reboot recovery, it goes into the Android recovery system again.
So far I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've checked to make sure every step is correct, especially when I was rooting (E.g. making sure USB debugging is enabled, open source is enable, and so on)
I've tried to find my solution via google but to no avail. If you have any suggestions, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.:good:
I had same issue. You have to install it with Odin.

Simply flash via Odin, but untick " Auto Reboot " within odin before flashing.
Reboot manually into recovery , you will get a permanent TWRP
Got it
Thank for reassuring me that it can be done.
I found out the problem. The tar files from TWRP that I donwloaded was the wrong version. TWRP version was openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-lt03wifiue.img. And I used that to flash on Odin and it worked thereafter. I hope this will help other people who have similar issues.
Hi
I followed this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33278472&postcount=2
I downloaded Odin3-v1.85.zip and 2013.05.20 --- CF-Auto-Root (root package)
ran odin
click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
put note II in download mode (volume button, home, power)
click start
wait a couple secs
odin says pass
phone reboots and then does some more rooting stuff and reboots again
runs root checker and shows its not rooted
help???
I just use CyanogenMod Installer and it's easy as cake! Plus you can also have a TW rom ready to go if TW is what you want

I had to use this method a few days ago and I got it to work with the latest Odin3 3.09. Anything else and it would fail for me.

After Odin say passed are you rebooting into recovery and flashing Philz and SU or are you just rebooting into the phone OS like normal?
IF the above auto reboots back to the phone.
Uncheck the auto reboot and once it's all done and says passed reboot into recovery and complete the flashing needed.

I seem to have figured out the problem.. just updated SuperSU and root checker says my phone is rooted now. Now you said something about flashing Philz.. how do I do that and what does flashing Philz do to my phone?

if it says youre rooted then youre good. i dont think you need philz. i had the same problem. my recovery was cwm so.i dont think philz is a must.
if i remember correctly, it has something to do with supersu not matching or being up to date or something. hence your simple fix.

Download the rom you want to use, onto your phone.
Check it's md5 (i use md5 checker from the play store)
Boot into recovery and make a backup (i also reboot, go back into recovery and restore/boot into my backup just to make sure it's good)
Back In recovery, wipe to install a new rom.
Install your rom .zip
Reboot (and hopefully) profit.

Okay so Ive been out of the rooting game for awhile now and decided I should take a shot at rooting my note 3 so I could tether a little more. Well I used the Kingoapp root and on the computer everything said it went smoothly. However on the note 3 the device will boot up on to the Note 3 Screen but says this RECOVERY BOOTING....... Set Warrenty Bit : recovery and just stays in that boot loop. Since this is my only phone id like to get this back running today. I have a Tmobile Note 3 and Im using an HP Spectre XT Ultrabook with USB 3.0 any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You need to root and flash custom recovery for your N900T using the time proven method.
Follow the step by step instructions below:
(This is assuming that your phone has the stock n900t firmware installed)
#1: Download cf-autoroot for N900T:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45687485/CF-Auto-Root-hltetmo-hltetmo-smn900t.zip
#2: Download twrp custom recovery for N900T:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45687485/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-hltetmo-4.4.img.tar
#3: Unzip the contents of cf-autoroot into an empty folder on your desktop
#4: Copy twrp custom recovery into the the same folder you created
#5: Flash the cf-autoroot with Odin windows app which is in your new folder
using "download mode" of the phone
#6: Flash the twrp recovery using download mode of the phone with Odin
#7: After both cf-autoroot and and twrp recovery are odin flashed successfully
you can either keep your stock N900T firmware or you can boot into twrp recovery
and flash any of the compatible zip file roms found in this forum.
Good luck!
Thank you soo much! you have brought my Note 3 back to life! The only issue I am facing now is Odin will not recongize the TWRP recovery file. Should I try a different version of Odin?
My apologies! I was extracting the recovery file with winrar! lmao!! sorry its been a long day. Thanks again!
Hi guys,
I have an international Note 2 (N7100) and I rooted it months ago and had different Android versions without trouble. Recently, I decided to download the stock rom and flash it with Odin to unroot it. It worked (I had to wipe cache and factory reset from recovery) after flashing back to stock rom.
But now I wanna root it again and I've tried to install many recoveries using Odin but after I click 'start' odin 'resets' and reboots the phone and it boots back to the custom rom without rooting although it shows 'Pass'.
WIth the CF recovery file, after Odin restarted the phone, a screen came up with a red Android robot and the screen had writing like 'mount cache' etc and 'restoring stock rom' towards the end.
P.s. In some instances, Odin managed to root the device (I think) but whenever I tried to get into recovery, the starting screen kept flickering weirdly and the phone just turned off. When I turned it on, it just turned on normally without going into recovery. So when it's on stock rom, the recovery works but whenever I try to root it with Odin, it either doesn't root at all or the screen does weird flickering when trying to go to recovery.
I don't know what to do so please help me. All I want to do is just root it and install a custom rom. Thanks.

Root with cf auto root, after rooting let it reboot ,after that update the binaries from super user app. Update super user , make sure the knox is disabled by super user when asked knox will interfere for recovery installation .if u want too reboot the device than install the recovery thru odin. Root can also be achieved by flashing twrp and then flashing supersu from twrp.
