Why arent we allowed to stream movies we've downloaded on our phones to xbox one using allshare and system link and all the other apps?

Use bubbleupnp or allcast from play store
I thought X1 didn't have the DNLA stuff activated yet?
No sir, you can play/steam TO the Xbox one, it will not however allow DLNA browsing like the older 360, so you can't fetch files. But the above apps i told you about work great, currently using on aosp based resurrection remix without issue

I have seen this question a few times figured I would post it here .
If you would like to stream the media on your phone on your Xbox there is an app called Twonky Server and it works great. There is a free trial version to make sure if works.

Nice. Not going to lie, I think the one thing Motorola got right with the Droid X (besides build quality) was DLNA certification, sharing stuff with the xbox was so easy. I'm a bit surprised Vanilla Android doesn't include this...
That actually how I found this app in the first place. Liberty 1.5 didn't have it baked in so I used twonky
O!mediashare does this same thing for free without a trial.except I run into problems with some file types.apparently the xbox is very picky about what types of files it can play.unless it is something that has to do with the app itself.

Has anyone been able to play a Watch film on their TV through a PS3 or Apple TV? Is this possible? I'm sure I read something about being able to use a PS3 or Apple TV in the same way as a media link.
I am using an app called Skifta which is DLNA certified to push things to my Samsung Smart TV. I've not tried it on my PS3 but I would asume it would work for that also as the PS3 can also use DLNA. Looks and works really well with my Samsung TV though using that App. I can stream content from my HTC One X, from my media server(s) and also content from the internet.
I used to use something called ZappoTV on my iPhone and I know that worked with the Apple TV; I've just checked the Play store and its available on there so you could give that one a try also.
Thanks, I have given it a try but still no connection. I couldn't even get Skifter to find any media on the one x. Decided to buy a micro USB to HDMI, and save the rest of this afternoon!
I expect that even I could have made a connection between the phone and PS3, using a third party app like Skifter or Twonky, I still wouldn't be able to view HTC Watch movies, as they do not show up in the Gallery.
Have you stopped Media Service? Because I haven't any problem finding my movies. Another great app to use DLNA is HomeDia. It links all my devices and PC as media servers and I'm able to see them on PS3 and Samsung ES8000 smart tv

Hi Nightranger, not sure how you would stop media service. I tried Twonky Media, and could see movies shot with the phone but not HTC Watch downloads. Either way I still couldn't get it to talk to my PS3. I have a Synology Diskstation which shows up on the phone and PS3, so I'm guessing that Media Services must be on.
doh!

You need the HTC Media Link HD to stream HTC Watch movies. The Media Link HD box has DRM features added which regular DLNA doesn't have and HTC Watch won't let you do it without this.
Don't know if any asker still needs this, but here goes. I was also quite stumped as to how to stream media from HOX to PS3.
After quite extensive searching high and low on the interjacks, I come to these conclusions/solutions:
1. HTC purposely make it difficult/impossible to simply share media with DLNA clients JUST TO SELL their MediaLink HD.
2. For those who wants to stream their media (videos/pics/music), especially to Playstation 3 (PS3 - [for search engines]) simply download the free SKIFTA from Google Play. Instructions are straight forward, I was playing silly videos and HD trailers off my phone in no time.
Press that little thanks button if this has been helpful Thanks.
I used double twist air play and was able to stream photos to ps3. Don't remember about video...

Does streaming things cost major battery? I mean if you can't stream a whole movie due battery life it is worthless right
I use skifta, free from play store works for pics music and vids works very well..

is there a particular reason why you dont just play them straight from your ps3?
I put my movies on a memory stick etc and transfer them to the ps3 and play them that way
for files like mkv i just convert them to mp4 and it works fine
I used the "Select Player" function on the player and it works even on Windows media player( sucks) and XBMC it should work for PS3 I think
Hello.
Using ICS and can anyone guide me where is DNLA there???
It's DLNA actually.
I don't recall having DLNA in ICS or any other ROM beside Sense. But then, you can always use the third party app such as Skifta. It is DLNA certified app. The app itself is free and can be found in the Play Store.
True. I was always using a Sense ROM, it worked, then I didn't have a TV enabled and finally using an ICS ROM and got a new TV...
Tried BubbleuPNP but the results are so random.
Thanks for the answer, I'll try the app.
What would be the most cost efficient way to wirelessly stream content such as my mlb.tv subscription from my phone to my tv (It is wifi enabled)?
Ive used apps like imediashare before for other things but i dont think itll work with the mlb at bat app.
thanks!
Only options i can think of off the top of my head are: Using what samsung designed for that specific purpos by using an all share cast dongle (~70$ on amazon) or hooking up a PC to your tv but that's kind of difficult to set up and most of the apps to view your phone from your PC are pretty laggy
Xbox 360 or PS3 if available I'd my suggestion
Have you tried twonky beam? Not sure if it would work but it looks like it might be something like what you need. It streams web videos.

All share cast dongle is your only solution. It works wonderfully too just wish it worked on aosp
I am looking for a cheap emulator box but primarily will Ouya as a replacement for my ATV1 streaming device.
I stream video from certain XBMC addons and was wondering if anyone can provide feedback from streaming video through XBMC on a Ouya?
Thank you.
So far (past week or so) my experience has been very impressive, I have been streaming my personal movie collection via local network) however for some reason (think I remember reading they screwed something up in their firmware update) the ouya crashes and hangs via ethernet, I was starting to get really peed off, read that, pulled the plug; all good!? DTS currently doesn't work (someone please correct and enlighten me if I'm wrong), which is a pain in the yaris, but is apparently "in the works", the ouya team seem like a bunch of active awesome people though, so I have full confidence they will work with the XBMC dudes fully to get that sorted! I was previously using a sumvision cyclone nano slim plus mk3 (1GB RAM version) with an adapted XBMC 12.0 version for the Pivos Xios (same beast essentially) which was flawless! I am yet to venture down the route of plugins though, so my response may be useless!)

I successfully use 1Channel / SportsDevil / TVcatchup / Twitch.tv on my two Ouyas. I've recently set up a Google Music addon that works great too.
This is both using the original sideloaded XBMC and the one available in the Discover menus.
I stream a lot of MP4s across my home network, thogh it seems to struggle a bit with XVids for some reason.
I use it to watch movies and shows from mashup, 1channel, sportsdevil, icefilms and few others. Everything works really well and I only have buffering when everyone in the house is using the WiFi. Even then its not bad. May happen once or twice a show if that.
