Just received my midnight 7a. Fortunately all is good, but today my email stopped syncing half way thru the day. any ideas? deleted Juice defender just in case. Running os 2.0 btw on US version.
Are you running the built in Email app or a third-party one? Have you checked all the sync settings, and have you checked the individual settings in the app itself?

I am running the stock email client. Was working fine and then stopped. Have it set on push, sync all. should add that it is the exchange account not working.
downloaded Nine and no problems. my stock exchange just won't work. Nine seems pretty sweet anyway, so happy with the fix.
My problem is the Screenlock only uses 4 digit .If using the native mail to get Exchange mail, the device administrator requires more than 4 digits. I am not not able to do Exchange sync because of this.Anyone has a solution to solve the 4 digit screen unlock ?

I had absolutely the same issue just after an official Twitter client was installed in my Desire. Its deinstallation was a good solution

Hi,
I'm planning on buying Galaxy Nexus but since I've never had pure Google phone I don't know does it have a separate email app (except Gmail) with Exchange support. Anyone care to enlighten me?
Thanks

The email app supports Exchange ActiveSync. Exchange administrators can also do things like remote wipe of android phones.

Most versions of android don't support HTML email on exchange 2003. Touchdown and iOS do so it is possible. Lets hope ICS supports HTML exchange email on that server.
I use Enhanced Email. It lets me bypass my works security requirements. No PIN and no remote wipe.

That's awesome!
Does it also sync calendar as well?

Does this definitely work on Glaxy Nexus? I thought it was built for older Android versions?
It doesn't work yet on ICS, but the developer has it working already, he just hasn't released the update yet. I downloaded the trial version, but it force closes.
I found the link for the trial and the change login his support forum (link below)

Calendar does sync in tablet fwiw
The standard email client on the Galaxy Nexus works just fine with exchange, including calendar sync and html mail.

Clarification: Enhanced Email does not bypass all security, just the pin lock requirement.
My corporate IT is not granted Admin Remote Wipe and other lock and restrictions overrides when using EE
Am I just not seeing it? Can you extend the time before your screen locks? Not the display timeout. I have to input my pin every single time I unlock my phone.

ICS is the first version of Android to be fully Exchange ActiveSync compliant. All this means it is supports every security and remote management features of Exchange 2010. (EAS 14.1)
Does anyone get notification for native exchange email on ICS?
I've setup folders under my Inbox, and I don't get any notification when email arrives. I've setup individual sync option on multiple folders.
This was working fine on My N1 running CM7 which is Gingerbread
The stock email app works fine with exchange for me
Camera disabled? False policy info?
Our Exchange Admin can't figure this one out.. He does NOT have any policy to disable camera's yet at initial account creation to our ActiveSync server it tries to push a security profile to turn off camera's and set a bunch of other stuff that our Admin swears is not being set. He even gave me remote control of our Exchange server to verify I was on a default policy and the default policy had none of these restrictions.
REALLY odd - as Touchdown is just seeing the policy he has set and not trying to set other items. Having to use Touchdown now - though now the Touchdown HD beta supports ICS now. Finding their push to be less battery intensive than the built in app when I used it for 2 days (with my camera disabled to actually get to test it)

Go to settings security, automatically lock and change to whatever max is allowed by the exchange security settings...
Sorry for a stupid question.
Is it possible to install active sync on my work notebook (WinXP) and sync it with my GNex via cable? Similar to what I was used with my Window phone 2 years ago.
I've been using touchdown for some while and it synced via our outlook web access, which has been disabled now. So I am trying to figure out a way to sync calender and tasks again. I don't care about Emails.
we are not allowed to install google sync (or w/e it is called). they even took our admin rights on our working notebooks. MS Active Sync, however, is a approved software which could be installed by our IT.
Any ideas/thoughts? thx
Stock mail.app does not support "search" option for exchange mails...
About a month to a month and a half ago, I developed this problem on my Email(not Gmail) app set up for my Exchange account: mail would occasionally not be pushed automatically and I would have to open the email app to fetch all the emails. There is no pattern that I am able to figure out when this automatic push does not work. Sometimes mail gets pushed and everything works great but at other times i would have gotten 6-7 emails and none would have gotten pushed. Rebooting the phone temporarily fixes this. First I thought this was a server side problem so I downloaded Touchdown(trial version) and had it run on the same account alongside. Touchdown is able to show all emails as they are pushed whereas sometimes the native email app fails to do so. Gmail is also able to push emails to my Gmail app at all times without any problems. Touchdown interface is ok but I actually like the stock email interface a whole lot better. Anything I can do to fix this?
Currently running android 4.2.

This behaviour is new for JB. The stock email app requires sync to be on to actually poll, or even push like it should. Having never been a "syncer", I was fearful of awful battery at first, but this isn't the case. With two email accts on push, and the Gmail app syncing, it doesn't drain battery like you'd think. Just uncheck the elements for each account that you don't want synced.
There are quite a few reports of this on Google Code; the recommendation is to enable sync 9 times out of 10, assuming all the server settings are correct, etc... I turn off sync from 22:00 to 06:00, but other than that, it's on.

Thanks but battery life has been surprisingly very good on my GNexus and all accounts are set to push at all times. How do I enable sync just 9 out of 10 times. Can you give me a link to this on Google code? Thanks again!

I was saying that the answer 9/10 times is enabling sync.
Settings > Data Usage > menu button > Auto-sync data.
Don't have the links handy any longer.

Thanks. I checked and it looks like autosync has been enabled on my phone. Hoping there is something else I can do to have my exchange emails pushed.... Wonder what they changed in JB that did this. Is there a way to delete the email.apk for JB and install the email.apk from ICS?
anyone else?
Is this possible? got an issue with the default built in app and syncing with an exchange account. all set up and working fine, but the sync options seem to be missing the option of when to sync, got it set to push, but no option for peak times and quiet times/off peak (ie night, weekend) where it will be manual sync. It's just set to push all the time.
My old HTC Desire had this function years back, as did my S2 etc.
Tried a few free alternatives from the play store but they use quite a lot of battery.
Would quite happily just install the stock android app you get on the nexus, but not sure that's possible without rooting?

I don't use gmail, it's a corporate/work exchange account.
I use hotmail app for my hotmail and that works fine, but the built in sync for exchange doesn't do the above.
I'm hoping this is possible.
So on my personal phone I always use the gmail App for my accounts.
I just recently started working for a company that doesn't issue cell phones, but will set up your exchange account on your personal phone, so i've gone and done that.
Everything works fine, accept the Exchange account is accessed through the Stock Email app, and it is also synching my 2 gmail accounts. Is it possible to remove the gmail accounts from the Stock email app? I've gone into the app's settings and I can't see anything to remove them. I can see the option to stop the sync, but that does me no good for whats already been synced.
Any tips?
