Port cyanogenmod 11s - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm wondering did someone tried to port cyanogenmod11s from oneplus one to our galaxy nexus?

A port from the one plus one is next to impossible. The day may come that it is built from source for our phone. Today is not that day.

Most of us are getting close to retiring the phones so a port makes very little sense I think.

Where is the Official Dock?

It's been quite awhile since the Galaxy Nexus has been released. Why hasn't Samsung released the dock(s) yet? Does anyone know when they're expected to be available?
there's already a thread about this.
Samsung released a dock, but it does not have the 3-pin connector. No one know when or if they will actually release one for the verizon version.

Would you recommend this device

Hey guys I'm getting a new device in a few months. And my choice is weather the nexus 4 or the galaxy s4. So I'm wondering would you reccomend the s4 and if possible tell me some of the features you like about it. Even though I'll be building/flashing custom ROMs/kernel on what ever device I get I would still like to know some of the features you guys like so I can decide on which device to get

Tough to answer right now, in the next few months a few more new phones should be out. The Note 3, the nexus 5, the Moto X, maybe the LG G2, who knows what else...
Today? If your looking for the most powerful device in TMo's current lineup, price be damned, then the S4. If your on a budget, the Nexus 4 is just fine.
Note 3. I'll be getting it when it comes out and keeping my s4

Price doesn't matter much. Because my dad told me if I get good grade after my first trimester back at school he will buy me any phone I want. Since every one else in my family upgraded and I'm stuck with my olld sgs vibrant. And if the new nexus is out by then than I'll problebly get that bit I've been lookin at the s4 and the n4

S4 because it can be a higher powered nexus device if you want it to me. I converted my s4 to a s4 Google play edition and I'm on 4.3 and will get updates just as nexus devices do...

Depending on provider be careful which S4 you get.... I have the Verizon S4 and the latest OTA has the device locked down like fort Knox.
No custom roms or root at the moment. I would say the Moto X (which I also have) is very similar to your gnex.
You may want to hold out and see what drops in the coming months.

I agree with bajasur. Just wait another month or so and see what's coming out. We might still have hope of the nexus 5 on Verizon. I'm just waiting on the word from Google to see what the plans for the N5 are going to be. If not I would go with the S4 as my next phone. The moto x looks nice and it is close to vanilla android but the camera really disappoints me. I would say check both forums and see what they have going on there.

N5 would be nice on vzw I love the screen on the s4 its phenominal i have a n4 for my work phone and its "ok" im not allowed to root or rom it though.
If the next Nexus doesn't come to big red, I'm going for the Note 3. I love my Gnex and I love the nexus community, but it's starting to get long in the tooth.
Will be a great hand-me-down to my girlfriend, though! Her LG Lucid makes me throw up in my mouth when I use it.
My Galaxy Nexus died, so I opted for the S4 Google Play Edition. It's as close as you can get to a Nexus phone that has a removable battery and microSD card slot. I'm really pleased with the choice. I am keeping it stock, though I've rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, and installed CWM recovery.
If I were in your position, I'd probably wait to see what the Nexus 5 looks like before buying a new phone. But if you want to act now, the S4 GPE is a great phone.

Nexus 5 will be faster than any android devices except for the ones who share the same class of SoC !
Nexus 5 has already been said to out perform the S4 an note 3 plus every other android device so you may want to wait for tha, the S5 will be out early 2014 anyway.
I'm going to grab the Nexus 5. I'd go for the Moto X but it's battery life and CPU won't give it the two year lifespan I need from a phone.
Another vote for Moto X. But I'd wait to see what the next nexus looks like.

I have worked with a lot of devices on xda ,and to be honest HOX has the least attention
I own a newly bought HTC Sensation XE and it has the twice the support that HOX has though its a years older than One X
beside the HTC One X hasnt been lucky with Tegra Chip inside since this chip isnt popular at all and it doesnt has any kind of support
,,lol
another point Samsung Galaxy S2 even has more support than both of these devices together
SO when it comes to your question ? I think our device here is dying fast when it comes to support
next time I'm going to by only Nexus devices though when it comes to build quality HTC is far superior than any other device

Have you checked the XDA page for any NEXUS device? even nexus 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nexus 1 is more popular than this mighty HOX . and yes NEXUS 1 has a KITKAT ROM running on it
HOX is a really powerful phone when t comes to specs and numbers but thats ok if I were a normal user , but sadly XDA has changed the way I look into phones ,
because of XDA I will only buy a device with a lot support and t seems that NEXUS devices always lucky to have

Take a look at the legendary HD2 it's support beats the one x in every way that's due to the chip and s-off... And yes nexus devices support is way better duo to its price what broke the one x is the ****ty Tegra chip nvidia is known at writing bad drivers for Linux kernels so i wouldn't be surprised... When i bought the one x i knew that the support won't be amazing but i thought we will have s-off because that didn't happen the support is very bad so mhhh.. Let's see if the next htc gets the 805 snapdragon chip this would be really interesting if not the N5 will always be there

The only thing I don't understand why is so hard to port a ROM from the original Nexus 7
it has almost the same Tegra 3 CPU in it and it has all the drivers supplied for the latest Android 4.4 version...?

That's what I decided after this HTC experience as well. It was my first Android phone, and now I know that Nexus is the way to go.
Even HTC Desire has better support than HOX at the moment.
Lesson learnt, only buy Qualcomm chipset based phones
And by the way, kitkat kernel source for HTC one is already released. And we are still waiting for 4.2.2 kernel source.

[Q] Android L Dev Preview Port Feasible?

Do you guys think that a port of the nexus 5's dev preview will be feasible or even possible?
Ah yes, I too would like to know how likely it is, since at the moment the GPE M8 is all I have for development purposes. I am probably going to today to get a Nexus 5 unless its going to be possible. I want to make sure all my apps are going to be ready
i doubt it will be possible
If it's in AOSP then why wouldn't it be possible?
Even if it's not the preview could possibly be ported to our devices

That's what I'm wondering. Is the code going to be available tomorrow? If so I have no doubt we will see roms pop up. If not I guess it will depend on if our 4.4.3 based binaries can be used on Android L. Really hope so... I'm tempted to re-buy a nexus 5.
Pretty sure someone will manage it!
They are not releasing code. Just preview images for the nexus 5 & 7. I'm not sure if a port is possible, but who knows.

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed, I expected a factory image for a flagship phone from less than just 2 years ago would be something Google could easily provide, specially considering Nexus 4 still has the most standard phone screen size (4.7") and similar specs as Nexus 5 (except for resolution, CPU speed and LTE), which exactly is why a Nexus 4 is my primary testing phone. Bummer.
By October nexus 4 will be 2yrs old and past it's support cycle. Just how it be. Maybe they will surprise us

Android L Port for a Consumer
I'm a complete noob when it comes to developing, but I hope that a port is possible and isn't too far away, I honestly just want to try it as a consumer. Whoever can make a port of the developer preview is awesome.
I suspect that it will be possible. But I doubt it will be fully functional. But it would still be fun just to play around with it.

It may be possible when mixing GPE and Factory Image of Nexus 5. They share the same Chipset (800 and 801 are almost identical), One M8 has no special Hardware except the Dual-Cam which is not relevant for testing the System!
It is possible, we ported over Android 4.1 from Emulator to HTC HD2 back in the days!
Regards
Was wondering the same thing.
What about official One M8 GPE owners here, shouldn't that phone get priority over the Nexus 5, or at the very least, get the exact same support and releases.
The One M8 GPE is kind of like the future Silver, it's the current highest end smartphone, with official stock vanilla Android direct from Google.

They did say at Google I/O that it will be released for Nexus Devices as well as GPE devices - when the full release comes.
This is just a developer preview, hence why it is only out for the N5 & N7.
