The process Com.android.phone has stopped in dialer after unlock - Sprint LG G2

After the sim unlock on the dialer every time I'm trying to call a number I get this error.
This doesn't happen when I call. A contact thru the "call log" so basically I can't call anyone. I can call people only if they call me and are in call log.
Any help?
I've tried:
restarting
Clear cache in phone app
Get a new dialer app.
No use. Any advise?
Stock rooted lg 4.4.2 software

I believe this is because you need to add a 1 to your numbers before calling. Its random why. Some people have to, others don't. I suspect it's related to carriers. If that is your problem, use this app to add a 1 to all your contacts. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maplekeycompany.apps.numberfixer

Yep thanks. That did the trick.
Also do you happen to know if this rooted phone will lose root or the unlock if I do a factory restore?
Stock Rom. No custom recovery. Did both local and permanent unlock.

try changing the network type to GLOBAL, that worked for me

You need to make changes in the build.prop file. check this thread out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798566 and make the changes in the build.prop file. had the same problem, got it solved with these changes.

LS980 com.android.phone stop working
Dear all... all the work i have done is quite simple
Step One.
1. Reboot your Android device into Restore mode
2. Wipe cache data
3. Again reboot your Android device into Restore mode
4. restore/factory reset
5. power off phone
6. hard reset phone (volum UP + Power button)
hard reset your phone and enjoy... your OS must work fine now... i have done this with my LS980 sprint set...
reply

I flashed and unlocked my Sprint LG LS980 G2 to permanent GSM. Its working fine but the problem is that it does not see my contacts stored on my sim card and does not keep call logs. Also, any time I end calling or receiving call, it displays "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped." Please help me somebody. God bless you

[Q] [SOLVED] Stuck on 1x

Hey, I'm running cm7 and I've been stuck on 1x for only god knows how long. I know there is 3g around because when I first got the phone it worked. After flashing different roms it seems to not want to connect to 3g anymore at all. Why is this?
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
call sprint and see if there is an outage
Are you somehow stuck on roam only?
You might need to reset your phone through obtaining your MSL code. I flashed my friend's phone incorrectly in the past before lost his 3G.

I think this may be my problem. I do roam sometimes when I never had before. What should I do in order to fix this?
I am pretty sure there isn't an outage because my friend on sprint has been tooling around on 3g.
I'm able to toggle between the 1x and 4g, but I can't connect to 3g. :-/

Bump.
I'm still having the same issue. Can anybody guide me through getting back to 3G? Would be much appreciated.

+1 .
If I just switched to the stock kernel and then back to the savaged zen one I'm using now, could this fix my error? Just a thought.

I had this exact sh_t happen to me after a flight from Portland to Boston. What I had to do was flash Sense, wipe, then re-flash CM7 (I think it was Deck's ROM).
See if that helps

Eh.. I mighta been usin' Tiamat (this was like 4 mos ago).
This really works!
I had the same exact problem and this worked for me. I found it on goodandevo.net
After following these directions I upgraded to the latest prl and maintain 3g.
'Turn off your GPS. Dial ##3282#, and select Edit. Enter your MSL, then go to Data Profile. Push the menu button, then tap on Restore. Push OK to reboot. Allow the phone to go through hands-free activation, but WATCH YOUR PHONE CAREFULLY AND PRESS CANCEL WHEN IT BEGINS TO UPDATE PRL.'
Found this in the comments here: http://www.goodandevo.net/2011/09/stuck-at-1xrtt-on-your-htc-evo-3d-heres-how-to-get-3g-back.html
Obviously, first you will have to flash a ROM that has working EPST, after restoring 3g, it should hold thru all following flashes.
I have this problem occur on CM7 randomly as well. I just turn off mobile data for about 5 mins then turn it back on and it seems to fix the problem. Least till the next time.

I've followed your instructions and I read up on that website. I've dragged the two files on to my SDcard and placed the one it told me to in system/app. Rebooted my phone and tried to type in ##3282# and nothing happens. It just dials the number. There isn't an option for me to press edit and type in a MSL code. I press menu and there isn't even an option similar to that. I read up that it's probably due to me using a third party dialer. I am using cm7, so is there a way for me to just show the stock dialer for a second to do this and then go back to the dialer that is set for cm7?

I think the simpliest thing to do would be to flash a stock rom and make your changes and then flash back to your prefered rom. Thats what I did. Flash the stock rom, use EPST and then flash back to CM7. You should have working 3g.

I would ask in the rom specific thread. You're more likely to get someone with experience with that rom to answer.

He can't post there most likely since he has only 2 posts. I had an issue with Viper like this but thought it was related to Hurricane Sandy....
One morning I grab my phone off the usb (computer) and it says Vodafone instead of VZW on the lock screen. Hmmm. Reboot and nothing changes. Can't send of receive texts or connect to 3g but phone works. I tried pulling battery, sim card....to no avail. As a last resort I wiped data and it has worked since with no issue although that forced me to re-install all my apps.
Hope this helps.

Can you send MMS?

Did you clean flash?
Is it only on that ROM?

Just had to flash back to Stock since i couldn't quite get it right. I Could make calls, i checked my APN Settings and everything looked normal,my Imei was still there but i never tried sending MMS(although i knew i couldn't receive them). If i ever wanna flash back to this Rom(not sure if i did it right the first time) any good tips on how to do it correctly without having this problem again? Thanks.
without knowing what caused the problem we can't tell you anything new to help you prevent it.
you're going to keep hearing "clean flash, full wipe, see if the problem's there still" because we don't know everything about your phone and what could be causing your problem, and a full wipe solves many problems.

This may sound tedious but I'd reinstall an app at a time and try to send a message. Something is interfering. Are you restoring through Google or titanium backup? Are you restoring system data if you are using titanium? That can cause problems...

you could try Settings > More > Mobile Networks > APN and choose Reset to default (which should be read off your sim). Restart your S3 and test your data connections.
i'm assuming you're not using straight talk or anything but at&t on your phone, correct? mms dont send over wifi

Correct. Ive messed around with the APN settings on previous installs (Reset to Default and Reboot) and the problem is still there... Might have to give it another try after i flash this rom again. Although there was an Occasion where i did that (Reset to Default and Reboot) and it worked but only for a short amount of time then MMS fails again.

[Q] Dialer app force closing in JB 4.3

I was wondering if anyone can help.
I flashed @fireb33's deodoxed 4.3 stock ROM over my previous TeamEOS JB ROM and now the Dialer App constantly force closes. I can receive calls, and if I attempt to make a call from the Contacts App, it dials out fine. Just that everytime I press the phone handset icon (Dialer), it FC's.
I tried fixing permissions in TWRP with no luck. Wiped cache, delvik cache over and over, rebooted. No fix.

You should have done a full wipe before flashing 4.3.
Only do dirty flashes if you're upgrading the same rom

I have the same problem. I think the problem is in sim data. com.android.phone crashes because it can not handle a string longer than expected. When reading the SIM, it sends more data than expected com.android.phone and hangs. I tried to change the sim by another operator and the error message does not appear.
I hope that helps,

You flashed stock version of gapps. You need to make Google dialer the default dialer in settings.
