Hi !
Well, actually everyone here knows how to go to recovery without using a pc. That is what the first comment is referring "LOL".

OP, I understand you're trying to be helpful but I think everyone knows at this point you usually boot into TWRP without a PC. Also, the method to getting into recovery using the method you described is all over this site and the internet.
Because of these reasons, I'm going to have to close this thread.

But how can you boot into fastboot with the volume keys broken?
By pressing and holding back and then power button.
SwiftKeyed from CM7 using Transparent XDA App
You can boot into fastboot by long-pressing the power button and then clicking on reboot and then "Bootloader"

To boot into fastboot you have to press back and power button. And to navigate there you have to use volume buttons (which does not work here), except you connect your phone to usb and use fastboot commands to reboot etc.
or you could use an app called quick boot to get to recovery.
Rather than trying to get into recovery, consider getting the phone fixed. You can do things in recovery that could leave you with no option than to use volume buttons and then you're stuck. My advice, leave recovery alone

[Q] Hard Bricked One XT with broken HBOOT

Hello,
I have a One XT (s720t), the China Mobile carrier version of One X. After I installed CWM Recovery 6.0.1.5 and do a nandroid backup of the official rom, I flashed a custom rom. Everything went fine, the new rom worked properly except the mobile network(CMCC use it's own TDSCDMA network). So I tried to restore the original rom with CWM. Guess what? The game is up, rebooted and stuck at splash. It could not jump out of bootloop, power + volume down button did not bring me to HBOOT but reboot again which means I could not use fastboot to recover it!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone knows what's the problem? Thanks for any suggestion.:crying::crying::crying:
wrong forum ?
and the problem is that you didn't HOLD the power button and volume down properly
Hi Vcek, thanks for your reply. But I'm not a newbie for rooting devices and flashing rom. I do hold the power and vol down button properly just as I root it and use CWM to backup original rom before.

Problems with CyanogenMod 11 - Unofficial

Hi everybody,
I have a BIG problem, with CyanogenMod 11 - Unofficial. I installed the 05/13 update and at the beginning I only had problems with the volume bar and the reboot panel: it shows kinda grayish overlay and the only way to make it disappear was to press the backward button. So, I tried to flash back the Stock Rom, but something has gone wrong... I still have CyanogenMod 11 - Unofficial, and the gray overlay is everywhere, anytime (I managed a way but limits phone usability). Moreover, key combinations involving the power button do not work, and I'm not able to do anything like Recovery boot or Deep Reset...
I need your help!
Thanks in advance

First hold both volume down buttons and connect your phone to PC with cable while holding both volume buttons. Does download mode appear? If it does then flashing stock kdz will get your phone back!

I already tried flashing with kdz, but I can not boot the phone in any mode but bootloop CM lollipop logo. Also I can not install MTP on PC as it seems to be the problem when I tried with adb command prompt.
So, is there any other way except repair service for the volume buttons?

Aah I got your problem. You have bootloader unlocked? To flash kdz you need a locked bootloader. Try locking it somehow (kinda impossible if you can't boot :/ ). Once you flash stock recovery and lock bootloader then you'll be able to flash kdz! I think you need to go to repair shop to fix buttons
