Hi everybody! I'm about to make an exchange between my S5 and a Htc One M8 with someone online. I buy my S5 with a carrier so the phone is register on my name. The guy want me to send my imei to check if the phone is not blacklisted. It is okay to give him or its dangerous?
Thank you

I have done this a few times and as long as that ESN number is active on your account, to my knowledge they can't do anything with it.

I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe call your carrier to see what they recommend is the best method.

unlock it like everyone else dude, use GOOGLE and search for network unlocking one x, theres at least 30 sites i just counted, some ya dont need to pay, payment is taken by calling a premium rate phone number, average call cost, £5 to £10, but thats what itd cost anyway to unlock it.
Hey guys so I found a GS4 a while ago and I unlocked it but when I turn it on I can't connect to T-Mobile network but it does connect to AT&T. So long story short I took it to the cellphone shot where I unlocked it and he told me that in order to make it work for T-Mobile he had to clone the GSM. Does anyone here ever heard of that and is it even possible

its because its blacklisted on tmobile, because it was reported as lost. I know what they want to do to get it to work, and it is illegal and can not be discussed on XDA.
Thanks I just wanted to know what that means. I never heard of it and I wanted to know what in the heck was that .

I think it means " return to its rightful owner! "
I'm just sayin!

Don't be a ****. When you found the phone, you took it away from someone who has lost it. Return the phone to its rightful owner. Go through the contacts and find a contact for 'Mom' or something of the sort to get closer to finding the owner.
Don't worry guys I just gonna go to T-Mobile and turn it in I can't even use it anyway and I am due for a upgrade by November. I still don't know what in heck is that

Sell it on eBay or craigslist

What it is, is that they clone the IMEI of a good phone and use it on that one. This is highly illegal. As for deleting it. I will close it.

Thank you, but i should have stated that my device cannot be S-OFFed for the moment with firewater (the whelp message)
This is why i am asking for any other solution.
I've use cellunlocker.net for several phones and it's worked perfectly everytime.
Yup like Cell unlocked.net works good like @Randomjoel said. I unlocked about 5 phones using it and got it less than 2 hours sometimes less than a hour .

No idea. I just checked and had the same thing though so now I'm curious too.
You need to have a locked bootloader?
If you have unlocked your bootloader then you can't redeem the additional 50GB offer.

Had the same issue. Just contact Google Drive Support Chat and ask them to get it done for you from their side.

If the phone is AT&T, you will need to put in a different carrier sim , it will ask you to enter the code.

The Tmobile M9 and S6 need to be unlocked differently. You need to have paid for the phone in full and had tmobile service for 40 days. Then call tmobile and they'll unlock it.
If you want to get around that you have to flash a international rom (its in the dev section) and then you can use your code.
Side note...I thought you had tmobile?
