Slimmest Note 2014 Case? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Accessories

Hi all,
Just curious to see if anybody can point me to a good quality, ultra-slim case for my new 2014 (my second one, using it mainly for play while the other is for work). I've tried the usual MoKo, iPoetic, etc. cases and while they're great and cheap, I'm looking for something even thinner that's form fitting. I've done countless searches but all I can find are essentially the rebranded types of cases that I mentioned above. Is there anything like this out there? Thanks!

I'm not sure how thin you're going for, but the Poetic Slimline adds almost nothing, fits perfectly, and it's been great for travel use.

I did a little review on a slim case that adds no measurable size over in the cases thread. I still use both of these - the slim case on all of the time and the sleeve for storage.

OK, I'm back with a couple of cases I have picked up.
First, the BuiltNY Neoprene Sleeve for iPads. Once I got it, I figured it was designed for an iPAD2 with a case on it. It is a bit big, but not huge. It has a foam insert for packing, and if you leave it in, it fits the Note 10.1 well.

I also just got a slim case shipped from Hong Kong. It is very thin and does improve the grip of the Note. I'm not a fan of the back and sides of the Note, and this is an improvement without adding much size. It covers the buttons, but they are easily pushed through the case. It is very thin, so protection is pretty minimal, but it covers the corners. Quality isn't perfect, but it isn't bad.

This. It's super slim and feels nice.

Incipio has a nice shell style case, but its kind of pricey for just having a thin piece of plastic on the back of your tab. I still love mine though. The grey rubberized finish looks great on the white tablet and hides that ugly, flimsy back cover

[Q] Best thin case for Captivate

What is the best thinnest case for the samsung captivate!
Don't know what your parameter for "thin" is but I found the TPU cases from ebay to be the best. I had tried a BodyGlove case and a generic silicone case but found them too thick (the silicone case looked ugly too IMO - dull & attracted too much lint). The TPU case I got from ebay has been great - glossy yet grippy. Adds about a mm top & bottom.
I have tried three different cases and found that thr "Body Glove" seems to be the one I end up using the most. It is very thin, tight fitting and feels good while holding the phone. There are really several good choices around. This is of course IMHO.

i use the bodyglove case with the diagonal lines on the back. my brother uses the sedio one that snaps in 2 and has the smooth body. the body glove is a little thinner and looks more stylish. both are around 15-20 dollars. i prefer the body glove one because of the back actually, just adds a little touch to an otherwise plain looking phone. both are nice because they dont pick up dust and lint like the cheapo 2 dollar ones. you can tell quality by the seams of the rubber and smell. you get what you pay for. if your phone is worth 400, why spend 2 dollars on a case right?

How much protection are you wanting exactly?
Just picked up the Body Glove yesterday. Really like it, doesn't collect dust and very thin. Good fit also.

Cheap, looks good (can't really see the pattern except at a certain angle), protects great, and is the thinnest protective case I've seen.
Check these out. They are not as sticky as regular silicone skins and they are fairly thin + cheap.

Body Glove is pretty darn thin. I have one but I replaced it with the Otterbox Commuter, just to change things up. Commuter is a bit thicker but I don't mind it at all so I am sticking with it. I do recommend the Body Glove though. Good sleeve.
Plus one for body glove.
Its perfect. Smooth enough that it comes out of pocket easy, but grippy enuff that I can throw it on dashboard without it flying off with the first turn I make.
I also think it looks great, fits perfectly, and I can hold the phone without dropping it-which is the reason I wanted it in the first place
are you looking for a hard case or skin? body glove or a tpu skin is your best bet for the thinnest protection but if you want a hard case then check out Seidio innocase surface
I just got a Xmatrix case (I think its a knock off as its not rubberized anywhere) but the fit is great and gives you a near naked feel. Covers the back and adds a bit to the front edge so the screen does not touch a flat surface if you lay it face down.

Looks just like a TPU case which if you don't mind having a not as fancy case you can get the Amzer one on amazon for $5 shipped and the knockoff ones on ebay for about $3-4 shipped. But the case you linked to is one very nice looking case.
All nice looking cases. I may have to try the TPU out. Looks nice.

+1
That Amzer case does it's job very well. It protects, looks good, thin and is subtle in a good way. The fact that it is now ~$6.00 makes it an absolute steal. I usually don't buy cheap stuff for my phone (or for anything for that matter) but this case performs like a $20 case.
Only issue I have with it is that mine seem to be less snug than it was when I first got it. I only take off my case when I have to do a battery pull so it's a bit surprising that it got loose so easily. I recently bought a Otterbox Commuter to replace this case because I was getting bored with it but I wouldn't say I changed because it was necessary; it was just cause I was bored and I found a good deal for it.
+1 for the xmatrix case. It's a hard case but very slim and is a good fit without any movement or shuffling. Plus, there is a minor lip on the front so you can rest it face down.
It snaps on in the back...just one piece.
Body glove for sure best slim streamline case

Very slim cases for the Galaxy S2?

Right now the only option I have seen is the Case-Mate barely there case.
What other options are out there? I want them to be as thin as possible.
I have the i9100 global version.
There's nothing thinner than diabloskinz (see demos on youtube).
It will add "some" protection, without the added bulk of a full size case.
i use cygnett form.. very slim. you can also try capdase or momax
SGP ultra thin air, for a barely there feeling
I use incipio NGP case.
Tis niceeeee

Just bought this case from ebay.
Very slim but still I prefer a little thicker case.
I have the Nillkin one. Bought from here:

It took some time to arrive but it's pretty good.
I have the Case Mate BARELY THERE frome here :
http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Ga...te-Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-Barely-There-Cases.asp
It's seems the same form factor as the Nillkin.
The price is different.
The case mate is like the back of my old htc Hero, very smooth.
You have access to all the buttons and you can put any Jack 3,5mm without conflicts.

I dont usually buy on ebay so i cant help much there. But i can tell you all the cases ive tried.
Otterbox Defender - did not fit well so i did not purchase at the store. Screen protector is lousy. Phone rattled in case.
Casemate Toughcase - again did not fit my gsm nexus well. Gaps in silicone and i do not like the larger than necessary gap between the usb and headphone plugs. Also was a dust magnet. Should have learned my lesson with the first toughcase i tried for my galaxy s.
Diztronic TPU - have two of these. Rev 1 both in matte black and matte smoke. Great cases except the volume rocker section but Rev 3 should address that. I recommend.
Rearth Ringke Slim - currently using this case. Color i have is matte black and it is a great case.
Case Mate POP! It is not too bulky, offers good protection, good grip without attracting lint. Fits the extended battery perfectly.

I have the casemate pop and Love it, but I need to use my ebay bucks so I figured why not get another case.
Had 3 cases for my Nexus as my review for them are as follows:
Case-Mate Barely There - Price was too high considering the kind of case you were getting. As it's known for, it provides very little protection but was also very slim. I would have less issue with it if it covered the top and bottom of the phones fully but it oddly didn't. With it on, it looked more like a shell instead of a case. I would not recommend this as it seems like you are paying for brand name here. Might as well get a full body protector from Zagg or Ghost Armor instead of this IMO.
Otterbox Commuter - This was a good case. If you are looking for something that will protect your phone without being extreme (like using the Defender) then this is perfect. Adds bulk for protection but also looks great as well. Best of both worlds and recommended for those that want above average protection while not needing it to look like a beast. Fairly difficult to take off so don't get it if you get into opening up your phone a lot.
Diztronic TPU Matte Smoke Grey - This was the best of the bunch for me. Price wise, it can't be beat at $10.00 with a workable screen protector. Looks wise, smoke grey is beautiful on the Nexus as it looks natural (Nexus is grey to begin with). It adds only a little bulk so it doesn't look like a case swallowed your phone. Feel wise, matte is definitely the way to go. I've had glossy cases before and it always left grime, oil, and fingerprints. Matte feels and looks very clean and provides a little grip. Protection wise, I'd say it provides average protection. I've always used TPU cases and they can take drops from normal heights. TPU is fine for my rather un-extreme lifestyle. Finally, Diztronic's customer service is top notch. Had an issue with the volume keys and they are sending me out a replacement case with the keys cut out. No need to return the old one. Would definitely buy from them again because of that as I have high confidence that they can rectify any issues.
So there you have my mini-reviews. It is obvious that I favor Diztronic as they seem to hit the sweet spot for my preferences. Best of all words in all the things that are important to me.
Hope you guys find a case that works well for you too.

Case-Mate Tough Case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420043 they're working on it.
I had bought a Case Mate Tough skin case for my phone, and it's had a lot of issues with the power button fit, it would turn off and on by touching the area anywhere near it. I looked around case-mate.com and noticed this case is not on their website, so I contacted Case Mate and they say it's a known issue, and are going to ship me a new one when they come in sometime during in the next 2-4 weeks.. Good customer relations.

Ghost Armor...
No added bulk, adds just enough extra grip, protects from scuffing/scratching. Obviously, not gonna give the same shock protection in a fall.. but then I've seen guys with TPU cases drop the phone and shatter a screen. (with gorilla glass)

Just got my Seidio Active today. As with all Seidio cases, it is awesome. I had the Incipio double case from Verizon, which is a similar concept. But the Active is a lot smoother and looks way better. Great amount of protection, minimal bulk. I actually prefer the way it feels with the case on compared to bare. It gives a nice feeling to the volume/power buttons.
As a bonus, I got the Royal Blue one, and the color perfectly matches the blue theme of ICS. I highly recommend it. There is also a version with a kickstand, too. Here is a link to what I got.
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSK3SSGNL-RB
I'm a bit of a Seidio fanboy, as all of my devices have Active cases on them. But you can't really beat the protection and style. No huge logos, and the color of the hard shell really gives it a nice look. Dropping the phone with the case on barely does anything to the case, let alone the phone.

I have the kickstand-ed version and I must agree that it is a really well designed enclosure system. Works really well with the extended battery/cover. My previous Seidio case was the Active Extended for the Thunderbolt and that setup was the main reason why I decided on Seidio.
This is my favorite case and its probably the best value.

Yeah the TPU case is pretty neat I had one on my nexus and it felt smooth. Protection wise was ok I still didn't feel comfortable with it falling. I have the D30 case and it is slim lightweight and adds hardly any bulk. The downside is that the buttons are a bit hard to press and may take some getting used to. Their is a trick to work around it, but that's up to you. I think with either you won't go wrong, the silicon ones are terrible and get stuck in your pocket and provide minimal protection.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?
If you want the THINNEST case the "incipio feather ultralight hard case" but be warned: all the research I've done indicates that case won't do jack **** if you drop your phone as one reviewer put it, its a cosmetic accessory not a protective one.
I went with the diztronix tpu case that the guy above with Amazon link has except in matte black. Its amazing adds little bulk and protects against falls pretty well. Its also matte on the back so it doesn't get stuck going in jeans, etc. Like other tpu cases do.

I've been using these TPU cases for 3 years or so now. Nexus One, G2x, Xoom, and now my SGS2.
I also like that they're easy take on and off for a quick battery pull or going into a dock. Even after multiple pull ons and offs, they don't stretch, sag, tear. They are great for the price.

There's another option that someone on XDA mentioned which requires sticking a small bit of paper to the inside of both buttons. He also included pictures in the post (do a search). This way you don't cut into your d30 case and reduce the life of the buttons. I found some glossy paper from an ad, a little bit thicker than normal print paper, and used a small piece of scotch tape to attach it underneath the buttons. It worked like a charm.

Extra thin case? Totallee or something cheaper?

I'm looking for the thinnest, sleekest case possible for my s10+. Does anybody have any experience with the totallee cases? They look nice, and they get mentioned in all the case roundup articles. But $29 is super pricey for a thin case like this.

This one looks interesting. Hard to tell from the photos though - how much of a "lip" does it have at the top and the bottom? Any edge at all to protect the screen?

Personally, I am a fan of the Pitaka cases. Pricey, but at least for a reason. I made some pictures:

That looks great, but not sure if I can swing a $50 case - especially when I'm already springing for the $50 screen protector!

Really none, it's basically flush. When I set the phone face down with that case on it kind of feels like the screens not touching but I can't slide a piece of paper under it.
Here are some photos I just took.
I have the totalee case, fit and finish is whats expected from these kinda cases, which is what I love, but if you can find the same thing cheaper from another brand buy it, they really are all the same.
Check out MNML. Almost identical to Totallee, but much less expensive (around $18 with shipping and first time buyers discount). They ship from China, so expect 2-3 weeks for shipping.

https://rhinoshield.io/pages/crashguard look at the drop test, 11 feet, no harm.
I used to have a Peel case for my Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 3 XL. They were really thin, had a white-ish variant that showed some transparency. I was thinking about getting one for my S10+, but ended up sticking with Samsung's silicone case. I like the grip.

What do y'all think? Is there anything better or cheaper than this one?

Usually these non brand PP cases are 99 cents from China since this is X-Level branded it's a little more. I replace every few months because over time from wireless charging or heat, corners tend to expand.

I have the clear Totalee but for $28.99 it yellows too quick. I use the clear X-Level but going to try this one in clear white - I used the crystal for my Pixel 3 and replaced every 2-3 months but seemed like thinner better case than Totallee for the money
I have 3 thin cases:
Pitaka - Most expensive, somewhat slippery, carbon fibre material gets dirty quickly with palm grease / sweat, Looks good, no raised corners for placing phone screen down.
Nillkin Frosted Shield - Has raised corners, good grip, cheap, looks decent.
Spigen Thin Fit Air (Black) - Skinniest and grippiest of the 3. Soft feel material shows palm grease / sweat. No raised corners. Note: I can only vouch for grip on the black version (soft feel). Spigen cases in non-black colours can be slippery (no soft feel material).
I use Nillkin the most whenever I need a slim case. It's the perfect balance of grip, looks and raised corners.

Tried one of these and ended up sending it back. The sandstone finish started peeling and flaking off after about two days.
Then I tried one of the leather cases from ESR; I liked the feel of the Samsung leather case but didn't want to pay $50 for it. That one was a bust too. The case was thicker than I expected, and the corners didn't sit flush against the phone. Bummer.
So I went ahead and ordered the Totallee. It'll be here tomorrow, and I'll report back!
I have the Pitaka one and I like it a lot. Super thin... Don't drop the phone.

The Totallee case is really nice. Unbelievably thin, and a great fit. Not sure if it'll survive too many drops, but it's super comfy to hold and it looks awesome. Nice little lip around the camera bump, but not obtrusive like on the Spigen thin case. No lip on the front though. I'll be getting a Whitestone Dome Glass shortly, and I don't think it'll have any problems fitting with this case.
Two tiny complaints. One, it's a little more slippery than I expected. The smooth finish on the solid black case doesn't provide much in the way of grip. And finally, the case is just about the same thickness as the phone's buttons, so the buttons now sit more or less flush with the sides of the case. Makes it a little harder to find the buttons by feel, but I'll probably get used to that pretty quickly.
All in all, I'm extremely glad I spent the few extra bucks for this one. The Pitaka looks awesome too, but this was about as high as my price range could go and it's a good choice for me.
In my experience, Totallee cases are better compare with their direct competitors such as MNML. I also have tried cheap ultra thin cases as well and i can say that those from Totallee are with better quality and fit. With proper care, it will fit your device nicely for a long time.
I use the ultimate shield cases, its at least as good as totalee for lower cost.

Spigen thin fit is 10$ and unbelievably thin, you won't even realize it's there
