I have an old One X that i thought i would flash with the Viper 4.0.7 Rom. Everything went well but when it goes to reboot after installation it just sticks at the HTC boot screen and doesnt go any further. I did flash it with the viper 3.6.0 ROM but it kept saying 'unfortunately viper tweaks has stopped working". It eventually sorted itself out and i could navigate through all of the phone fine but the WIFI wouldnt work hence the flash to 4.0.7. I restored back to my original HTC ROM after getting frustrated and tried to do a system update but it kept booting into the custom recovery boot menu and wouldnt let the phone do the update.
So first is there a way to stop the phone from booting into the TEAMWIN recovery boot when trying to do HTC system updates?
And is their a stable viper rom around?? and if the 4.0.7 is the stable rom why isnt it working on my One X??
Hboot to low is my first guess. If you want to do official ota you must flash back the stock recovery. A custom one can't handle HTC updates

Hey guys.
I tried to flash my HTC Desire with ROM Manager.
I DL'ed the Cyanogen mod 6.0.2 and did a full recovery backup of the system in clockwork mod before continuing with the flash.
I left the phone alone for 20+ minutes, but it kept booting to the blue cyanogen mod bootlogo/flash. It still does that.
What have I done wrong, and can I fix it?
It boots nicely into the HBOOT menu, but I am unable to select the recovery button, it simply doesn't respond.
Is there any way to wipe it and flash the stock 2.2 FroYo ROM & 5.x.x Radio back to it?
I've got the AT&T HTC One M8. Bootloader unlocked, rooted, S-off, TWRP recovery.
I'm trying to flash ViperOne M8 and done just about everything I can think of but without any luck. It completes install, but upon reboot, just shows the white screen with HTC logo and red text, and then reboots. At that point, I'm able to use ADB to get into recovery but can't boot into ROM.
I've been trying ViperOne 1.6.0, and currently downloading an older version to see if that'll work.
I tried Android Revolution HD and InsertCoin. Both worked fine, so I know I'm able to flash custom ROMs just fine, but not ViperOne. Any ideas?
Tried flashing .img with fastboot and .zip with TWRP, both cause boot loop.

Start from the first release and do the OTA Updates up to 1.6.0.

i flashed stock with cyanogen mod 10.2 rom with cwm recovery and it works fine ..
yesterday i tried the update cyanogen mod 11 snapshot m7 by updating via settings>about phone>cyanogen mod updates.
i have successfully downloaded and clicked on it and it got rebooted and installed.
but after that, when i rebooted, my phone got stuck on the blue cyanogen mod spinning logo. thinking that the update file may be corrupted, i restored nandroid backup via cwm recovery. but after that, it got stuck on htc one x logo..

Have you tried to clean/wipe cache and factory reset afterwards?
this is NOT the HTC One XL forum, if you flash roms from thisd subforum you might brick your device ! go to the HTC One XL (AT&T) forum and download the proper rom from there.

are you flash the boot.img? are you make Full wipe?
Do as @Thant said. And please don't make multiple threads about the same subject, it gets confusing. You can just bump the original thread if you are getting no response.
Hello guys,
Just got my m9 a few hours ago, decided to root,s-off etc
Anyway, I did something stupid and Im stuck on the android logo.
Here is what I did.
-I updated the device through the stock recovery, there was another update but I didnt install i.
- unlocked the bootloader, phone rebooted and was working fine
-installed costume recovery(TWRP), I didnt boot into it because there wasnt and option like in the m8 to boot in recovery from bootloader.
-I reset the device and installed the update(stupid move I knew the stock recovery is not there)
- I got into TWRP and the updated failed so I had the SUbinary.zip so I plashed it and decided to reboot
-Here I got a note that theres no OS installed so I installed android Revolution, I placed it in the sdcard prior
- after flashing it I pressed on reboot yet I get no OS installed and now im stuck on the HTC logo.
BTW I can boot into boot loader but it says sd card not mounted (64GB)
Edit:
I entered into recovery, flashed AR again, its installs everything normally but I realized on the installation log last line : set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
still I get no OS installed
I got it working now. Anyone whos having this problem just use the beta recovery because the official one is broken
here's a like https://basketbuild.com/devs/Captain_Throwback/One (M9)/Recovery
just flash it normally and install the rom again.
now i will have to go back to stock recovery and download the OTA the flash TWRP again -.-
will the OTA work on the ARHD and stock recovery or thats not possible?

I dont think the OTA will work.
either find the latest full RUU and flash it, or an older RUU, flash it, then do all the available OTAs.
Then redo TWRP and ARHD.

Thats good to hear, sometimes TWRP will say that there isn't any OS installed but actually there is just reboot the device.
After updating through the OTA I installed ARHD and I got the same error again with the latest recovery. I think its because when I did wipe the data there root directory is changing make the phone unable to boot or there is a problem with the rom although it flashed before the update.
Here is a fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...h-recovery-t3066720/post59934542#post59934542
If it didn't work try to format data in the recovery and reboot. Make sure you have a ROM or back up on an SD card.
Since your phone is running I would suggest you to S-off because from what I understand is RUU (for Europe) will only work with S-off
