Because the dev edition is just an international m8 with an unlocked bootloader. You can unlock the bootloader. As for the international version software/firmware. No.

I apologize if your question was serious. But, as the poster above stated, a developer edition isn't really anything special other than that it comes factory sim and bootloader unlocked. There's really no such thing as converting to a developer edition.

Actually if I can install the developer edition rom on Verizon M8 I will have no Verizon bloatware and it gets the fastest software updates directly from HTC.
Like my At&t M7 converted to Developer Edition received kitkat update 1 month before At&t released it.
Also Verizon rom has removed a few options such as switching between 2g/3g. It only has a switch between 3g/4g. I live in India where only a few states have 4G ang I dont have 4G in my region. But this is just an example.

I'm assuming you're speaking towards being able to receive the regular OTA's from HTC for the dev edition. While it should be possible to flash a stock dev edition rom, I can't say for certain whether you would actually be able to receive the OTA's.

No visit the GPE RUU conversion thread and it states that conversion works only for GSM models and doesn't work with CDMA. Bad luck you are with Verizon, screw them and use a gsm carrier like att or T-Mobile

The dev edition uses Sense. I can say that for sure because I have a dev edition. That being said, there still could be a conflict because of Verizon/CDMA since the dev edition is based on GSM.

Just right after theq announced that HTC updated their ruu's, I decided to.go see if there were anything new which turned out to be true. HTCdev release not only for Tmobile US, but other carriers like Orange and so on. So people who haven't unlocked their nitpickers you now have the chance to do so so good luck and happy unlocking

HTC released the new RUU for all providers, there is no need to have a specific thread for every carrier

We won't know until someone has one. One X locked down by ATT (per HTC), but I doubt Sprint would make such a stupid move.
Regardless, locked/signed/etc bootloader will never stop the dev community.

I agree. There are people on here that are way smarter than people that write these programs and software. Obviously since it always gets harder and they always figure it out. I'm sure it will be unlockable

If you would like to see what is available for the LTE go here.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335368 ,this thread lists all the leaked roms.
HTC One X has root, still working on S-Off and boot loader though
Yes.
(To answer OP's question)
I've read about SuperCID and what it is and does, but one thing is left unclear to me. Would SuperCID allow me to flash a Sprint RUU and use the phone on sprint's network? What are the advantages of SuperCID when it comes to flashing ROMs from other carriers with radios that are not compatible with Verizon's network?

Thank you for the link! Bummer about not being able to flash over to Sprint's network though.
@dspcap @wrarvoz link goes to invalid thread—could any one of you explain me what was there?

okay, straight to the point then—is there any problem between Verizon/Sprint version and SuperCID? I own Sprint version of it, I know there was some kinda problem between them that ended up with I never gonna touch SuperCID stuff, but seems like I completely forgotten what was happened as it was like last year. any suggestions?

It could, but if it doesn't you're still going to have major issues. Just stick to the Verizon HTC One forum. You're not going to find anything that we don't have here.

Do y'all think we will be able to s-off/unlock the t-mobile m8 boot loader?
If not I'd rather deal with the dev edition since I'm in a 1900 reframed area and am not dependent on the tmobile model bands.

Honestly, yeah we should be able to do the Dev unlock through HTC and then s-off will come later
Also, how do you know that you're in the reframed area?? I'd love to see if I am also.

There's also an unofficial user contributed map floating around.

Firewater Devs Release S-Off for the HTC One M8!
Has anyone been able to try this on T-Mobiles version of the M8? I know some people out there already have the Tmo version before the official release date this Friday. I probably won't be buying one until June or July.

WeakSauce does NOT work on T-Mobile.
However, from my personal experience with a T-Mobile variant this evening, HTCDev works to unlock it. You can then subsequently root the device through custom Recovery, then use Firewater to S-Off.
Thank you very very much for the reply. I kind of figured the HTC unlock would work but was going to try to avoid it if possible and just use root to obtain S-Off. Oh well. Voided warranty here I come. Lol
