I have slow performance issue in my device. After investigation I found that it may be related to I/O performance. I used AndroBench to double check this and the results are 1/4 in compare to T889 which is considered to be my device

Try using an app that has been updated within the last 2+ years. The one you decided on was last updated in February of 2012. Abandonware is not usually going to give the best results.
Benchmarks are arbitrary and have no real meaning. The one you went with doesn't really say what is being tested. Your results seem to be related to SD card performance. Try a more reputable app such as Antutu or similar if you simply must delve into benchmarking.

Is it usefull to install a anti virus or not.
Thanks
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
I have got a antivirus app (but only since 2 days ). I think that it is not 100% necessary to have one, but it improves the safety of your phone.
I don't know how good the apps are therefore I can't say if they are that usefull, but a study showed that there was a 400% increase of Malware since summer '10.
So I think that it would be usefull (if it works properly )

Lookout security!! Recommended
Personally I don't use any either on my phone or a Linux PC I run at home and I've had zero problems in 12 months. My windows PC is a different story and is protected to the hilt!

I've also got the Lookout security. It works without problems.
But you have to know that such apps drain your battery (because they run all the time - otherwise they wouldn't have any use )
As you can see in my first post you can't be sure that they work perfectly, but I think that it is better to have one.
Thanks for you're advice.
After reading the article I definitely install an Anti-virus
But some say that the NetQin are the best.
NetQin doesn't take much battery.
That could be right. I'm testing Lookout (free version - I think that's a pretty good antivirus app). Untill now I could see that it takes more battery with the antivirus, but not exactly how much.
I installed it one or two days ago so just test NetQin (search for threads I think that there are some here or in other forums).
There are apps with the feature to lock and locate it romotely (which I think that it is a pretty good feature, because my former phone was stolen )
But before you install a premium version I would try a free version.
I just saw that NetQin is free so you can just try it. QR:

PS: sorry for the picture size
I dunno man...I have been using lookout for more than 8 months, I updated it regularly (set to automatic update on market app)...and I have not received any virus found message even until now..
I dunno if the anti virus is reliable or there are really no viruses found in my phone.
Wondering if i am suffering from the volume bug See...
Charging overnight: http://i44.tinypic.com/9930j7.jpg - Yet my phone has been "awake"?!
After 2 hours: http://i41.tinypic.com/2dim6me.jpg - Discharge almost 20% already and you see the awake time?
After 4 hours: http://i43.tinypic.com/302tok0.jpg - Faint! 50% was drained in 4 hours!
My homescreen: http://i44.tinypic.com/260e6tx.jpg - You will say is my Beautiful Widget, but I removed it and still phone awake!
How can I troubleshoot?
Exchange Services is really high. You probably have a corporate account that is having sync issues, and keeps waking the device.

Yeah I do have a corporate email account. But it's set to push notifications should I receive any e-mail.
Run BetterBatteryStats to see what keeps it awake. There's no reason why Exchange services should be that much of your battery.

Any settings I should take note of or set? What does blue/red bar means per app?

I think it is pretty obvious just by looking at your 2nd screenshot.
If u don't use Bluetooth (if ur rooted) , go to /system/bin and delete the file "bluetoothd" to fix wakelock
Edit: be sure to backup the file first

Yeah pretty sure it was the Corporate Email. I have since then remove the account and this is my result overnight from 100% downwards after 6 hours. VEry good results.
Thanks for your help.
My Exchange went nuts just like that, clearing the app cache didn't help but reflashing my rom over top again did, just cleared cache and flashed rom again and its back to normal, using 4% of battery or so on push...
Congrats on resolving your issue. Just to help others, is there any chance you know and could mention what o/s or version of exchange your work server is running? Exchange and/or the stock email app seems to be a problem for some but not for others. More info might just help someone isolate the root cause someday.
I did not flash. I just delete my account and readd it and it was fine after that.
So I was lurking around looking for a better alternative to the stock email client on this phone. I've tried just about all of the 3rd party clients and they seem to all have something that I don't like about them.
Well, for those of you who are on the stock rooted rom, here's a great alternative. It's smooth, responsive, works well with synced folders and provides an overall better experience when managing email. Some of the other ics apps are nice too. Link below

Enhanced email. Tried them all.
Does anyone else get android is upgrading message every reboot after installing one of these
Edit: I fixed this by going into /system/apps and deleting the old odex file for the app I replaced

How is the Battery drain with EE and Exchange ? I was using Touchdown for awhile and while I loved the features I couldn't stand the heavy battery drain. Is EE comparable of lighter than the stock email client ?
Much better and lighter than Touch Down. I haven't noticed any battery drain at all. The interface is so much cleaner too. As for Enhanced Email, I agree that it works well but it's still not as fluid as stock ICS.
I don't have measurable numbers, but it's based on stock with extra features and more robust. Works better with exchange than the stock version. I use it with 1 exchange account and its never near the top of the battery usage list.
There will be an update soon with an updated interface.

feel free to give your tips on how to improve the thread
thanks to umpal for the icons:good:
LEGEND this project by me is 4.3+ so no roms below that will be included Most of the columns don't require explanation but if you ask you'll receive a response.
Column 'Rating' shows stars acquired by voting (I take it from the thread itself, it is NOT my personal rating).
Column 'Active' wants to say that a ROM has been updated at least during two last months. After that period it gets 'NO' as a status, which doesn't mean it's a crap. Sometimes 'oldies but goldies' . (If you guys prefer different period of time write a comment and a reason, after all this thread is for y'all.)
Finally the last column called 'Problems' contains fragmentary description (the beginning) of bugs listed by OP (more info on the proper thread).
Each row leads to its thread so just click anywhere on the desired row if you want to open it.

let's make this work !

I think, giving 5 stars to all roms makes no sense. We must be more stingy when scoring, i guess

Great list :good:
I think you should check once more, which ROMs come with preinstalled gapps. I think OVERDRIVE and Cataclysm do (but Im not sure, someone correct me if not.. )
Keep it up, and make it even better and bigger :highfive:

I get 771/2734 (with the June 22 update, just installed and ran the app). which is at least better than the A52s score in their database it seems.

Did you disable or remove DiagMonAgent? That bugs the system out and makes the SystemUI process use an EXTREMELY HIGH amount of the CPU while spamming errors. Just my experience.

Could you share some info on how to track these errors? I have a bunch debloated and seems good 20% of battery drain goes without any app being tied to it, perhaps finding errors would help

Well, if you're rooted you can use MatLog to track the errors of these apps, you can also set it up with adb if you want. Make sure to set the Log Level to errors in the 3-dot-menu.
