You can flash any customization you like, but be aware that these are all branded firmwares, so they may contain logos and/or apps from their carrier. Build 10.3.A.1.423 hasn't been released yet for the (unbranded) Generic BR customization. You may also flash one of the unbranded Xperia ZL C6503 firmwares if you like (e.g. Generic DE, Generic SG, etc.), see [INFO] Latest firmware version per customization (region/branding).

Thanks for your support! I think I´m gonna wait for the Generic or VIVO ROM wich is my carrier! Any idead when it's coming out??

Nobody on XDA will be able to tell you when, but Vivo still hasn't released any update until now (they're still on the initial 10.1.A.1.350 firmware!), so it might take a (long) while. You'd better contact them and ask why they haven't released any updates for their Xperia ZQ yet.

This roms doesn't do anything to your chip.
You can use any flavor you want, if something goes wrong or if you doesn't like it, just restore back your carrier version. Don't forget to backup your stuff.

All firmware customizations are based on the same generic base system. The only difference is the customization package (containing region-specific apps and settings) that has been added. Unless one of the region-specific bundled apps is causing a lag, switching to a different customization will not make any difference, because the system files are the same.

well, I tried flashing another generic version and even tried restoring it using PC Companion, and was still laggy, I've used the generic version from Middle East/Africa due to Lte frequencies. I'll be waiting for Generic BR.

problably. I don't know what caused this, but I wasn't the only one who reported this problem. Otherwise, everything was working fine, but the performance of my phone was awful.

[STOCK ROM][FTF] Xperia ZL (C6506) 10.5.A.0.230 Generic US

Here's the Generic North America 4.4.2 release for Sony. It's untouched, just zipped and split into ~ 450mb files - and it's large enough it's 3 files in size. (Today's rather psycho, and perhaps this evening when I should have more time, I'll re-zip and upload again as 2 files.)
I've tested this by flashing it to my own device. Even with that, I don't guarantee this to work for you.
If you're locked boot loader, you'll want to look at Nuts thread elsewhere for files to help you stay rooted (once he actually builds a zip for 230).
If you're Unlocked boot loader, you can flash this, then flash a kernel with a build-in recovery and root using the update-su file found elsewhere on XDA, then flash the kernel from this FTF again once you're rooted.

For what it's worth, this feels pretty smooth, no bluetooth hiccups (no pops, pauses, etc while listening to it on my way home - so about 30-45 minutes straight...), but I haven't really tested anything further...

I am confused to how I am supposed to keep my root from .101 on a locked boot loader... All I can find from NUT seems to be a stripped ftf made for .101 and nothing else... If you had any input on that, thank you!

C6506 is America region. C6503 is global region. Both are LTE enabled.

Anyway, you can flash it to your c6503... Just exclude the baseband/modem from the flashtool

works great but the notification bar color, quick settings won't change if you change the theme.

Soy de Monterrey, mi cel usa c6506 y este rom le quedo.
la compañia que uso es Telcel, no ha mandado el update de 4.3 a 4.4, por lo que le instale este ROM
al instalarlo, si esta lento las notificaciones, el teclado, browser etc.
lo que hice fue conectarlo a PC companion, le di reparar, me bajo el 4.4 original y me lo reinstalo.
ahora esta bien CHIPOCLUDO

Well, you can change it bro! :laugh:
Simply root your phone, then install Xposed Installer. And then, install a xposed module called Xperia Xposed. Then enable Colored Expanded Contents on System UI....

Decrypted Using flashtool to be flashable on boot unlocked devices.

How did you get that? OTA and Sony Update show the last version as 10.5.1.A.0.283.

Nah, all you need is a brain (obviously), an Xperia ZL (obviously too) and Flashtool. You can keep your ass safe and keep your bootloader locked.

EDIT : three day review - ARGUABLY THE BEST STOCK OS FOR ZL
Increased responsiveness, apps open quicker, app switcher operates instantly as opposed to a small lag in 5.0.1.
Memory optimization and multitasking is great
battery life is more or less the same, cell standby power consumption issue seems resolved, only 5-10% now

First Impressions:
Smoother
No Lag
All things functional
weird gap between network and battery icons in status bar
overall a nice update
will post if i get any abnormal behaviour

Can I apply this FTF from the recovery or just with flashtool? Either way do I need a new kernel? Or just installing the FTF will be fine?

Spanish: Esta actualización viene vía OTA ya, así que conectá directamente el teléfono al PC Companion y aplicá la actualización, pero eso si, aún no encuentro el mejor método para rootearlo. Si encontrás en buen método sin tener que hacer downgrade a una rom pre-rooteada, publicalo porfa.
English: This update now come via OTA. Directly connect the phone to PC Companion and update, but i don't found yet a good method for root this firmware. if you can find them (with no downgrade to pre-root firmware), publish here for us, please.

@johnred3 if you have an unlocked bootloader, you can flash any of the advanced stock kernels available for ZL, root via recovery, and then re flash this ftf and select only kernel file while flashing

This update is for C6502. This device is a WCDMA one. The device itself does not support LTE. Please check device model (C6502,C6503, C6506 etc) before flashing
