I have noticed something odd about charging my Gpad. If the USB cable is plugged into the tablet before the charger is plugged into the AC outlet it will not charge. The charger always has to be plugged in first… then connected to the tablet. Is it the same for everybody? Just curious...

No, the screen shows the homescreen, but it doesn't start charging.

Is any one else having a problem with the phone reverse charging. I.e. the battery still draining while on the charger.

I borrowed a charger at the library and it would freeze my screen. I thought it was a phone defect. When I came home my home charger is acting normal .

If you are using it as a wireless hotspot with usb charging I could imagine that happening.
Usb charging is very weak.
I have a USB cable and it will only charge by the slow USB method. This occurs even when I use the stock Nexus charger. The cable also doesn't data so is there a possibility it doesn't have the data pins to short?
Plug it into your computer. Can you transfer files?

Nope. Nothing comes up on the phone or computer. It only charges. That's why I was thinking there's no data connection to short to tell it to charge AC.
Just buy a new cable.

Why does my phone keep making the sound that it makes when you first plug in the charger over and over repeatedly, every minute or two?
Sounds like the cable is moving inside the port. The note 1 was plagued by this issue. Try wiggling it around to see if that was it.

Now my phone won't charge. The lightening bolt icon is on. But it remains at 12%

If you're plugged into a computer/laptop, drain is probably equal to the amount the kernel can pull from USB for power. Stock kernel has 500mA limit for USB connections compared to 2A wall connections.
This isreally annoying. I have to unplug from charger. Power button works as do capacitive buttons on bottom of device. But not the screen. Cannot find anything in seeing for display or accessibility that affect this.

is it the stock charger? I have had similar issues when not using the stock charger.
There's a short in the cable which causes interference with the magnetic field of the screen.

Not necessarily.
Your charger might not be supplying the proper amount of power. Makes things wonky. Usually happens if you use a charger other than stock, but stock chargers can go bad too.

This, in my experience, is a ROM-specific issue. What ROM are you running?

this is on the stock ROM
Okay at first I thought that i was having issues with the roms that would drain my battery but it always on slow charge, I tried so many different usb & wall chargers all the same & even when I have my phone on, the battery drains fast. Does anyone know how to fix this besides getting a new battery?

Are you trying different charge cables? That can make a difference.
Also... See my post here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49155732

My battery also drain so fast when using stock rom or custom ones.
Is that because too often trickle charging?

That happened to me and I got it back to normal by changing the CPU settings to interactive.

I have used different wires still no change. So irritating to always have to charge my phone. Especially when i have to turn it completely off to charge & it charges slow.
Hmmm so change the cpu to interactive?

are you using the original charger that came with the phone or is it a generic charger? I had this problem with my previous phone, lg optimus l9. I used different generic chargers and a samsung charger and kept having the problem so I ordered an lg oem charger and it charged fine and didn't drain the battery after that. and try this battery app instead, betterbatterystats. you can download it for free here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
I used them both generic & the one it came with but they are all the usb kind. It so frustrating... Thanks for the app advice i'm going to try it out & hope it works.

It fixed my problem. It doesn't hurt to try. Setting, performance, then change CPU from on demand to interactive. Good luck.
