feel free to give your tips on how to improve the thread
thanks to umpal for the icons:good:
LEGEND this project by me is 4.3+ so no roms below that will be included Most of the columns don't require explanation but if you ask you'll receive a response.
Column 'Rating' shows stars acquired by voting (I take it from the thread itself, it is NOT my personal rating).
Column 'Active' wants to say that a ROM has been updated at least during two last months. After that period it gets 'NO' as a status, which doesn't mean it's a crap. Sometimes 'oldies but goldies' . (If you guys prefer different period of time write a comment and a reason, after all this thread is for y'all.)
Finally the last column called 'Problems' contains fragmentary description (the beginning) of bugs listed by OP (more info on the proper thread).
Each row leads to its thread so just click anywhere on the desired row if you want to open it.

mine

let's make this work !

work as in? good quality? i would be pleased if someone really good at photoshop provides me good looking templates

I think, giving 5 stars to all roms makes no sense. We must be more stingy when scoring, i guess

Great list :good:
I think you should check once more, which ROMs come with preinstalled gapps. I think OVERDRIVE and Cataclysm do (but Im not sure, someone correct me if not.. )
Keep it up, and make it even better and bigger :highfive:

[Q] Widget Creation: Help

So I know everyone has seen this image that was leaked from a company in Germany and promoted as the concept images for the SGSIII. Well that was far from the truth apparently.
I would like to make this widget, or hire someone to make this widget. But I have no dev experience at all, just graphic design experience. Is there anyone that would be willing to toss some helpful info, tutorials, guides, or programs that would help with the creation of this widget?
Once I get my feet on the ground I would love to start making more custom widgets for everyone here.
Thank you all.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you in that I want to start contributing rather than just consuming, but I think we are just going to have to learn to code. No other way around it. I am currently doing that through I book I bought, and eventually I hope to be able to create some apps and stuff. It'll be a while until then though.
Yeah, its rather confusing. No disrespect to anyone, but if I was a dev I would enjoy helping others create widgets, icons, etc. Can't wait for the MIT Android Development site to start up again.
MIT Development site? Which one would that be?

Google created a application for creating apps called "App Inventor". Its made for non-coders to create apps. Its a really cool tool, and I just started diving in to it when Google decided to not support it anymore. Instead they gave it MIT and its going to be a open source application for free. The site was turned off at the end of 2011 and some time this year it should be back up on MIT site.

Oh App Inventor. Yeah I heard of that. I even tried it a bit myself. It seemed neat, but I think learning real programming is still the way to go if you want to do anything serious. If I ever need some help with artwork for something I'm working on, I'll let you know. We can partner up.

[App] Saev Mah Battery!

Hello guys,
I was working on a project today that lead me to create this app for myself, and I thought I could share it.
Basically, Saev My Battery! let you reduce your brightness below the minimum possible, without your phone needing to be rooted.
For now, the battery saving will occur only with AMOLED displays (like the SGS2's screen), but I'm planning to add the reddish tint for other displays in the next few days.
Let me know what you think about it, if you find any bug, if you'd like some more features etc...
Thanks for being my beta testers fellow SGS2 owners

There already is this app:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.haxor#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwiY29tLmhheG9yIl0.
which I personally use since SG1...But more is always welcome
I will try it although one of the let downs with your app for me is the name (I just don't like when people use words that aren't the real words) and the design.Make more polished..More eye appealing. Those are my sujestions.
Keep it up

Hey, thanks for your quick review. I'll definitely work on the design, but I've been too lazy to find a more appealing name I guess

I'm also using Screen Filter, but if this program will also have features of "Soft Screen Tuner" (plaing with colors, saturation...) and "Voodoo Screen tuning" so it will be "all in one" =) But anyway thnx! =)
How about SMB?

[Q] Does the Note II's double panel view work with any given app?

Hi!
The title says it all, I'm interested if the Note II can handle any app in double panel view.
I use computer almost never, and having a smartphone which could view any 2 apps at a time would be so good and would be a great next phone I'll buy.
Thanks for your answers already!
Not stock. Only a handful of apps will work in multi view.
But there is a mod in dev section that allows any app to run in multiview

Only certain stock apps are available in the Multi window by default. If you need to add your own apps, there are a few methods, or you can flash a ROM that already have this feature built-in
So far, the easiest is this one, you just need to find the item name of the apps you wish to add, and use the webtool to generate a zip file to flash into your Note II (You need to be rooted)
Here's how mine looks like once I added apps that I want :

Do remember to do the necessary backups before proceeding further.
Hope this helps!
Ok, thanks for your replies. At this time I wasn't able to find the mod kylec mentioned about, and the manual method looks pretty creepy, but I'll look into it later, when I actually have the device with me. It was a big relievement to know that there is at least some way to double-panel all apps. It's sad how Samsung doesn't give us the device's full potential by standard.
Remind that even u flash unlimited multi window mod , it wont be easy to use, many apps will be stretched strangly.

[ICONS] WHITE GLAZED ROUNDS [Project Glass Inspired]

White Glazed Rounds: A Project Glass inspired icon set
Size: 105x105
Count: 30
Status: In Progress
I made several of these icons on a whim after drawing some inspiration from several different 'round' icon sets (Project Glass/Pure Rounds/Buttonized) I'm a fan of, most notably Google's very own Project Glass. This is my first icon set, so bare with me. Even though I just started building this icon set I have considered making several different variations (dark and/or other colors) in the future.
If there's an icon missing that you'd like for me to add post here and leave your request.

Because the ones you see there are the only one's I've made (for myself). I posted them to see if people were interested, then I'd go ahead and begin making them. Since it looks like some people would like them I'll make some more and post them.
Also, if anyone has any recommendations on what type apps they need that aren't as 'main-stream' please post and let me know.
thanks again. I hope there're icons for Instagram and Whatsapp... many people use that. Maybe LINE too
Alright, I've updated the OP and added a download link. This first batch includes 30 icons.
Enjoy!
Will it be turned into a apk after it have lots of icons ? cause choosing one by one is a tad hard work .

Unfortunately I don't believe so. I have no idea how to do that.

[App][2.3+][Alpha] Looking For Players

LFP (Looking for Players) is a simple app that helps gamers find each other. It tries to emulate the bulletins boards in real life. LFP does not require an account to use but does require a persistent Internet connection. The three tabs (Response, Post, and Search) contain all of the functionality of the application.
Response lists the games you have listed with a list of people that are interested in playing that game with you. Tapping the X next to the game title removes the listing while the x next to a name removes that user. This list refreshes every time the app starts and every 15 minutes if left open.
Post allows you add a game to the server specifying the game, in-game name, platform, days and the approximate starting time. Anything posted is automatically deleted after one week.
Search goes through the available listings and returns a list grouped by time. All times are corrected for the local time zone. Clicking a listing within the group generates a dialog to notify the person that you are interested in gaming at that time.
Currently, I want to know:
• How responsive the app is.
• Is LFP intuitive to use?
• Are the colors appealing? How can I improve the theme, nothing too fancy for I am not an artist.
• Does this app accomplish its goal of being a bulletin board for gamers?
• If this was in the app store how much would you pay for it?
• Bugs and annoyances.
This was designed for use on a phone but it does run on tablets but its not coded to take advantage of the additional space.
**EDIT** This is the alpha so there isn't a large user base so there are 0 posts at the moment. Therefore everyone needs to post and search for the same 5 games: Pirate Sushi, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3, Roller Rally:Snake Pass, Combat Wings: The Great Battles of WWII, and Quarrel.

Cool idea!
Thanks, I'm contacting people on that UI designer list to create a new color scheme for this app. That's a common complaint. Which is not surprising at all really.
Very responsive, haven't ran into any glitches yet
