I've read about SuperCID and what it is and does, but one thing is left unclear to me. Would SuperCID allow me to flash a Sprint RUU and use the phone on sprint's network? What are the advantages of SuperCID when it comes to flashing ROMs from other carriers with radios that are not compatible with Verizon's network?

Thank you for the link! Bummer about not being able to flash over to Sprint's network though.
@dspcap @wrarvoz link goes to invalid thread—could any one of you explain me what was there?

okay, straight to the point then—is there any problem between Verizon/Sprint version and SuperCID? I own Sprint version of it, I know there was some kinda problem between them that ended up with I never gonna touch SuperCID stuff, but seems like I completely forgotten what was happened as it was like last year. any suggestions?

Yes there is. Also, you should always be using the one from the carrier it came from when using stock.
I thought they have the same hardware, can you elaborate why it can't be done?

Mind if I ask why it matters? (not trying to be rude)
And the bootloaders and radio are different if I remember correctly. (A simple search would give you a better, more detailed answer)

I can speak from experience, if he's in Canada on the Stock ATT ROM, on the Telus Network, the Stock ROM could get very annoying.
For example:
When you open the contacts app it tries to sync to ATT for a good 1-3 minutes until it finally fails because it can't sync to ATT and only then can you see your contacts.

I don't think you understood is question correctly. He wants to know why he can't load the Telus stock ROM on his AT&T device.

No I understand the question, I was just letting you know a reason on "why it matters" and why he may want to have telus on his att variant.

The difference is the modem which connects to the network, wifi, Bluetooth and carrier restrictions/bloatware. You should use the rom that corresponds to your device to avoid issues with connecting to your network and etc. I think someone mentioned it could brick your phone (flashing Telus rom onto att s3).

My mind is getting close to exploding, im so sorry if this is common knowledge to the majority of you but ive been googling and searching here for a long time. Will someone ease my mind please, does the bootloader COME unlocked on the t-mobile version of the s4? Am i correct on that? And as far as other carriers, its locked? Thank you much.
Bootloader = unlocked
Carrier = locked
But you can easily unlock referring to this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068

Currently you have to be on 4.2.2 in order to use rumrunner to gain s-off. Sounds like we'll have an updated method soon, though.

I'm not sure when the new method of s-off will be available, but your best bet would be not to take the 4.4 update from Verizon since you can't downgrade like the previous post mentions.

Right, if you're on 4.3 you're stuck for now. It will posted in the Original Android Development section when it's ready. The instructions for the method will be in the thread when it's posted.

I had a similar problem. Just get into a live chat with a customer service rep and say the phone hasn't been working properly since the update. They ship out phones with 4.2.2!

It won't be long until we get s-off for 4.3. I did the replacement thing, but the phone had gaps and didn't line up...had the camera issue too. I sent it back. I'd rather have my original phone over a refurb. Just my .02 though.

In case you haven't seen it by now, the new S-Off program is called firewater, and you can follow them on twitter @firewaterdevs. They have posted a video of it in action on youtube. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it is released soon.

It's tough to say... the S4 got the 4.3 update before any other carrier surprisingly. Whether or not that was just a mad push to sell more Galaxy Gear I dunno, but perhaps their updates are starting to roll out quicker these days.

Perhaps. In my eyes all the carriers are all about the $$$$$.
On the other hand you would think Verizon wouldn't make such foolish decisions such as delaying the One for FIVE MONTHS. I bet they lost tons of money trying to sell their crappy Droid lineup and failing miserably. They also delayed the S4 by about a month behind other carriers. I really don't know what goes through their head honestly. Whatever it is, it's not intelligence...

Do y'all think we will be able to s-off/unlock the t-mobile m8 boot loader?
If not I'd rather deal with the dev edition since I'm in a 1900 reframed area and am not dependent on the tmobile model bands.

Honestly, yeah we should be able to do the Dev unlock through HTC and then s-off will come later
Also, how do you know that you're in the reframed area?? I'd love to see if I am also.

Firewater Devs Release S-Off for the HTC One M8!
Has anyone been able to try this on T-Mobiles version of the M8? I know some people out there already have the Tmo version before the official release date this Friday. I probably won't be buying one until June or July.

WeakSauce does NOT work on T-Mobile.
However, from my personal experience with a T-Mobile variant this evening, HTCDev works to unlock it. You can then subsequently root the device through custom Recovery, then use Firewater to S-Off.
Thank you very very much for the reply. I kind of figured the HTC unlock would work but was going to try to avoid it if possible and just use root to obtain S-Off. Oh well. Voided warranty here I come. Lol

I deeply apologize if I'm just blind, or getting old and senile, but who are all these Roms for?!? Which carrier? It gets a bit hard deciphering sometimes, and I'm not sure what the General thread is for.
Thanks for any light you may shed for this Sprint guy. If it's been answered, I again a apologize, but this XDA app doesn't do well with search.
