[CWM][LSJ] JB 4.2 Camera/Gallery

Hi guys. I'm sharing you Android 4.2 Camera app with the Gallery app. Sphere function works. Only that did not work is video recording. I don't know why,but i leave it to the Expert, Dev that have interest can moded this apps to make the video recording work.
FLASHING THIS WILL NOT REPLACE YOUR CAMERA AND GALLERY. YOU WILL HAVE 2 CAMERA APP AND 2 GALERRY.
Only tested on 4.1.2 Wanam

Tested it, it takes photos, records etc, until i try stop recordning on 720HD video, it hangs up and wont go back to cameramode, have to close it with taskmanager and restart again
on 4.1.2 LSJ simplistic ROM.

I have the 4.1.2 leak rom and gets caught me when I want to use the photo sherpe ... could you give me some solution? Thank you!

Try to reflash because i can use sphere func without any prob.

Will it work on AOKP roms like RR 3.1.2 ?

Works on 4.0.3 Foxhound Revolver Ocelot ROM.
(Of course, no movie recording)

4.0.4 - doesn't work. Gallery freezes, PhotoSphere also.

Works on wanamlite 4.1.2 almost perfectly! All works but it crashes sometimes, not bad at all! Sphere is like a dream!

I think it only work on jb base.i not dev.sorry

But I installed newest JB (NeatROM) and it worked.... for a while. Today it doesn't work without reason....

can anyone please help me completely remove this form my device, its causing issues with my kernel breaking my front camera.

Photosphere doesn't work

Hi all,
when I try to take a photosphere the 3D background freezes in vertical and I can't take pictures (I've attached a screenshot).
It has never worked, now I tried to flash android 4.2.1 stock rom, but it still freezed.
I thought the problem could be the accelerometer but I checked it with another app and works properly..
What can be the problem?

Photosphere gallery on 4.2.1
Hallo everybody,
I have a similar problem with my gnex. The camera und rendering function works great.
But I can't start the photosphere modus in the gallery.
I flashed Xylon 0081 rom with fullwipe.Everything works wonderfull, except this gallery .
So I installed elixir to test all my sensores, but everything works stable.
Has anyone the same problem ?

Newer N4 camera app

I've built a zip of what I think is a newer N4 camera. I got the camera apk and it's associated lib files by downloading and deodexing the N4 factory image. I got the GMScore.apk from a the 4.1.2 MC3 firmware. The zip is zipaligned and signed.
I renamed the N4 camera to Gallery2 instead of GalleryGoogle. I've tested it (running MC3) and it works. It should replace the stock camera in aosp ROMs.

@Theshawty Works on cm10.1 roms and fixes the front camera too. The front camera no longer gets stuck when taking a pic and works normally

Supposedly, yes. It does not have the option to choose storage, though.

I downloaded and i tried it. Sorry to say, Touch to Focus with flashlight problem still exists. Front camera is working absolutely fine as some user mentioned above. Just now, i got a message saying "Can not connect to the camera."

Yep, crash TTFWF still there...

Same here... Tried on stock 4.1.2 rom and cm10.1.seems like Non touch/focus fix yet

I'm still facing the flash problem but I can open the camera after it happened immediately to take another picture which wasn't possible before. The freeze of front camera is gone :good:

Does it have sphere function? Does it replace the CM10.1 cam. CM cam has now got fixed Touch2Focus.

Yes it has photopshere and yes it replaces the CM10.1 cam. Touch2focus should work as those as hal fixes I believe.

It works for me. I think the picture quality of this is better than CM cam (comparable to SS stock and Huawei cameras). But this Cam lacks several new features recently added to CM (except for sphere). Camcoding HD suffers from the same "distorted preview" as in CM cam.

CM has been updated to fix that distorted preview.

I have just had a clean installation of the latest CM nightly, and CM cam has no distorted preview. But when I flash N4_cam, it still shows distorted preview in HD (720 and 1080) mode.
If you have no such issue, pls share the latest N4_cam flashable zip.

I'm no longer on the S3 so this is discontinued.

Cm10.1 camera issue

The first day a bought the note 2 i rooted it and installed several ROMs but i have the same issue the camera keep sending me this error ( unfortunately, gallery has stopped ) only when i focused on some object while there is low light and i need to use the flash but on the day light its working fine ... any one can help .. i did every thing flashed several ROMs - gapps wiped the device but no use .. help please

it's known bug of CM 10.1

It is a known bug, but there are some camera apps which work without issues. There is a port of the stock huawei camera on xda if you search which works fine (some FC from time to time) or, if you're willing to spend a little, camera JB+ and (my personal favourite) snap camera HDR from the market work wonderfully. The last two have also the advantages of bundling the gallery app too, so you can completely disable the non-working stock camera and forget about it. They'll replace it in the lockscreen and in every other situation.

Cheers for the info. The main reason I haven't bothered with CyanogenMod for more than a few hours is that I use the camera quite a bit.

You're welcome.
I highly recommend Snap camera HDR, it has a stock-like interface but it implements a lot of features found in the samsung camera (mainly burst shot, shot timer, snapshot during video capture). You can try the demo version from the play store before buying it.

I'm sure u know batter then me but when i had the i9100g it was working fine same as the i9100, gsm nexus, note 1 ... all was working fine

Yes it's a device specific bug: galaxy s3 and note2 have this issue, cm camera is fine with other devices (my nexus s doesn't have any problem with it).

I flashed Hyperdroid AOXP _rev 1.10 (22.04.13 build) and now 4.2.2 camera works great!
i have flashed PAC maybe 10 times, and the 4.2.2 camera gave me a FC from time to time....

What's your battery like on CM 10.1 mate? Just using nightlies or a particular stable release? Do you update with newer nightlies very often?

The battery is amazing you can go easily to 5 hours screen on time with 3d playing
Its nightly no stable release for 10.1 ... ya some times i update it daily some times once in a week

i have tested this snap camera on cm10.1, and i must say that video quality sucks( low fps). the original 4.2 camera records much smoother when it works. autofoucs is faster on orginal 4.2 camera too. i hope someone figure out this FC issue soon....

Hi guys,
I really want Cyanogen on my Note II but every time I've put it on, the camera still doesn't work properly.
I'm someone who, if something isn't working, cannot use it at all!
So I've been stock for a couple of months now.
Can anybody confirm if this issue is still ongoing?
Or is it now fixed?
I do keep an eye on changelogs but haven't yet noticed anything camera-specific.:good:

CM11s Camera app

Hi guys... i just found the CM11s camera app in the nexus 5 forum:

i tested it on my galaxy s i9000 with cyanogenmod 11 and works PERFECTLY.
The features are enbled according to the phone.
I do not take credit for this just install it as a normal apk... Enjoy..!
