[Q] Question about Wicked ROM for T-Mobile m919 galaxy s4 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Out if every ROM I've used wicked ROM has been my most enjoyable for this phone because it gives you all the features and it was very fast. There was only one issue it had and that is why I'm making this thread because I would like to start using that ROM again. The problem it had is wheneveri would be on the phone, it'd lose service and 4g but I'd still be able to talk to the person on the phone however I would not be able to receive text and browse web while talking.. Has anyone else experienced this issue and how can I fix it? I really loved that Rom because it had all the features and emoji's. It was like being on 4.4...I also loved aroma installer soplease help! I tried wicked ROM v10 v9 and v7... Same issue on all!

You should still be able to get sms just not mms. But try flashing the NB4 modem. That should work

Want to Root - For One Reason Only - Anybody else?

Howdy,
I have a marvelous, marvelous AT&T Note II. Happy with things as is, the reason I would want to root is to get rid of bloatware. I just wanted to hear from those who decided to root but for little things NOT to run a custom rom or anything.
For those that did root and nothing else -- did you notice a change in performance?
Please be gentle
I did for that same reason. But I run the att special edition clean rom.

What is the advantage of this rom? Do you get more toggle options than stock?
I rooted to remove bloat and use google wallet. It also allows me to use root explorer and TiBu. Other than that im stock and like it that way. I may switch ROMs down the road but im happy for now.

I'm not 100%. But it removes all of the bloatware and I think you can download an add on that as like 23 toggles.

I only rooted so I can easily tether occasionally (2-3 times a month).
My opinion is that you don't need root to debloat. U can disable the majority of unneeded apps via app mgr. works great.
I rooted for all of the above reasons plus because it's my device and I wanted it my way. There's no reason I can think of not to.

What bloat ware do you recommend to remove from stock?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I rooted my phone for customization, speed performance, and occasional tethering. I went back to stock today because I was having data issues so I want to see if I still have data issues with stock.
Rooting is the way to go by far.

I rooted to get rid of bloat ware, and allow any app to run in multi-view.

you can tether with app called "share internet" it works well. I tested with my AT&T Note 2 to my wifes AT&T iPhone 4S.

It's it free and does At&t charge for using it if you don't have it on your plan

I rooted only because of Six Axis Controller Bluetooth connectivity... Then muli-Window before the official release... Then root explorer for customizations... Then a bunch of other things lol root = domino effect
Using the Stock CleanROM ATT SE 1.0 to actually remove bloatware (not just to disable them), to make any app available to multi-window, tethering and you can add other little things like 23 toggle mods, theme different parts of the UI, call record, expandable pop-up browser...basically the ability to cuztomize whatever you want while keeping the base ROM stock.
I rooted so that i can restore my apps from my Galaxy s1 using Titanium Backup.
Other than that I'm on stock as well (using nova launcher).

Did you figure out if root was the cause of the data problems?
I rooted mine so that I could get multi Window on my Canadian note 2. Rogers is slow to update. No performance issues during the few days that it was rooted and didn't have a custom rom

Does anybody use the stock disable feature anymore...
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
initially i rooted strictly to get rid of the bloatware, and enable tethering, but then once i saw the roms with multi window support for any app (running jedi xp8 at the moment) i jumped ship and installed a custom recovery, and then the rom. also part of it had to do with not getting the 4.1.2 update. my bros note 2 got the 4.1.2 update notification for multiwindow as soon as he set it up, i didn't, and going to the software update thing showed nothing... so i decided to just go with a rom.
may end up switching to an aosp rom once 4.2 becomes stable enough.

WIFI Tether issues on most ROMS.

Hey Guys,
I've tried all kinds of different roms, from different versions of Liquid Smooth, Carbon, Jellybam, but one common issue i experience is WIFI tethering.
All roms except Liquid Smooth 4.1.1 RC7. I've done clean installs, even went back to stop and flash fresh, and to no avail. None of the roms let me tether other than RC7. Even with RC7, the native tether doesnt work. I'd have to use a wifi tether app which only works for rc7
So a quick summary of what ive done so far:
-All wipe steps, factory reset inclusing data and system but to no avail.
-go back to stock, root again, flash any rom, nothing.
-go back to RC7 liquid smooth rom, and the wifi tether app is the only way to get wifi tether to work.
Any recommendations on what i could try or even use another rom will be awesome.
Thanks in advance.
WiFi tether on AOKP's 4.1.2 works for perfectly. Additionally, the rom is super stable.

Thanks for letting me know. The current ROM i am running is on 4.1.2 as well. It seems Wifi tethering hasnt yet been perfected on 4.2.2. Will wait this one out i guess.

You can try flashing KT747 Kernel. WiFi tether states its been fixed a few days ago. May be something worth doing to see if this corrects your problem.

i was using 4.2.2 Rootbox prior to this flash. I had tried to flash over the KT747 kernel for D2ATT however it did not work it just hung the phone in a continuous boot loop. i tried to do the method with fixed permissions in TWRP also but still no luck.
However it seems like on the AOKP(Jellybean 4.2.2 )Task650 (2.23.2013) (AT&T) rom i'm running the wireless tether is an issue still for Canadian customers as per the FAQ section that's in their main Rom thread

I've had working wifi tether on my 4.2.2 rom for quite some time. Where you getting the "Wifi tethering hasnt yet been perfected on 4.2.2" information from? You have to have a ROM + Kernel that will allow it. Most AOSP roms should be up to date. If they are not then I'm not sure why.
Another plug for task's latest. Tethering works with underwear and ktoonsez kernels.
^ latest task ROM? Or just the kernel.

ROM and kernel have to support it.
I'm not Canadian nor do I have Canadian service. So I can't confirm that. But I have a ton of Canadian users and have seen no reports of it not working. So that must mean it works just fine.

Did you use the native tethering app? I installed Liquid Smooth 4.2.2 on my VZ S3 yesterday and I can not get the native tethering to work.
How do you install and flash a kernel. Can it just normally be done through twrp??

Over the past week I've flashed a bunch of different roms, CM 10.1, AOKP, SuperNexus, etc. and none of them I can get working for wi-fi hotspot/tethering. I'm also on Rogers and my i747 works just fine on stock rooted for wi-fi hotspot, just none of the AOSP ROMs I've tried.
My tablet or laptop will connect to the wi-fi hotspot, but no data is passed through.

Need help, anyone please?

I have successfully rooted my SM-N900T Note 3 and have installed CM11/OnePlus One ROM and it's awesome. The problem I'm having is having a solid LTE connection. Before all of the rooting, my network was perfect. Now when I make a call, it throws my connection into "H" signal and it makes my call quality bad.
Any suggestions or fixes to this? Anyone is welcome.
P.S: I've tried manually setting up a T-Mobile APN and it's done nothing, so that's out of the question.

CyanogenMod doesn't support VoLTE yet. So when you place a call it drops to H...nothing you can do about it besides go back to stock rom.
Thank you for your info on it. I think there's a fix for it though. I have 3 updates for CM, but it won't let me update and tells me update has been aborted. I may have to manually install the update.

I have a note 3 and a oneplus one. The latest cm roms for the OPO, including the under development lollipop cm12, does not have VoLTE.
I figured. Lol. I'll just deal with it.

Hi,
You need to ask for help in the thread you downloaded the rom from.
Good luck!
Darth.. This has been a persistent problem that happens after every flash of a rom. I dunno what happened to my Bluetooth or WiFi but they never turn on. I even downloaded the same version of carbon ROM my friend had and his worked yet mine did not and I'm wondering why

I will have your thread moved to your device section so the experts who own your device can help.
If it were me, I'd flash stock 4.1.2 with Odin and see if its the same. If it is, sure could be a hardware issue.
Good luck!
Appreciate ya. That is a start. I can't use odin though because I do not have computer access at the moment. All solutions need to come from my phone

Installing xtrestolite rom on SM-G920P

Has anybody been able to successfully install an Xtresolite rom for this phone? I've tried a few times but the radio never works (won't connect to sprint network).
My latest try was using this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-xtrestolite-pure-edition-1-0-beta-1-t3082467 and using this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/development/kernel-unikernel-v5-t3166295
With this combination the touch screen works but the network doesn't.
Anybody have any success or suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm really surprised by how little activity there is in the Sprint S6 forums. I previously had an S3 and that forum was hopping! And still is!
