The first post on that ROM thread states that you need to be on a Sony 4.4.2 ROM before flashing Resurrection Remix.
Do that first.

don't know if I should start a new topic or not since this is a few months old thread but I'm looking for a guide to install TWRP on Xperia ION with locked bootloader as well...
I know this is possible because I have a locked bootloader and TWRP on my Xperia ION right now...
I got the TWRP when I install CM10 for locked bootloaders by @MrGezz
I am on Slimbean rom now and I noticed that I retained TWRP even though I flashed a new rom... don't know if TWRP is baked on that rom or TWRP doesn't get erased even when flashing a new rom...
Anyway I want a guide to install TWRP because I want to try and compare the camera quality on an official stock rom and CM based rom, because I noticed that pictures taken from my camera started to get a little blurry and out of focus ever since I flashed a CM based rom.
And I think installing an official stock rom will remove TWRP on my phone...

You can install TWRP by Unlocking the Boot loader. But if you dont want to Unlock the Boot loader then you cannot install TWRP alone in a Locked Boot loader, But
There is another way. You can install Both CWM and TWRP together.
Try this CWM-TWRP Xperia ION Dual Recovery for locked/unlocked bootloaders
Follow the Instructions.

Yes, you will have TWRP and CWM on your locked bootloader Xperia ION. Just as Captain Droid said, follow the instructions.

Did you install custom recovery through odin? Which one and after that which rom?
Some custom rom required KitKat boot loader and you forced to update it. I have the same issue like you because I stayed with jelly bean boot loader. Everything is OK after upgrade. Good luck.

You can't install custom rom from stock recovery. First install custom recovery (TWRP or CWM) through Odin then you can flash desired CR.

Secure boot error means that your kernel didnt pass system checks?
What rom are you trying to flash and what firmware version are you currently on?
I'm not sure what my firmware is but I'm running google 5.0 lollipop and Im trying to install cm 12.1
Writing again because im still having the same problem. I tried rooting again and installing a new kernel the 777 kernel for d855 and im still getting the secure boot error, anyone else ever have this problem i feel like ive tried everything
If you rooted from 5.0(Not restored to Kitkat then root then flash to Lollipop), You need to install Kitkat Bootloader and aboot as they fixed the issue in Lollipops bootloader.
try Auto Rec from playstore to solve your problem of "ecure boot error" on rooted Lg G3 D855 international

You need the Kitkat Bootloader, you need to flash Kitkat via LG Flashtool then enjoy custom roms
OK Guys so i figured out my problem, it seems to be that if you install multirom it completely messes up your recovery. All i did was install AutoRec again and it was good to go! Hopefully this helps anyone else with similar problems

No TWRP for Z1c???

I wanted to download the newest version of TWRP on teamwin's homepage but couldn't find Z1c under devices only Z3c and so on.
Does that mean TWRP doesn't support Z1c? I don't want to use CWM.
I tried installing XZDualRecovery but that just soft bricked my phone. I have unlocked my bootloader and used the Kernel builder on this site http://nut.xperia-files.com/ and flashed the boot.img using cmd. After that I get stuck in a boot loop, Sony logo is showing for a few seconds, then the phone turns itself off and starts anew.
The device is rooted using EasyRootTool v12.4, unlocked bootloader, running KitKat 4.4.4 build 14.A.4.0.157 generic stock rom.
I tried flashing the newest pacman rom and flashed the provided boot.img and TWRP worked while I used pacman rom but it doesn't with stock rom.
Can someone give me a link to where I can safely download TWRP for stock rom or am I missing something here?

It depends on the kernel of your ROM. As you found out, unofficial twrp is available for Z1c, but it's not going to work on every ROM. I'm sure there's probably a custom ROM based on .157, or a custom kernel you could flash that would work with it, but maybe not with stock Sony fw. Just flash twrp in fastboot, and try.

Yeah, I've read a bit more on teamwin's page and it basically says that I'll have to compile it myself for Z1c but I'm in no way familiar with compiling code so...

Thanks, for the link. I've found this thread before too but from what I understand this version is not for stock rom?
Never mind. I've managed to install XZDualRecovery now. Turns out I just had to install the normal version after all despite what the page stated about unlocked bootloader.
Thanks for your answers. Thread can be closed.

I was in the same situation as you:
I was not successful with XZDualRecovery either, and tried my best to follow the instructions available. I was soft-bricked as well. Ultimately, I installed TWRP but didn't stay on stock (went to slimkat) so I don't know if it works on stock kernel.
Yeah, the instructions are pretty confusing. I then just tried out the installer version for locked bootloader although I had unlocked mine and it worked just fine.

[Help me!] My Zenfone 2 always brick when I try to install a ROM

Hey! I have a Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Z00A) which always brick when I try installing a new rom. The first time I tried installing RR and so, I downgraded to Lollipop so that could use Asus official tool to unlock my bootloader, then I flashed a TWRP recovery (I'll post the file here) through fastboot and booted to recovery mode. I used the TWRP recovery to then install ASUS rom for Android 6.0 (because the RR thread says I must have Android 6 previously installed) then I restarted and.... got bricked. To unbrick, I used this tutorial from here (one that teached me how to use xFSTK and fastboot to bring my phone back to life) and then unlocked the bootloader and flashed the TWRP recovery, did the update to 6.0 then when I tried to flash RR TWRP says I can't install it (I got error 7) the I reboot and got bricked again. Can someone here please help me?

There's a lot going on here. You need to spend some time reading through the threads. Basically, you can't flash the official asus rom with twrp. It requires stock recovery. And you need to be sure to have the correct bootloader for the custom rom you are installing. Basically, Lollipop roms based on stock rom and Cm13 based roms need Lollipop bootloader. Marshmallow roms based on stock mm rom and LinOS 14.1 based roms need the Marshmallow bootloader. That's where your error 7 was coming from.
Again, read the first post of the Rom you want to install carefully. It should tell you what you need.

The RR rom tells me I need Android 6 but the Official way to unlock the bootloader doesn't work with Android 6. How am I supposed to unlock it? If it helps, here is the link to rom I'm trying to install: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/rom-resurrection-remix-m-5-8-0-t3507247.

Like I said, you need to read through the threads. Go to the resources and the index threads in the general section. And look at the first posts there. Also find the modder tool thread. It's a very useful multipurpose tool for all kinds of things.
