SGH T889V on Rogers - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi there, hope anyone can assist with this,
I have just gotten back an SGH T889V I got a while back while on Videotron. I have since changed carriers to Rogers but the signal is very low.. I hardly get any H+ 4G, mostly 3G. I believe this to be because of the different bands. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether if I flashed a Rogers baseband, I would be able to potentially get better reception.
Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks a bunch!

[Q] T-Mobile radio on TELUS SGH-T989D for use on Mobilicity

Hi all,
I apologize if this question has been answered 50 times in the last 2 minutes alone, but if it has been, I was not able to find the answer.
I use a TELUS SGH-T989D on Mobilicity (it's baseband unlocked) and, while I don't have problems with connectivity, I am not happy with the data speed I get every once in a while. Granted, most of that is due to Mobilicity itself being an infant by carrier standards, but I was wondering if I can improve the situation a bit by flashing the T-Mobile radio on my TELUS Samsung Galaxy S2 X.
For those not in Canada, Mobilicity operates one band only: 1700Mhz AWS in a few metro areas, and that's it. The TELUS SGH-T989D comes with a radio optimized for dual-band operation on the 800/1900Mhz, which is quite useless to me. I currently have the TLKJ3 radio which came with the handset.
So if you know the answer, or you have tried it, I would be quite happy and grateful if you would kindly save me a headache or two.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Modem differences

Hi guys,
Just bought an AT&T SGN2 and loving it.
The thing is, I'm here in the US on business and live in Canada on the Fido/Rogers network.
Now as I understand it, there is a Rogers specific firmware available which has a different modem than the AT&T firmware.
What is the difference? Any benefit to switch?
AT&T and Rogers use the same frequencies for 3G and LTE, so why different modems?
Thanks

[Q] Anyone got a i317m version to work on Wind/Mobilicity?

Hi,
Has anyone tried (successfully or unsuccessfully) to get their Telus/Bell/Rogers phone to work on Wind/Mobilicity? If so, what did you do?
I have a Telus Note 2 and I want to use it on Mobilicity.
I'm thinking a T-mobile ROM should work but can't find any threads where people have done this. I'm assuming the underlying hardware is the same but haven't found any threads proving or disproving that assumption either!
Thanks for any help!
My best advice would be to drop by a Wind/Mobilicity kiosk while they're not too busy and run a couple of tests with their demo SIM cards.
I managed to test AWS service with Vidéotron on a T889V running with the I317MVLALJ2 modem, so you might have a shot at this.
Another, clue is to test if the phone sees their networks, either with your current SIM, or no SIM at all.

[Q] Canadian Note 2 SGH-i317M to work on US AT&T

I've exhausted pretty much every forum and can't seem to come upon a straight answer. Hoping someone here can help.
I have a Canadian Note 2, SGH-i317M model. Stock ROM, and unlocked. I am trying to get it to work on the US AT&T LTE frequency. I previously tried to get it to work on T-Mobile following the guide on galaxynote2root.com to unlock the AWS band but I could only still get HSPA+ speeds. Inserting an AT&T sim after this still only gets my the HSPA+ speeds. From what I can gather, the modem should be present in the device but I could be wrong.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting my Note 2 to work on AT&T's 4G/LTE bands?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
The modem and bands are correct out of the box for AT&T, but just like with Bell (and Rogers?) you need the LTE provisionning on whatever plan you're using. In the case of AT&T, I recall reading that the IMEI registered to the SIM in question also has to be from an AT&T LTE device. Last but not least I recall reading some MVNOs didn't offer LTE connectivity period.

[Q] I747 only getting edge on Cricket -- Plz help

OK so I have a Galaxy Grand Prime (locked to Cricket) that gets 3+ bars LTE at my home. I recently got an AT&T (locked to AT&T) Galaxy S3 (I747) off of eBay to use on Cricket. Since both AT&T and Cricket both use AT&T's LTE network I expected it to work without a problem. However when I put the Cricket SIM in the S3 I can only get 2G EDGE network. I have tried different APNs, network modes, even a couple custom roms. I have no idea what the problem might be.
Any help would be much appreciated
What bootloader and modem are on the phone? Not sure if either of those things will keep you on edge.
