MTP Driver Issue ?

Since upgrading to 4.0.4 the only way for my computer to see my device is to reset it while the usb cable being plugged in and please note its the cable that came with my phone.
It was just fine when we had 4.0.3 version.

[Q] No data transfer through charging cable.

This occurred after I rooted and installed MIUI V4. I want to say that I was able to successfully connect to a computer at least once or twice while on MIUI before this problem started happening. The phone is still able to be charged while hooked up to a computer. I've since flashed over to CM9 and the problem persists. I've tried booting into recovery and mounting usb storage that way. I've also tried to enter download mode and odin was unable to connect. The device hasn't experienced any trauma that I am aware of either, the port looks fine/etc. I guess what I really want to know is: Is this some sort of kernel issue or bootloader type thing that can be repaired by going back to stock; or is it purely a hardware issue?

You might try using a different usb port or try another usb cable. Also try to reinstall the samsung drivers to your computer. Hopes this helps.

Thanks, I've tried all of the obvious things. That's why I'm wondering if it could be a corrupt kernel or something like that.

[Q] Help, can not connect semi-bricked phone to computer

I have a rooted epic running the latest Clean GB
The other night the phone went crazy, it would reboot over and over and the screen would lock out. I went into CWM and restored it back to when I first installed Clean GB about 2 months ago. It had an error the first two times then it went on the third time. Then the phone crashed while rebooting and now will only go to the Samsung black screen. I cannot boot to cwm only to the Download screen (#1 and power). I tried connecting it to my computer to try and odin it back and I can not get it to connect. After reading the forms I re-installed the drivers uninstalled rebooted installed over and over. about 10 times. I found on the forums that the stock cable could be bad so found 3 other cables at home and tried them, still nothing then went to radio shack and bought the 22$ cable and still nothing. I have tried 3 different computers (2 windows 7 and 1 windows xp) every usb port on all the computers it says the device has malfunctioned. Odin does not recognize the device either does Heimdall. I am lost can you guys help me out? or do I need to see if sprint can fix it or use it for target practice? Thanks for your help

It may be a bad motherboard.

What kind of usb cables? just because it was $22 doesn't means its a good data cable. I find thick blackberry cables are the best, i leave one plugged into my pc.

Also make sure your micro usb port on the phone isn't dirty. I find a can of air duster works well.
Are you downloading the correct drivers straight from samsungs website?
If you can get into download mode its either usb port is bad, cable is bad, or computer doesn't play well with your phone.

Thanks for the ideas, I just cleaned my usb ports on my computer and on the phone and nothing. The cable is the thickest one I can find. I have read on other forums that they have had great success with that cable. Who knows, I may try and find black berry cable or take it to someone that knows more than I do. If anyone has any other ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention that yes I downloaded them from Samsung and also from a thread on xda.

[Q] USB debugging suddenly stopped working, cant fix it.

I've never had an issue with it before, but sometime in the last week or so, my USB debugging broke. Tried disabling it and reenabling, tried 3 different USB cables, tried reinstalling my ROM doing a clean flash, etc. Nothing works. The phone charges when it's plugged in, but my computer just doesn't recognize it. I have a MacBook Air with Mountain Lion. As I said, this was never an issue before. Any ideas what it could be or how I could fix it? My phone is currently running the latest LiquidSmooth, but I was on task's AOKP before.

Please help. Phone wont connect to Computer. Ive tried everything

I hope someone can help me I have a very strange problem. My galaxy note 2 is not detected by my computer at all (Not a driver issue, not seen at all) It charges fine.
Things I've tried so far are 3 different cables,
Two different Computers,
Reset phone to stock out of box state.
And the one that gets me the most is I even changed the whole USB board assembly. (I was sure it had to be a broken USB port
Still no joy.
The problem now is if I can't connect it to my computer I can't reroot through Odin.
Any Ideas?
Also is it possible to root phone again from stock without connecting USB to PC.

USB port not conecting to pc SPH L900 note 2
I am in the same boat , I have purchased a new usb port, changed it and nothing, I have tried 3 differnt cables , nothing, I have restore the phone and wipe out cache and still nothing.
if you hapen to find a solution plese let me know, and if I find it first I will posted here.
