Odd phenomenon when charging. - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm procrastinating at work, noticed something weird.
When the phone is charging, I glide my fingers across the back, and feel a faint charge, kind of like the phone is vibrating. Maybe my fingers are super sensitive to the grooves in the finish? I don't know.
As an engineer, let's go about this scientifically.
Control:
Naked HTC One M8 (Gunmetal) with Spigen Tempered Glass Protector
OEM HTC Charger that came with the phone
Plugged in to a surge protector. The only other thing plugged in is the AC Charger for my HP Elitebook
Phone is face down while plugged in on wooden desk
Test:
Gently glide finger across the back of the phone.
Anyone else feel this? Or am I going crazy at my government job?

Just tried it and felt it too!

Next step is voltmeter and phone case vs ground. It's possible that the charger isn't properly grounded, so although it only delivers a potential of 5V, those 5V are sitting on a 50Hz sine wave of, maybe 30-50V (thats a guess based on my experience of electrical shocks).

Just tried it and felt it too! Amazing)) Maybe my M7 became a mobile cat? ?

I have felt it forever but my baby just felt like that because he was sitting on the charging phone. Suddenly it is more disturbing than neat.

I felt it for a long time. I use it as a indicator of charger quality. My HTC one m8 charger that came with the box charged it without any problem at all for the first few days. Then suddenly this vibration arised from nowhere. I tried another m8 charger it didn't cause the vibration. Then i tried some aftermarket nonbrand cheap chargers, all of them caused the same vibration. Then i tried a two samsung charger that came with my two other phone, they didn't give any vibration at all. Then I tried a Xiaomi charger that came with Redmi4prime, it was also perfect. BTW all of the chargers I used are two pin, no ground whatsoever.

[Q] Charging problem

Hi,
My Lumia 900 only charges if I plug in the cable with force and I keep pushing it. I tried other cable and mobile charger, but no luck. Anyone experience this before? Any suggestions?
Thanks
If you have tried multiple cables, it sounds, unfortunately, that it might be the Lumia 900's connector.
If you can shine a bright light into the connector (my eyesight would require me to use a magnifying glass now) just to check that there are no foreign objects like pocket lint; that might find something. While I had not had this happen to my Lumia 900, it had happened several years ago with my iPhone.
Otherwise, the connector might be loose from the main board, especially if the phone had ever taken a tumble while it was plugged in. Hopefully, it would be the former and not the latter.

I disassembled my Lumia 900 today. The port connection to the board seemed okay, but the body of the port which is made of plastics was cracked. It's all make sense why the phone charges only if I forcefully push the cable into the port.
So... I glued the cracked area of the port super glue then pressed it using a small clamp. After several minutes, the glue hardened. Done. I reassembled my phone and tested it. It worked.
I know this is not permanent solution and I don't know how long it will last. But, this is a workaround for user who doesn't have good technical skills of soldering like me.
Pictures:
I didn't take any pictures when I disassemble my phone. I got these pictures through Googling.

Coocher 5 Port Desktop Wall Charger (great for travel!)

You can grab one here
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TDHEFNY?utm_source=amazon&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=charger
I am reviewing the following device in return for the usage and review of the said item here in XDA. I am not employed or affiliated with them, they were kind enough to seek my opinion on this product.
While not an accessory specific to Nexus 6, I figured I'd add this here because the N6 does have Quick Charging and wanted to let people know my experience with the item.
And honestly, I was looking for one of these desktop chargers for home. I previously bought one when I go on trips to power my various devices, but was looking to upgrade due to me and my wife's phone now equipped with Quick Charge 2.0.
Upon receiving it, The packaging was really nice. Minimal and not too much. Just enough to protect the contents and not hard to unpack at all. Inside housed the desktop charger, the plug, instructions, and other literature as seen in the pics.
The look is a nice textured matte finish and you can grip it pretty well. It has a good weight to it so it won't fly off your desk if you push papers towards it. You can orient it any way you would like to use it, but my preference for this charger is flat with the print facing up. I found that this way, it won't flop over, even though it has some heft to it, you can accidentally knock it over.
There is a power LED when you plug it into the wall. Not bright, just a nice dim blue led to let you know it's on. IMO a nice touch. Next I plugged in both mine and my wife's phone. (Nexus 6 and HTC M8 respectively). And both charged up pretty quickly! I then tested out the remaining three ports (the non-quick charge ones) and all worked as it should. Also I have to note that all the USB ports were easy to plug in and remove with different usb cords.
So is there really any negatives here? Not that I can see. This is a great product for the price listed on Amazon (17 USD prior to shipping if not a prime member).
Maybe offer different colors? With different color LEDs? Just throwing some quick things off the top of my head. But otherwise it's a great product to use.
Would I recommend this? Yes! Because multiple devices that have Quick Charge, we needed this for the times we need to quickly charge up before heading out to of the house and not really worry about carrying external batteries.
Any questions feel free to ask! Pics below

Review: LDesigns Wireless Charger

This is a review of a wireless charger from LDesign - http://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Wireless-Charger-Charging-Motorola/dp/B015S8TXJC/
So I've personally never bothered to use QI wireless chargers for my phone, and the only device I own that support QI is my smartwatch. After the charger for my smartwatch, Motorola Moto 360, did throw in the towel I was on the lookout for a decent one to replace it. I came across many different ones, but one that really caught my eye was the one from LDesign.
The charger itself came in a pretty ordinary packaging that felt a little bit thin, and on the actual box there were a few specifications as well as information about the product. Inside the box is the charger, as well as a plain micro USB and a manual.
So when it comes to the actual charger, it looks pretty nice and feels solid compared to some other alternatives I’ve seen. The charger itself is partially made out of transparent plastic, which does glow up with a blue light when putting an QI capable device on it - this is great as the blue light makes it easier to see if the charger is actually charging the phone. There’s some rubber as well, so you don’t have to worry about your phone or device slipping off the charger when charging.
The charging performance is about as good as the original Moto 360 charger, but I was unable to measure the exact output of the charger. The charger doesn’t get hot while charging, and I’ve had no issues with its range either – for some reason I can even charge my Moto 360 with the strap in-between the device and charger. The only negative aspect is that the entire charger isn’t capable of charging, and just the square in the middle can be used for charging.
Pros:
Good design and it looks great on my desk.
Decent charging performance paired with my Moto 360
Rubber around the charging area so that the device doesn’t slip off.
Cons:
Not the entire charger can be used for charging
Note that the product was sent to me in exchange of this review, based entirely on my own opinion and experience with the product.

QI Charger stand. Difference?

Hello there fellers...
Is there any difference between last gen. wireless charging stand and the new one released together for S8?
Does the new one have faster charging speed?
If you mean this one,

I got one and did not like it. Unlike the Samsung Qi charger I had purchased for my car, this one seems to cycle constantly. So it goes on battery, and the phone discharges for a while, then it starts charging, then you get a full charge and it turns off and the cycle starts over. I found it too annoying to use.
Thanks. The new convertible stand looks great but is a bit expensive for now.
Edit: I read on a review for this model that "the correct power supply must be used for it to function properly."

If you mean that it should use the cables/wall plug that it came with, yes, that's true. I have two of them and without a quickcharging cable/cable, it doesn't charge/work as a quick charger.
Sindroid,
Here is the one I have been using
https://www.amazon.ca/Wireless-Char...24826&sr=8-1&keywords=spigen+wireless+charger
Works very well, not high speed but 3.5 hours for full charge and very sturdy. Also has the rubberized grip so very sturdy for the phone to sit on as well. Highly recommend it.

This looks very cool. Does it come with cables and a wall plug? I see "a" cable, but not sure if comes with all the necessary cables. I found it on the US site for $25 (guessing that's what it is at the exchange for CAD).
I'm using the new convertible charger. So far so good.

BESTEK LED desk lamp with 2.4Amp charging port

After doing some travelling I noticed some hotels have lamps on the night stands that also had USB ports in them. I thought this was a pretty cool idea so went on a search for something for my night stand. I found one available for as low as $31 on ebay or only $24 for the white version on Amazon.
I have a Nexus 6P so was interested in something that could also provide fast charging. The USB C and Nexus 6P is capable of 3 Amp charging and was at a loss to find one that could go that high but these lamps provide a full 2.4 Amp USB port that does allow the 6P to rapid charge. If you are like me you have chargers sticking out everywhere and limited outlets available. This convenient hotel quality lamp solves that bed side for you! The lamp is available in both black and white. There are many types of lighting from reading, to study to sleep with several brightness levels for each! So there should be a pleasing choice available for every situation. As a night light or for those that read in bed and fall asleep, there is a 60 minute timer option too!!
The lamp swivels 45 degrees in each direction from the base. The light moves forward or back on an elbow. The light itself swivels on the head as well! It even folds straight up to be out of the way when not in use! Of course the best part is that it is LED so uses very little electricity for those "green" of us and also don't like giving up more money to the electric companies! I have also seen the same company has one with a clock as well. I use my phone for clock and alarm so didn't need another clock in the house to set every power outage :silly:
LED is the future for lighting and saving $$$$
