[Q] Xperia Ion - Sudden Low Incall Volume - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hello to everyone.
After testing one custom ROM (Carbon) and while everything was fine, suddenly one afternoon the in-call volume lowered very much, so that I can't hear in a noisy environment. I don't know if the problem was caused by the ROM, I just tell the history. Then, I tried 2-3 other custom ROMs hoping that the problem will be solved, but nothing happened. Finally I got back to the stock ROM 4.1.2, (full wipe, data, cache etc. everything) having the same hope. But unfortunately, again nothing happened. I have also tried various volume control apps, but can't restore the max in-call sound.
In stock ROM, I checked the earphone in the service tests and the sound seems perfect, so i assume that it is not a hardware problem, but I cant be sure. Is there any possibility that this is a software problem? Does anybody have in mind any solution or idea to try? I checked 2 threads for a similar problem, but couldn't find any.

i have the same problem in call volume is too low for me

problems with sound volume in B&B4.1 lite

hi there
after installing B&B4.1 lite (also with 4.0), i cant change phone speaker volume anymore during a phone call. the "switch" works fine, i see the volume indicator on the display changing according to how i press the button, but the volume itself doesnt change at all.
this occurs only during phone calls. i can perfectly set system or ringtone voulme using the same switch.
this is a bit troublesome in very loud or very quiet places, when either i cant hear anything or everyone else hears everything
i know that some others also have this problem when using B&B4.x ROMs. did anyone find a solution for this?
(with my original WM5 rom everything works perfectly.)

Hi There, the only way i could solve this issue was to install B&B4.1 Lite, that problem went away.
not sure what the correct fix for it is sorry.
thx. but that doesnt help me much, since i am already running 4.1 lite (sorry, forgot to mention that)
however, if you had this problem and it went away after installing 4.1 lite, i will investigate in that general direction
I got problem with B&B 4.0
sometime it automatically turn speaker ON, cann't turn it OFF again.

[Q] Speaker Randomly Stopped Working?

Howdy all,
The other day my other halfs' Wildfires' speaker decided to stop working for no reason. Can still make phonecalls etc, and the headphones work, but its like its stuck on silent all the time!
Read somewhere it could be to do with a recently installed app, so factory reset it but no change. Also saw it could be something to do with something in the headphone socket not clicking back properly when they are removed, but she's never used the headphones, but tried that anyway, still with no luck.
Never been flashed or anything, totally standard.
Any ideas?
Many thanks, Tarq

Perhaps it is me, but what do you mean by this?
1. You cannot go out of silent mode in terms of "set phone volume to vibrate or noice" by using the volume buttons. In that case:
- make sure that your volume buttons work (by using them to regulate audio of, for example, your radio).
- try if you can solve the problem by going into "options of your phone - sound".
If they do not work, try to flash a ruu. If still not solved, I'm afraid you should open your phone to see if the connectors of the volume buttons are still in place (i've had this with my previous phone). But perhaps wait for other advice before doing so
2. You can get out of the silent ringer mode, but still the phone doesnt make any noice. My best guess then is that it related to software in the system folder which controls your device at the system level, or perhaps with the kernel?
I do not know if the the systemfolder is restored when you do a factory reset..
It couldn't do harm if you flash a ruu in my opinion. The all software related issues are ruled out then.
It can't be the hardware as you can still hear people talking to you while phoning without headset. Nor can it be a messed up jack-in, as all the sound should be transfered to the headphone, and it shouldn't be possible to call and here people without headset.
To summerize: I think it is still software, and that it should be possible to solve it by flashing a kernel or restoring bynusing a RUU.

[Q] Call Volume Problem

On my d2att if I lower the in call volume all the way down the volume is loud on the next call. On the 2nd call if I move the volume up two clicks the volume returns to a low setting?? This seems to have started with 4.4 roms, but I haven't tried loading something older to confirm this. Initially thought it was from dirty flashes but I've done a few clean since. I have tried slim and cm11 and had the same issue. I also tried updating the firmware from LK3 to MG2. Anybody else experience this or know a fix?
Thanks
Jason

Audio problems on HTC One M8

I have a strange issue on my stock HTC One M8 (unlocked) which has been converted to a GPe using the tools on here.
I am running vanilla, OTA-pushed 5.0.1, and everything works great apart from the audio. If my phone has been on for a period of time, when I make or receive calls there is no audio through the speaker or earpiece, and the phone doesn't ring like it should.
I didn't have this problem with 4.4.4 before the 5.0.1 OTA update, so it feels like a Lollipop issue or some hardware that's malfunctioned.
My volume settings are fine (ALL profile, max. volume for ringer).
When this happens, the only way I can make or receive calls with any audio is to reboot the phone. I've tried airplane mode, fiddling with sound settings... *everything* I can think of... but a reboot is the only thing that solves it.
Does anyone else have this problem or know what the solution may be?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried a factory reset? Random bugs like this are often (although not always) due to pre-existing settings or apps, and may be resolved by doing a factory reset. If experiencing bugs after an OTA, its the first thing I recommend.

I tried all 7.0 roms but the sound is still very small

and I also flashed arise 2.9.4
still same, the sound would go normal in 1-2 second, then goes very small, hardly heard,
If anyone have same problem pls help me,
i have the same sound issue, it seems that no one experience the problem or maybe they have no idea what i'm talking about. The sound notification sounds louder than MM, but media volume goes from 100% to about 50% (or less) approx.
I've tried some mods in mixer_paths.xml but no changes, same results replacing MM mixer paths in Nougat system.
Just a nougat bug maybe...
Perform a hard reset and also do a wipe cache partition.
I'm from Brazil, I have the same problem and I'm talking to the company about a possible exchange of the device.
