i notice recently that my phone battery is draining really quick,
even when i dont use it at all,
i've been studying this morning and havent needed to use the phone at all
but during my lunch break i went into the play store through my pc and installed a game, i turned the screen on and off(literately on and off) and went off to have lunch,
i looked at my phone after lunch to have the battery drained by 15%
i can also feel its warm
so i turned on tergastats to show that all my cpus are active with clock freq of 1.2Mhz
is there a way i can find which app is draining the life out of my battery??
a restart fixed the problem... but only because I caught it

BetterBatteryStats.
It's a paid app but well-deserved. Look here for more comments.
Ironically, this is the third time today I mentioned this app's name. Maybe I am already a winner of some prize, who knows
I might just get that,

use corecontrol of meltus if you do not want all cores active. there is a bug if you reboot it will revert back to having all four cores active but if you just change it without rebooting it should work fine. using it now on my phone and no problems at all..hope that helps

I think you have a minor typo in OP 'turn off CPU 2' should be 'turn off CPU 1' as cores are CPU 0, CPU 1 (duel core) then CPU 2 and CPU 3 (for quad core device)

Yes I know that, but for not developers people seeing a number 1 is like the first CPU will be off. Since you normally start counting with the number 1. I did name it number 1 in one of the tests and I received a lot of e-mails asking me if its safe to turn off the first CPU and why I'm not doing it with the second CPU. So I decided to change the number so that way people wont get confused.
So basically you are right, but I did it on purpose.

Ok straight foward. U hav very bad phone battery drain? Over the night u hav a bad battery drain on ur S2? Android OS drain? In betterbatterystats its showing awake>Screen ON?
Now forget them all. The one stop solution is One Power guard.. Caution: U must be rooted to use this app!! Thanks to onexuan for his miracle app which stops the battery drain by stopping the apps while phone is in deep sleep mode. I personally tried this on S2 with ROOTBOX JB ROM.. Got more than 3hrs On screen time with 2G ON(will attach screenshot later)...
Features:
1. Extends stand-by time and battery life; optimizes charging parameters
2. Optimizes system kernel and CPU usage to improve device performance
3. Six (6) customized power-saving modes to suit different scenarios
4. Proactively guards from power-killer apps and safely shuts down useless power-consuming programs
5. Fast ON/OFF settings for 100% system customization
6. Intelligently switches to/from WiFi/Cell data to preserve battery life
7. Professional Tips on power optimization
Why do you need One Power Guard? and Test One Power Guard for yourself.
1. Fully charge your battery before you go to bed. In the morning, check your battery status and note how much is remaining.
2. After installing One Power Guard, fully charge the battery before you go to bed. In the morning, check your battery status, you will be impressed by the power savings!
3. To compare the optimization results, you need to restart the phone so that you have a clean environment.

I have some problems.
1. I am on stock ROM and Kernel..
In all mode, can not set CPU frequency more then 1.2GHz and less then 200MHz. Is this due to my phone kernel limitation?
2. I have also installed some power saving apps like Lux brightness, Greenify....
Is this app will kill all these app?

Ya change to ICS OC kernel ur stock kernel doesnt support OC.... Try Dorimanx kernel its OCd upto 1600 Mhz.. If u more concerned abt battery dont OC... Thx to the app i m getting 4+ hrs of screen on time...
Downloaded this for my nexus 4 and the idea of this app is pretty cool just open app and tap on 1 of the battery or power modes BUT i have a problem with this app which im not sure is normal or can be fixed, when i choose 1 of the power options e.g performance and i then want to switch to powersave or standby it does not change, i can tap on it and it will say powersave on but u can see on cpu its still on performance so basically have to reboot everytime i want to switch which obvioisly is very annoying
Question regarding Defence Feature
I am new to this app but eager to learn more about it and to increase it's effectiveness..
I am puzzled a bit about the Defence feature...
Does this feature identify apps that are using excess power so that one can disable them?
Any other uses for this feature?
thanks
Trickster MOD app is a tweaking tool to change various settings included in your kernel and other tweaks to your phone. It was made by me and my friend.

By the way, the screen calibration settings only apply to perseus kernel or are there any other kernels that allows this feature to be adjusted via your app?

Hi. May I ask something? How do the values get aplied ? Does the app write a script to init.d or does they get aplied at startup though the app ?
I ask because I use STweaks for most of the settings and only change governor settings with this app because STweak don't give me full controll and now I ask myselfe if they interfere somehow ?
Thank you!

It's applied through the app at startup. So it will get conflicted with STweak or other apps. I will update the app for GS3 but that is until I can find time and manage to borrow a GS3 so I don't know when.

But isn't STweaks get applied earlier that Trickster MOD?
Trickster seems to have a problem when applying settings regarding master sequence and other screen calibration settings.
+1 chroma setting turns off by itself
We can only fix stuffs if we have a GS3 and unfortunately we can only borrow one again sometimes in September, so things will have to wait. Sorry.
Settings apply on every reboot?

Hey friends
i have seen that everyone is complaining that their Redmi 1S starts lagging and performance is worse after updating to v45.
so today i am here with very simple fix for this problem
NOTE : Rooted Redmi 1S is required
Now after rooting Redmi 1s
After rooting download and install root explorer on your redmi 1s
now go to /etc/thermal-engine-8226.conf and delete the lines marked with red.

apply this fix and your lagging problem will be fully solved and your performance will also come back as before
NOTE: this will only solve lagging problem after v45 upddate but it will not solve heating problem.
To solve heating problem you should download NO FRILLS CPU app and use it to downclock you cpu to 1.3 Ghz . It will reduce heating problem.
still love my rom 43 global with tweaks
[Q]
What this fix actually does?I can tell when my redmi 1s gets hotter the phone underclock itself to a max frequecy of 998400 mHz and starts lagging.I'm affraid that if this removes this cpu control when it gets too hot,the cpu will broke in time.More details?

Why are u using these instructions follow the link mentioned above in the reply by @Manjal
BTW deleting the thermal file is the best solution, I have found because it doesn't interfere with my clock values irrespective of the temperature.
V47 is also available now. . does it lags too?
