Help with Desire HD!

Hi, my a9191 is not booting, stuck on HTC logo. I realize is S-ON after I try to instal a custom rom. It's rooted and unlocked with recovery installed. The model is a9191 rus. i have been looking for stock firmware but can't find it. Please help. BR

I haven't been able to read the cid and I got it unlocked.

Problem solved! After several fail attempts with stock firmwares and different SDcards I just got the 7.1.0 Cynogenmod installed successfully by installing the boot.bin after via fastboot. So far so good with this rom. I'll try with the latest ICS update later on. Thanx for all the help!:good:

My DHD not booting...!

Hai guys.
my dhd is not booting. :S very sorry my english is very bad
Bootloader: Unlocked
Bootloader version: 2.00.0029
S-ON
my device does not turn on any kind of. i've tried 4 rom but dont starting. and I can not get usb debug mode!
What can i do guys? please help me. :S im last remedy this forum...

If its not booting, how did you try 4 ROMs?

Well, you probably used htc dev to unlock your bootloader which uses a different flashing method. You need to flash the rom.img using fastboot (coffee hasn't kicked in so I can't remember). Check the guide in my signature, second post for instructions.

Hi, old xda guy to a new forum.I have an r8000at, but I cant manage to root it. I can't unlock the bootloader, and all this unlock stuff is new to me. I just want to root it. Anyway possible?

It would just stop at step 7, it wouldn't do anything after that.

You can flash superuser.zip in recovery if you unlock your bootloader. why do you say you cant?

When i check to see if bootloader can be unlocked by putting in the numbers and pound, it isnt there. :/

No.... it will show "yes" or "no"

The 'bootloader unlock allowed: yes' doesnt always ahow up. It depends on the android version and some other things. Anyway, if it shows no value for it or it even doesnt show up at all, it means you cannot unlock you BL, not at least by IMEI code method. It is possible through a paid method by alejandrissimo, a well known and trusted member of xda. Just take a look on unlock-bootloader.com (maybe its free now, I dont know)
For unrooting, you should try flashtool (zerg-rush), or the unroot tool, maybe they work on r800at

Try the Zerg rush method in the develpers forum. look for it. just type Zerg Rush on the search bar... when i had my play with stuck, that was the way I got it rooted...

i want to know that if the bootloader also be unlocked? how to check?

try the method in the Sony Unlock Bootloader Web site, there you can find how to know if it's and if you can unlock it..

Desire Z, S-OFF and problem

Hi,
I hav problem with unlocking (S-OFF) my HTC Desire Z. I do all steps like HTC want on htcdev.com but when I using cmd and write fastboot oem get_identifier_token I get INFO[ERR] command error...
Can anybody help me with S-OFF... ?

You can not get s-off through the official HTC unlocked bootloader. Skip all of this and go to the xda wiki, follow instructions on how to downgrade and root there

Yup, but why on htcdev.com we can... ? It's official trick to get off security...

Well it isn't, all it does is allow minimal security flags to be removed, enough to open up a few fastboot commands. It can allow you to flash a custom ROM but it will not give you s-off and it will give more headaches then anything else

hello not sure if im in the right place for this post so sorry in advance
i recently purchaced a htc desire hd its on 2.3.5 im loking to root it etc..
every guide ive followed or seen doesnt seem to work. ive managed to unlck bootloader from htc dev but i feel ive hit a dead end.. any help appreciated thankyou.

I don't know what guides you followed but get used to reading the stickies that is where the useful information is located:

If you already unlocked the bootloader, then just flash a custom recovery and then Superuser.

Rooted now. How can I s-off ontop of root.

That is the only way to gain S-OFF right now. Why you need S-OFF btw?

No reason really, fastbooting the .img I'm simple. But s-off makes it a little easier

One thing I've noticed is that ky recovery does NOT restore backups. Md5 mismatch. Would this be a ad card problem or recovery its self. Tried flashing 4ext but needed s-off

Not true...how are you trying to do it?

Downloaded it from google. I selected flash and it said error trying to flash please make sure your device is s-off.

Flashed it now. I dragged the recovery.img to my pc then fastbooted it. Works fine except it wont back up it hangs on genarating md5 sums
