Whatsapp LED color - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've set the LED to blink to blue, yet it keeps blinking the default color.
Does the M8 only have the one color on its LED? or is there a solution ?

Pretty certain it only has two color. Red for charging. Yellowish green for everything else.

I am still amazed how a $650 premium flagship phone does not have a rgb led. Ponderous....

Try Lightflow and see if you can FORCE a different color. Might let you know if it's the LED or if it's Whatsapp.

That's actually amazing, even my first Android (Xperia X8) had rgb led. Nothing special, but it would be nice if M8 had it.

Wow. That's kind of unacceptable on a high end device. On every Android I've had I used a different color for every kind of notification. disappointing.

Everyone who wants rgb led on m9 next year should hit HTC on twitter and let them know.

LED control?

Is there any way to change the color coding on the Evo's LED charging indicator? I'm mildly red/green colourblind, and can't tell a difference at all between the red and green, would love to be able to set it to red/blue, or even yellow/blue.
Thanks!

Since there is not a blue led on the evo only way is to physically change it.
When I USED THE SEARCH I found this for you...

Weird, I ran a search and didn't find that. :S
So we can't change LED colour without changing hardware? I ask because the blackberry I had before the Evo had an app in their app store that let you change the LED color at will.

Unfortunatly no. our leds are color specific they are not multi-colored led's that would allow us to blend the colors to create a custom color...
Searching on this forum can be a little tricky I always search from this page so it will query all the evo sub forums..

That mod is awesome I just wish it easier to access the leds so we didn't have to take the whole phone apart and void the warrantee.
Yeah, can't say I'm excited about soldering anything in this phone.
Thanks for your help!

You can't change the trackpad as it's only a white LED. The notification LED is a tricolor (green, amber and red) however I'm not sure as to how to change what color shows when; granted I don't see why you'd want to as it makes sense how its set up now (green=charged/notification, amber=low, red=almost dead)

a app i use to change how fast and how often the led or trackpad led light flashes is Ledmeknow. its free on the market and works great. so far there is no way to change the color of the led
Learn to love soldering irons ;-p
LEDMeKnow has issues with CM7 and Themes .
Its odd noone has found a way to change it. Like said, the top one is only one LED and it is amber/green which should be able to be modified.
Haha I remember the G1 lit up blue when you had a Facebook notification

LedFlow only allows me pattern changes and from what I see only Green and Amber. Have you tried it and have you gotten Blue and Red and Yellow and other colors?
Noone have any information at all?
An LED's colour is a function of the hardware, and thus you cannot change it in software. It would be like giving you a can of red paint, and asking you to paint the room blue.
If only 1 color is included in the phone you won't be able to change the color..post above me was good lol

Hmmmm if we had the right tools would be able to physically change the trackpad LED colors???

When rooted, some phones have LEDs that can be changed to any color.
the point remains the same. those "some phones" are not the Desire Z nor is it a G2.
The fact remains the same: trackpad only shines white and the notification light only shines green or orange (maybe red, i'm not sure).
Refer to the post you quoted for a layman's term on why the DZ/G2 can not change to any color you want.

If by "tools" you mean a soldering iron and a bin of multicoloured LED modules, then yes.

Sure, and those phones would already have LEDs capable of doing that. But if your phone has, say, a green LED in it, you cannot somehow use software to convince it to emit any light other than green. You might as well ask if software can turn a 480x320 display into a 1280x720 one. The answer, again, is "no".

I wasnt sure if it had a LED capable of that as it the LED in it transmits orange and green.
And the display is one of the worst examples ever: You can thru software make your display display whatever resolution you want.

Led notification

I notice my led light had a purple blue led light flashing..... Then other times it's blue is something wrong with my led notification light.

No.
What a way to explain lol /\/\
Anyways I have no idea what chooses the color but it changes by app sometimes, light flow seems to work 90% on rooted devices but not much on stock devices (Last time I checked it out) I wish Samsung Would make an update for it, love the led on the BB way back in 2006 and there is nothing like it sadly

Yes and no. The US versions have issues ultimately. Some apps will yield different colors. If you're rooted, you can give light flow a try. I've had good results and bad results with it on this phone. It worked fine, then I flashed an update of the ROM, restored light flow and... it doesn't work right.
ASOP and AKOP ROMs have good control of the LED. Just know, that the phone can't do a pure white and pure yellow. It seems that the main colors are red, blue, and green. It mixed lights to get different colors.

Notification light colors?

What are all of the colors that people have found out can be make from the notification light? So far ive gotten green, blue, red, light blue, light green, and a weird light green with orange dot in the middle color.

Do you have White or Titanium ?
Lol, only three, R G B.
There is no light blue or light green, just your proximity sensor dimming the colour depending on your ambient lighting intensity. Dark room, light led, bright room, bright led.
To get custom colours, you need third party apps like Light Manager or Light Flow. However, after using Light Flow for a day, I can say, other than R G B, no colour appear to be prominent! But I've also heard this is a problem with the Grey units, but White ones, on white ones colours come out perfect it has been mentioned.

I have a white one and I can make every color but no shades.
GNoteII
The only accurate color other than r g b that the grey version is capable of is cyan. The rest are ****.

i thought LED can mix any color u like by RGB, depends on the kernel
btw, i just saw white, blue, green and red appeared on my note2
For those using Light Manager and/or Light Flow, which one has the best results on Galaxy Note 2? Any issues?
I'm reading A LOT of bad comments on Brazilian Play Store from S III users about Light Flow, and I'm afraid of messing up things here!
Don't be afraid of messing anything, if something goes wrong just uninstall the app.
And afaik, Light Manager is more consistent than Light Flow. It doesn't mess with your 'Accessibility' options. But I've seen that it drains battery in advanced mode, so better use it in Normal mode.

I was afraid because I read some comments related to an issue that messed up colors "forever". And something like eternal notifications until reboot. Of course, these could be solved with a full wipe.
Thanks for the reply.. it helps. .

[Q] Weird/non-existant notification LED colors?

Hi!
I have a Titanium Grey Note 2 running stock android, no root.
For some reason, the phone refuses to show different colors.
If I pick yellow on LightFlow, it WILL show bright green.
Purple/Magenta is a washed out grey of sorts with 3 colored spots.
Orange is lite green with the orange led lit up slightly
It only does red, blue and green accurately
This is very frustrating, part of the reason I upgraded to this phone was for the notification led, my previous phone didn't have one.
What could cause this? Hardware or software?
Does this problem exist on custom roms aswell?
same with my lenovo p770. led shows only red green only..... if you find something helpful plz update me too.
