Sounds Like You Flashed A Recovery For Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus on your gio!
To Flash VIA Odin, Install Samsung USB Driver For Mobile Phones By @SamHaLeKe :good: and make sure you are not using win 8.1 :fingers-crossed:

well yeah i tried various USB ports... I have managed to do something.. although it is still strange..
I downloaded all ODIN versions... as I sais before the 4.42 didnt see my phone... as any other 4xxxx version...
the only versions that did see my phone when connected were: 1.85 - 1.87 and the 3.09, I repeat 4.42 NOT working...
so tried to flash there... but only errors came up for some reason.... I had downloaded some recoveries for the phone so I tried flashing them. That worked. I got a success.
I tried flashing: stockrecovery-DXKT4-odin.tar
cwm-5.0.2.7-ext4+rfs-odin.tar
cwm-5.0.2.7-ext4only-odin.tar
they were all successfully installed but I just cant flash a firmware,,,, :/
Now when the Phone boots up I get the samsung logo and afer that the yellow exclamation mark!
Though I cant boot in any of the recoveries I previously flashed!!
thank you!!

Try the usb drivers from this link, they should work perfectly. You can use the other files, like the recovery's and gio ops as wel from that link.
Whatever happens to my phone, I use these files to repair my gio and till now, I always succeeded...

That's not a Gio (S5660) DUDE, That's a Mini 2 (S6500), you need Mini 2 firmware for flashing stock via ODIN (v3.04).
Happy Flashing
P.S: Odin (v4.42) is only for Gio and related models.

So, I have tried time and time again, and am still no closer to getting my phone rooted. I have spent hours reading all over these forums, and Google in general, and have yet to get a straight answer to my question as to why my phone refuses to root.
I am thankful for the advice offered, such as trying SuperOneClick that does... well, nothing. [Says my device has no drivers, yet,. Windows sees my phone as an Android device, and the program generally locks up after]. Was told that my image is faulty, and yet, somehow it's still installed on the device/working fine. [Was suggested to re-download the CW MOD image, and re-install] And it just goes on and on... then silence from the community.
So, to boil it down to the nitty-gritty, the only thing I am getting is, while I -attempt- to install SuperUser via CW, I get this:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed!
So, please, someone, assist me in getting my phone rooted!

try installing superSU...
Now, super one click ... don't use it, it isn't for our roms.
you should be using Odin to flash CW, and then downloading roms and flashing with CW
If you want support from the community, why not offer more information...
What are you running now ? UCLH ? UCLJ ? Jellybean, Gingerbread, ICS ? How did you obtain the version that is running on your phone now ?
i've discovered the only way to root Gingerbread is to download a pre-rooted rom.
ICS, install CW w/ Odin and then flash supersu or superuser .... There was, at a time, I couldn't get ICS to root and had to download a specific SU or SuperSU not on google store that I found by searching the forums ....
Give us more info, as much and as detailed as possible and we can help you further.

I used the official update from Samsung when it was fully released... finally. So, running 4.0.4.
What's SuperSU? Is that different?
For more details, I posted already to the fourms here before they went silent:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35750419 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35811065
As you can see, I tried everything, it's like my phone's being annoying... is it do-able to just re-set the phone to stock Gingerbread, and then just update using another ROM? And, if so, what one do I use? I just want a stable experience. Like, with the leak that came out not too long before the official, there was the keyboard error, and I even had issues with placing and receiving calls...
At this point, it's getting to the point where I am willing to basicly go back to out-of-the-box, then root the sucker, if I can do that. Seems perhaps a clean slate is in order, anywho.
Thanks for the quick reply, though.

#2 What version of CWM are you using? Where did you download it from ? (Here I hope : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007198 )
#3 Where did you get SuperSU from?
#4 Are you downloading it with your phone's browser, or are you downloading it to a computer and transferring via USB ? (It's possible you have a bad flash card/RAM in the computer/physical hard drive in computer).
Do NOT use Superoneclick, there is no SOC that will work for our phone.
It has been some time since I have used ICS. I had completed the stock download from samfirmware.com, installed CWM 6 with Odin 1.85 and (taadaa) attached to this thread the same version of Superuser I used to install via CWM.

From my computer, via USB, and not likely at all. Every component is new, and to make it more amusing, I did all this in the past with the leaked ROM before I got this new system on my last compy, so, yeah... if -both- computers does the -exact- same thing... prolly time to format the phone, and try again, somehow?

..okes.. I feel like somewhat of an idiot. I decided to just try one last time to get the recovery mod in there again, and, for whatever stupid reason, instead of seeing a blank background with the Android, I saw the CW icon, and a silver icon... I told it to apply SuperUser as I have tried so many other times, and it just... worked.
The closest thing I can figure is that my browser, and my eyes told me that I had multiple copies of the current CW Mod, but, in my working directory, I unzipped the -old- version.
To make it simple; I -now- have root on my Glide, woot!

We are not specific and are not spoon feeding you because this not done that way. You HAVE to spend time and learn what is what. The answers you need and the help you need are already here. If you're expecting download links and screenshots you shouldn't be modifying your phone. The whole point of this community is to learn and share the knowledge - not spoon feed.
Go to the TWRP thread, read up and download the tar that you need to flash through odin. Look for the MJ5 bootloader (hint: look up Wanam's ROM thread, that's one of the many places). After you got these two, boot to TWRP and flash the ROM.
Finally, as long as your phone gets into download mode, it's not bricked. And you got to do something incredibly foolish to make it not boot into bootloader. That said, it would be prudent to learn and act rather than blindly execute what you read - I said the same thing in not so many words in my reply to you in the DN3 ROM thread.

So you successfully flashed the recovery via odin but you are not able to boot into it?
When u are in samsung note 2 boot screen keep pressed volume up, home and power buttons. When phone reboots and shows u samsung note 2 bootscreen then release the power button but keep pressed the others two until the phone boot in recovery. Try this and tell me what happen.

And now when i try to turn it on, there are lines on the screen all the time and I can also here it turning on (Samsung sound).
I am able to get it into downloading mode by my instincts and it shows added on Odin3 v3.04.
Can any1 help plzz?
If Odin has shown pass..don't worry..just go in recovery..wipe cache..and data reset. Both..and reboot...it happens sometimes to me too..this would fix the problem..hope i helped.

I have downloaded a stock Rom from the net
I dint understand how to install stock rom via odin
I selected the rom I downloaded on the "PDA" in Odin3 and click on Start.
After it said "pass" the phone has been in this state
i can only bring it to downloading mode and cannot go into recovery mode as the screen is black with lines
you should try reflashing whole rom....and then try again mahn :|..or if still recovery doesn't come then something is wrong in ur 4.2.2 file....as u can see while odin works that it flashes recovery too..try again..or else still if problem persists...then try anothr flash to flash.....try normal odin install....and after that it will boot in rom..if not..then remove battery and reinsert and then try normal recovery..if it opens stock recovery thrn lemme know..i ll tell u nxt step

Try downloading stock rom from www.sammobile.com ( you have to register in it , but its okay )
All official Samsung phone firmwares are available in it.
Select firmware tab and choose the firmware for your country...
Hope it helps...

Here are some other things to try:
If you have kies, delete it
Remove the Samsung usb drivers, re-boot your PC and then reinstall them
If that fails then try a different PC. I have one were Odin will not work not matter what I do and another where it works perfect everytime.
