[Q] A System War over my S3 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

So um.......where do I start? My s3 just got drowned by the cold water from the cooler that poured into my pocket which my s3 was as I was picking up my bags from my car. I did put my phone and the battery out and put into the full pack of rice to suck up the water out. After few days, It started to work again until this month. My phone is starting to get super weird and crazy, it shut off on it own and never turn on after 30 mins. Then when I lock my phone, it start to freak out, lag, shut off, turn back on for 5 sec., and shut off again.
Also, my phone is running on official OTA JB update and task's rom too. (I tired the other ROMS to resolve the problems like stock ones and it is doing the same thing too). Does it means that I have to get new phone because of the system got mess up?? :/

Problems with Tilt 2

Hey, last night my friends got into a bar fight and the bouncers came at me and one of them tried to kick me and he kicked my phone like 10 feet in the air and it hit the pavement. the phone came into 3 pieces upon impact. (the battery, cover, and the phone itself) It wouldn't turn on last night, but today I took it apart a bit to see if I could see any visible damage, when I put it back together the opening screen flashed for a second then it shuts off again. The screen does not have any damage either. What is most likely the problem that is wrong with my phone? and how should I go about getting it fixed or fixing it myself?
Well after I took the phone apart and put it back together, it turned on and is working as if nothing happened. This phone literally got shot up roughly 10 feet in the air and hit the pavement and has only a couple of scratches- none on the screen. has to be the best phone I ever had in a means of durability, but I am still wondering why it didn't work for 16 hours or so.. Any ideas?
Shock....
Might have been some components loosened (like the battery contacts, or other pieces of the chain that supply power) that somehow fell back into place after you took it apart/reassembled.
Past experience with electronics is that things don't magically fix themselves. Whatever went wrong will probably happen again, just a matter of time.

[Q] [HELP] touch panel keeps dieing!!! (orange juice damage)

Hey everyone,
I had a bit of a spill with some orange juice the other day right onto my phone.
I pulled it apart straight away and left it overnight to dry out and recover.
When i put it together in the morning it turned on fine and was working fine. I was running it as a wifi hotspot, and running some app updates and it started running like crap. really slow and unresponsive, then the touchscreen stopped working so i pulled the battery and tried to turn it back on.
It then started to not boot. It would show the splash screen and that is all. occasionally it would boot up (after a lot of waiting/pulling battery/trying again) but the touch wouldn't work and it would say it was nearly out of battery (pic of battery with cross through it)
When i boot into HBOOT (vol- and power) it shows TOUCH PANEL-fail which is obviously not good.
After a lot of stuffing around i decided to get a new touch panel... so i did.
It arrived today and i installed it no problems then the phone started just fine. I set up all my stuff again (google accounts, apps ect. cause as part of my fiddling i had wiped the phone) and it was working like a charm. no problems at all, untill i was on a phone call, about 5 minutes in it just went blank.
I pulled the battery and tried to start again and had the same problem as with the orig touch screen!!!
Again in HBOOT, and again have TOUCH PANEL-fail... WTF?!?!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well i pulled the sucker apart again, and just scratched around some terminals and whatnot and gave it a good blow out, stuck it back together and it worked again.
Got the missus to play angry birds on it on the way home and it died just at home (like 30 mins of angry birds)... then about 3 hours later i gave it another go... and now it is working again!
If it stops again i think i'll pull it apart and clean all the terminals and boards a little more, cause it seemed to really help.
Buggared,,,,,
Liquid on a mainborad, rarely seems to be fixed by "drying and etching".
Save your time and aggrevation... new phone.
OJ.... should have counteracted with baking soda... But you could dip it in this solution...... Then dry in a bowl full of rice....
Seriously, get a new phone. Or, you could have hornets and bees congregating around it in the future...
i am tempted by the idea of a new phone... but i think i would want to wait for the SE arc... problem is i need a 850/2100 version for the network i'm on.
Yeah, I know... Had a guy the other day, same situation. Saltwater from a wave.
OJ being a citric acid, and saltwater, being corrosive...
Do the math.
Hate to say it, but you'd been better off with milk...
A lot of phones are on discount nowdays, like the Desire... EDIT; Quad band, covers all the networks.
yeah i know... sadly Milk doesn't work as well with Vodka as Orange Juice does
At least you have humor....
You did a grand job of attempting to revive the life.
I can only suggest an alcohol bath... And not the drinkable kind.
And a good drying in "rice" for a couple days.
Please, no comments about the rice.
Well its still working, so happy days for now.
Still going strong now... maybe i have lucked out and fixed it?

epic 4g touch Water Damaged

well guys, i kinda left my phone sitting nexto my glass of water when i was sleeping, woke up..and the phone was off, and the battery had a RED TAB on it. SO i put it in a bag of rice for 2 days, turned it on with a new battery and it worked COMPLETELY FINE, i used it all day, that night i turned it off and when i tried to turn it on the next morning something went wrong, The galaxy S2 logo shows up, closes then pops up again, then it boots up to the main screen where my lock screen is, the touch screen doesn't work at all anymore, So i boot it up into recovery mode, and i go to try a factory reset, and the power button doesn't let me select anything.but when i hit the little menu button on the bottom left, it takes the recovery to a loading screen, so the touch screen must be working right???... SOO i thought that id try a 1 click ROM, so i tried to connect it to my computer, and the computer doesn't read it AT ALL....i put it into ODIN mode, tried connecting it again, nothing, SOOO i really dont know what to do here, it was working perfectly fine... and the WERID THING is, when it turns on to the lock screen, i can receive texts, emails, phone calls, and the phone is updating games and stuf i have installed...i just cant unlock the screen, so if ANYONE could help me here it would be greatly appreciated, Thank you
Sounds like your phone had residual moisture trapped inside and that seeped into circuits or connections and caused a short that's borking your digitizer.
Whenever you have a water mishap like that you need to disassemble your phone and pack all the pieces in rice or suspend them in front of an air conditioner while letting the cold dry air blow over and around the parts overnight.
The a/c part I know first hand because my wife toilet bombed her epic last summer, and that's what I did, reassembled the next morning and its still working fine.
Of coarse when the phone hit the water it was pulled instantly and I pulled the battery and instantly disassembled the phone.
In your case I don't know if disassembling it now will help.
You may need parts to fix it.
Start Googling. There is NO software that's going to fix your phone.

When I got my first one I went overboard off the boat I was working on. Five minutes in the water, it was toast. That was salt water though...

Liquipel, email them and ask them to officially support the Sprint GS2 as well as the AT&T & Tmobile that they already support for waterproofing, I already did and they said they'd do it, but it's not official yet cuz not enough people have been asking I think for the ET4G version.

[Q] How concerned should I be about my SGS3?

This is a bit of a long story but I need advice and I'm not sure where else to go. I have the phone rooted but the only thing I've done is install KT747.
I'm not sure if it's related but I'll open with that about 6 months ago I dropped it in the bathtub (dumb as hell I know), took it to the sprint store and BSed them about what happened. They opened it up, saw the water indicator/water, called me on my BS, dried it off and cleaned the contacts with rubbing alcohol and my phone came back.
Fast forward to Tuesday, at work with my phone plugged into my laptop it cut off and would simply not come back on. The samsung logo would come up and then the KT747 "Kernel Domination" screen for a moment but then it would cut off. The phone would be on for maybe 3 seconds total. Even if I tried to boot into recovery or even download mode the same thing would occur (I think one time I got it to show the flash count and all that jazz in download mode). As the water indicator will still show water damage and you can clearly tell I've rooted it I was worried I might be screwed out of a phone, but I thought I was screwed the last time I went to sprint so I left to go do that, half way between work and the sprint store my phone cut back on in my pocket. Over the next day and a half it had similar problems but eventually came back (quicker than the first time). And now it's been running well for 3 days.
I've been doing some research on google and I've seen something about a motherboard defect that can cause sudden death, but I think this might be the international S3. It's really hard to tell what's what. Also I saw someone say it could be a battery issue so I ordered a new one but I'm still concerned this might not be the issue.
It's working fine now but I'm in constant fear my phone will just die any moment now.

If it was working fine before you dropped it in the water, then that's probably the cause. I doubt it's sudden death syndrome if there were no signs of shutting on and off before you dropped it in the water.

But would I expect to see problems from water damage so long after the contact with water? I figured if there were going to be problems from the water it would have happened much quicker than this. Like I said the water damage was MONTHS ago.
Sounds like SDS power button failure. Very common on S3.

[Q] Is my "m" pretty much dead?

My Xperia m suddenly turned off while I am using and it is not turning on... neither it is charging nor I can get it into flash mode or boot mode. NOTHING!!!.. It falls into the sink full of water 5 months back.. But it was running until now... is my cell dead?: (
Happened on my good old ace. I acedantly (pun indeed) spilled tea over it. I quickly started to dry it and it all seemed good. After 3 months it fell into the deep abyss and didn't get back.
