Sense 6.0 OTA Update is Live! - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Android 4.4 and Sense 6.0 update should be live and filtering through the system to stock M7VZWs.
http://www.htc.com/us/go/htc-software-updates/
REMEMBER:
If you are running a custom recovery or have an unlocked bootloader, DO NOT TAKE THE OTA! It will fail.
Also, if you are fully stock and wish to unlock or go S-OFF at some time in the future, DO NOT TAKE THE OTA!
If someone could download the OTA and make it available for the few remaining developers that would be great!
Otherwise, enjoy the update!

Trying to pull it, but stating up to date. i am stock odex manually debloated, and all the update apks are in place. Anyone else having the same?

I am completely stock; no update available at this time.

Probably means tomorrow for VZW users.
I'm going to post an RUU for the current version rom to help some people get ready..

My wife got the ota notification, but fails (completely stock) to download

It will have the extreme power saving option.
But it sounds like you need a factory reset. It is usually a good idea to reset after an OTA. They usually don't take very well.

+1 and going forward i would suggest that factory resets on stock roms only be done with stock recovery. HTC has been putting files in /data/preload (duoeffects stickers etc) and wiping with twrp etc will often wipe them... unless TWRP etc get updated to not.

I've went through 4 HTC One M7's... just got this one last week. So everything is fresh on it. However on every single one, the battery drain has been an issue. Which didn't happen prior to the KitKat update when I was on Jelly Bean.

I've installed Battery Doctor, and it helps get me through the day but the drain is still pretty horrible. I find myself plugged into a charger more than I should be with minimal use.
As far as an app running in the background, I've used my phone completely stock for a few days with no added apps and it still does it. I'm pretty convinced it's either GPS, Wi-Fi, Data, or OS related. Or all...

Once we can get the download, please remind me where it downloads to, so we can pull it

Rule #1 of rooting, never take an OTA. If you want to take it. You must first completely unroot, then accept the OTA. Otherwise wait for a dev to release a rooted version.

If you're rooted or running any other system modification, the OTA won't apply to your phone. Even if you try, it will fail and you'll just reboot back to your normal phone. Your best bet is to actually install an EK02-based ROM. If you want to stick to stock with just the new modem and kernel, and keep root, I recommend the UnNamed ROM that was recently posted. It's basically a rooted, debloated stock with CIQ removed.
Basically exactly what I was looking for.
It also includes the latest CWM, making future flashes nice and easy.

any idea what the sprint update included? would it be worth reverting to a stock rom to get it?

Sprint said that its a minor update thats primary fixes are for:
- 4G Sprint Hotspot disconnects when in a phone call
- Radio loses signal and may require power cycle
Couldn't hurt i guess. But there are a bunch of roms already out there that are using the ek02 update. Just use one of those so you dont have to do double the work.

just rooted my verizon GN its so much snappier

still on stock but it is just like butter idk how all i did was root. when i was not rooted it was little sluggish. i am planning on staying on stock rom will i still get the updates? and if i install them do i loose the root?

Odds are it's the full system wipe, which is like a super Factory Data Reset, that is the source of your better feeling GNex. Factory Data Resets cure a lot of ills.
So if anyone ever wants to know what is means by "placebo effect" there you go....
Rooting on it's own will not do anything to speed up the phone. It only allows superuser access privilege to you or apps you allow. This you should probably question and better have a good reason for.
Wiping the phone as a consequence of unlocking the bootloader may do that temporarily.

For right now with the bootloader Knox issues, I'm sticking with 4.12 and using the the 4.3 MK7 radio. I've gone through them all and this
improved my signal and battery time significantly. More over, with this modem improvement, I've fallen in love again with my finely tuned
Jedi-x20 all over again. ptmr3, still my idol!!!
I also flashed the MK7 modem. Haven't really noticed a vast improvement..and it also didn't deliver some of my calls and went straight to vm. But hoping it makes a difference as its used more throughout the day. .
To all people having problems,
I personally had to flash the deodexed rom about 3 times before the problems got fixed. First time camera wasn't working but I read somewhere that when first on stock taker pictures and then update the kernel. Second it was super sluggish...barely moving. Third time everything worked fine and have yet to come across and problems.
Just remember to keep erasing cache and dalvik after every flash/step.

Man people, I'm sorry for all of you. I received it while using tweaked but could not flash it so I went back to stock image using Mobile odin and triangle away. After going complete stock I received the update again then went ahead and installed it using the stock recovery. I gave up root because I'm impatient and couldn't wait 24 hours until the rooted version came along and the only thing I miss is viper audio and cerebus. So I went the stock route and after it booted up, I signed in to my Google account and soon as the home screen came up I did a factory rest and haven't had 1 hiccup. The phone is fast as hell, the battery is about the same, my 4glte even seems faster than before when browsing using the stock browser, not chrome. The keyboard is great now as well as camera, and nothing bets the apps to sd. So in conclusion do a factory rest and forget about root IF you want all to run flawless. I'm sure there will be a way to regain root again. Happy flashing.......stock style.

Update is live and rolling out! See my post in the main general thread. My wife is downloading now. I am in SW Missouri. Have fun!
Do we know or suspect anything yet in regard to
1) keeping root through the 4.4 OTA?
2) the negative impact of accepting the OTA on a rooted device running TWRP? I read something today that seemed to indicate that you needed the stock recovery to accept the OTA, so perhaps this is a moot point.
Related Note:
Why do I care if I am rooted? Why don't I just wait and flash a custom Sense 5.5 based on the new OTA firmware when it becomes available? It's interesting - I keep going back to my stock, rooted, original rom after flashing multiple roms available here on XDA, even some very good ones. HTC has done a pretty darn good job with Sense 5, and while I had no qualms leaving 3.6 behind for stock AOSP Android when available, I find myself missing Sense features when I use AOSP or GPE on my One. I've messed around with a couple of Sense custom roms, and I keep returning to the original firmware. I appreciate the ability to remove apps entirely through TiBu, so keeping root is good, and I reserve the ability to flash a custom rom if I get itchy want to, but I look at the fact that we are soon to receive an OTA, and I am torn. I know that it will be likely a matter of hours before someone Santod posts a stock rooted Verizon 4.4, but I've already set mine up exactly the way I wanted it. It's funny, after spending a couple of months not flashing new roms, both on the last month of my Bolt when there was nothing new and in the first month of having the One when 4.3 couldn't be rooted, I got really annoyed at the amount of time I was spending setting up accounts and preferences and mods and whatnot during the last week of flashing custom One roms. /rambling

No, you can't install anything from this link. It's source for developers. But it means in the next day or so the roll out of ND8 KitKat will begin OTA.
It's great news.

Awesome
Remember, if you get the notification, please try and get the actual file name of the update file and post it here. Once we have that name we can suss out the full download path of the file and it can be downloaded directly from the google server. In the past the path has been:

It means they can hax0r it so that it does not take away your phones ability to be rooted and pretty much boring.
So...They hax0r it, you continue to root it, then your phone continues to r0x0rs your b0x0rs all nightx0rs........:victory:
That's basically it. Things can be twisted around a bit if needed and any remaining bugs can be remedied.

May I ask, what do you mean modify the OTA if needed?

We can remove checks of your bootloader version, remove flashing of the new bootloader, etc.
Ah okay. Sounds good. So hold off until a stripped OTA is posted. Got it. Now to just find a 4.4.2 Rom that mimics The S4/5.

As soon as I get a link/zip from someone :good:
Finally...now I can update the wife's and daughter's phones....JB really borked the daughters so much so that I told the wife not to update so this will finally relive me of having to answer "my phone keeps telling me to update something, should I?" questions...
And before someone yaps up about "why not root" - it's because I don't want to deal with the bugs/updates/mods on their phones and besides, Flixster (an app they both use a lot) doesn't work on rooted phones (until somebody releases an update to OTA Rootkeeper or other app that hides root).
