First day? You might try a couple of charges before hiding it. It's not terrible. About 4 hours of screen on in 21 hours is not that bad for first charge.
I notice from the screenshot that your 4G reception is pretty poor (only 1 bar). The radio is by far, the biggest drainer of battery life. So that being considered, your battery life isn't bad.

It's going to be more efficient on Wifi. Low signal won't do much, but when it has to constantly search it drains fast.
Here's mine, had it since April 1st and the battery has been consistent.
Doesn't my held awake time seem high? It's higher then my screen on time all I did on the phone today was text, go on Facebook on and off and browse the Web a bit

I have the same problem with my New M8 which I just bought 2 weeks ago.
My situation is the fully charged battery will drain out 20% of power after 6hours sleep. I am pretty sure I turned off all apps before going to bed.

Battery savings can be had by making sure the display brightness is set to auto. Tbh your battery drain looks normal. There's loads of stuff going on the background when WiFi is on. You can cut some of it down by turning WiFi off when you don't need it and going to your account settings and unchecking some of the sync items you don't need.
I find the battery life suprisingly good considering how long I have the screen on sometimes. I've had full days out of it with constant use . Normal use I'll get 2 days easy.
Also I find this the best battery monitor app. The easy to read timeline graph shows exactly when and where the drain is. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...edium=organic&utm_term=battery+monitor+widget

I only get 3 hours tops of screen on time. Seems too little, from what I've been reading. I have wifi, mobile data and GPS always on and mostly use 4g since I don't have wifi at work. Is this normal?

My battery died in a few hrs today and the culprit seems to be 66% cell standby. I've never experienced this kind of drain before. I'm running the latest Franco Kernel and I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this?
I just posted something exactly like this earlier in the day. Do you have google chrome and recently updated? I think when I just uninstalled it, it fixed my problem...

would be amazing if you actually posted a screenshot of your usage, with awake time, screen on time, and network state....
Leave your screen on all of the time. It will make the cell standby percentage go down .
On a serious note. what's the time without signal? Just press on cell standby and it will tell you the percentage I think. It sounds like you didn't have coverage and your phone was constantly trying to find it...which would kill your battery fairly fast and probably make your phone warm in my experience.

What did your network level look like over that drain? It looks like you have bad signal, but it shouldn't effect it that much if you're on WiFi the whole time... as noted before, a radio constantly hunting for better 3G/4G signal can really drain the battery.
How much screen on time was that? Probably pretty low?
56% of the time you were without a signal? Where do you live? Alaska? On a serious note though...I'd recommend switching to 2g/3g or wifi when you're having trouble finding a signal.

WOW yeah didn't even see that. There's the drain right there. Your phone is boosting power to the radio to try and get a signal and just obliterating the battery.

At home, my signal is generally 2-3 bars 4G, maybe we're having tower issues in my area. This battery consumption is definitely not the norm for me. Kind of took me by surprise which is why I posted...

So it is true that when your phone did not have network connection, it will constantly find coverage and thus account for the awake time in the battery state? Therefore eating up the battery life, even though the screen is off?

Yes. This is true. The phone pushes more power to the radio also, which drains the battery.

not sure if "insane" means bad or good. But it looks about average. The average screen on time ranges from 3.5 to 4.5 hours. Mine is dead center of that.
Bluetooth not connecting to anything still drains a lot because it is constantly scanning for other bluetooth devices.
BTW your reception is in the YEllow. that means that also leads to battery drain.
So if you have better reception and your bluetooth is off then your battery would last longer.
Note: I use bluetooth a lot and I find it to be one of the biggest factors for draining. more than GPS and Wifi. Although, using wifi with strong signal actually saves battery.

I really doubt that, because I did the same battery test Techradar* does, which is:
screen on full bright
Wifi on
Gmai, FB, etc all set to update as often as possible
Run a 1.5 hour long HD video full screen
At the end of that test I was at 84%. (the Video was on my SD card, not streaming)
In the video they have a graph of their stats for different phones using this test. GS2 and GS3 are top 2.

You're doubting that our phone doesn't last that... Uhh.. Short? I've had this phone since December and had many discussions with others on here about it and we agree that 4 hrs is about right.
So with that test you're saying that our phone can get over 6 hours throughout the say with normal use? Highly doubt it. You have to realize a couple things.
1. Wifi consumes less battery than 4g
2. You should factor in a normal days use that means including idle time i would say about 2% per hour maybe less.
3. Watching a movie means no "touch" interactions which means it consumes less battery than Web browsing or playing games.
So yes if you just leave the phone on the entire time without touching it. It'll last a long time. But with actually interacting with the phone and using 4g data. Most gets 4hr. Screen time in 17 hours of use ( you guys do get 7 hours of sleep right?)
I don't really believe that test. I know that the 4s battery sucks balls. Our phone lasts longer with our 4g on. It is saying that the one x is shorter?? One x and s lasts longer than our phone. So yeah.

My battery is a little bit better. I don't have any screen shots right now, but it's usually around 3 - 3.5 hours on screen. Around 7-8 hours battery usage total.

Try downloading Gsam or watchdog from the playstore. Watchdog will tell you if there's a rogue app draining your battery and Gsam will tell you what's taking up the most power.
let your phone do a 3-4 recharge discharge cycles..then it would stabilize.

With 2 hours screen on time over an 8 hour period and your steady curve on that graph, I would say you have some app, or some service eating CPU cycles constantly (these are called wake locks)...
Do this:
Download an app called CPU spy
Charge your device all the way
Pull it off charger
Open CPU spy
Then just hit the back button to close it.
Let your device sit for about a half hour. Don't touch it as much as possible. Leave the screen off.
Open CPU spy... post a picture of what your CPU stats say according to that app. Majority of your times should be in deep sleep mode.
Also, your battery shouldn't drain anymore than 1 to 1.5% each hour at idle. Unless you live in an area where there is poor reception (scanning for signal chews it up as well).
EDIT** ALSO...is your screen brightness on auto or is it manually adjusted a little brighter? If it on auto, then your battery life according to those graphs is absolutely awful. I have mine set pretty bright and I still see about 3 hours of screen on time
Give it a few hours of "normal" use and then come back here with a Betterbatterystats screen shot with Partial Wakelocks/Since Unplugged and Processes/Since Unplugged. That way we can see what is eating your battery. With only 4% gone, we can't see anything (too small of a window). Make sure you don't plug it in and use normally.
I have seen your other posts and I am wondering what it is that you really want out of your battery. If you think that you can get 3-4 days out of a charge, that is not going to happen. 1.5-2 days is a reasonable expectation and I think that you can get that, but you have to look at your usage habits. No kernel is going to fix that. No ROM is either.
If you are polling notifications (Facebook, G+. Twitter) or Google Locations (Maps, some app that requires location) or believe it or not using the XDA/Tapatalk app a bunch, then those will drain your battery quite fast. I use the Tapatalk app quite a bit and that and Google Now are my #1/2 battery drainers. Could I get rid of Google Now? Sure. It is more of a novelty at this point. I still get 1 -2 days of charge on my phone wihtout worrying about where a plug is.
Like I said, come back at the end of the day or tomorrow morning and post the Partial Wakelocks/Since Unplugged and Processes/Since Unplugged and we'll see what is draining your battery.
Another thing to note is that it seems your mobile network is typically pretty patchy. This can really drain your battery too.
I've been chasing wakelocks since I got my device and think I'm at a pretty good place. I get 2.5-3hrs of screen on time (about 20% screen brightness) across about 25hrs of standby time. Does anyone else get a lot of mmc1_detect and mmc0_detect wakelocks?
thanks woodrube. I will post my stats at the end of the day. I don't have a facebook or google + or any app that have notifications or updates by itself. I have the screen set to 20% brightness
how do I delete that dmux wake lock?
Is there a drain??

May I ask why you suspect a drain, like how long does it last and also what's wrong with the built-in bat-stat?
My biggest recommendation is to avoid DL'n every single app and keep it to a minimum.
Mine last roughly 2days with a screen time of 3-4h without charging (was away a weekend recently and took my chances and left the charger at home, used the camera alot incl. 4k shooting and alot of music videos playing and made all the way home with 1 percent )
Best phone in terms of battery I've come across yet.

Changing ROM will not help in most cases if you won't discover what is eating battery.
I am on the same above ROM and kernel and I don't complain.
Term 'fast' is not much precise, either.
BTW:
1.3%/h is pretty reasonable if phone was in use from time to time.
Base rule with BBS is to check batery over night, when it is not used at all.
Under those circumstances you should see 0.1-03%/h and that is completely fine.

i dont think using wifi and auto sync will drain my battery from 60% to 6% in just a second. Anyway, i ordered a replacement battery from witrigs. Hope this fixes my problem. Ive tried factory resets and repair through pc companion. still no improvement. Turning stamina mode improves my battery. It no longer drops 50% in a second, just 10%. Still way too low compared to my excellent battery life with kitkat. Before lollipop, i charge my phone every 2 days with heavy use. Now, i need to charge it twice a day with moderate use.

If so - I'd come back to KK before replacing battery, if for no other reason then to prove LP is guilty.
BTW:
Long ago I decided not to upgrade to LP.
Looks like evey step ahead is in real life step back.
Everything is more complicated, wants more maintenance, yet works worse than old simple tools.

Hi guys, I'm a happy Nexus 5X owner, except for one thing: battery autonomy.
I had a true hope that Nougat would change my perception, but I got no improvement at all. After that I tried ElementalX kernel running every profile, including the newest GlassFish 1.2 and HawkTail 1.2. I also use Greenify and don't have facebook app installed.
I unplug my phone everyday at 7:30 AM and it can't get past 2:00 PM. My use is *only* web browsing (chrome) and whatsapp. Nothing like youtube, netflix, gaming or listening to music. I get only 2h30 SOT.
I've been using this charger for about 4 months: http://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_350509.html
My question is: could my battery have been damaged?
Thanks!
Probably just the usual combination of Usage, Settings and Signal. We could only guess without some screenshots though, there's a battery life thread in General where you can post them and get advice.
The one thing I can suggest to evryeveryoneone is to use Developer Options > Running services and see which of your 3rd party apps are running 24/7 in the background. These are using your phones resources even if you never launch the app.
Nothing special is needed to get good battery life on this device, I typically see 5-6 hours SoT over 24-48 hours with stock 7.0. No root or loss of features.

Why do you use that charger?

I use auto-brightness (usually 50%). No bluetooth, no NFC, location battery-saving. I run half time 3G, half time WiFi. I use this cheap charger at work. The original I use at home. My wakelocks from yesterday are the following:

Thats actually normal considering you have auto brightness and half the time on 3g. However, your whatsapp usage is huge. Try running withouth it for a day. And do you really need location? How is your signal strength?

Auto brightness consumes that much power? What's your recommendation?
Signal strength is always strong. I'm turning off location from now on.

Hell yea. If you have it on 50% and use your phone anywhere outside or somwhere where the phone determines that you cant see it clearly, it will crank up the brightness, and that consumes a lot of battery. Try running it on 10-15% manual mode inside, and 20-25% outside or more if you really cant see, but keep the brightness mostly to 25%. The screen consumes a lot and plus 3g, no wonder you have such bad battery life :/ On 10% brightness, you can pull off 4 hours for sure. At least I can
