I have yet to try a case on my moto x for the first 8 months of having it. I don't like small slim cases because they add some bulk without adding really any protection beyond the cosmetic. I wanted a less bulky "full protection" type case that still had some good looks to it. The trident aegis is perfect! It has a nice looking profile (albeit different than the moto x) and protects the phone fully. It is a bit of a lint magnet because the corners are rubberized but it doesn't actually stick in my pocket too much. Haven't gotten tired of the additional bulk or weight and I don't have to worry about my phone anymore. I did botch the screen protector a little bit as the top is caught on the top lip so a small bubble there, but overall not too hard to apply. For $20 over on amazon it is a steal!!
Thanks for the pics that's not as bulky as I thought. Trident makes good cases, I have the Kraken for outdoor activities.
It is a shame that it does not have the M dimple.
I thought the same, but I actually don't miss it too much. It does have a rubber strip where the trident logo is which actually does much in the way of keeping the phone grounded on a table. I can now swipe text without it swinging about.
Although that may be due to the extra weight!

How does the edge of the case feel against your ear? I had the Otterbox on my D4 for about 3 phone calls before taking it off due to the hard edge of the case.
Hmm can't say it feels especially different, it's not hard plastic resting right against your ear as the layer of rubber is just beneath it

Nice review, not too bulky

I've had this case for a couple of months and like it a lot. My only issue is it is a bit of a pain to put on/take off, so I use my Incipio Dual Pro more regularly. Not quite as much protection, but close.
Note that I only use a case when I am out and know that it might get knocked about. If you keep a case on it regularly this would obviously not be an issue.
I love the recent kraken ams case, very tough, not like the old plastic version

Does anyone have this one or used it? I just watched the video of it at Wireless Ground and it seems pretty high quality (for a silicon case). Would like to hear your thoughts. Its getting harder to wait for the Otterbox.
http://www.wirelessground.com/t-mobile-mytouch-4g-silicone-case-black.html
Looks OK. I had a silicon case and I hated it. Waste of $9. Really tacky, hard to remove from pocket, dust magnet, messed with screen protector.
If you want a temporary solution while you wait for the Otterbox, I recommend a TPU case.
The link below is what I am rocking!!! CHEAP and WORKS WONDERS!!!

I have this and have had no problems. Absorbed one drop with no damage and doesn't get in the way. Super easy to remove and seems to retain shape well.

TPU is the way to go
I just ordered one. I'll let you know how the quality is when I receive it. It has to better than the TMo silicon case that I've had since launch. This thing is all stretched out like a used....ah, you know what I mean.

Thanks for the feedback guys, looking forward to how you like it Maxxreign. Please do update. I have a tpu case now from tpu-cases.com and I am not a big fan simply because it covers and power button and makes it difficult to press. I love the tpu feeling and how it doesn't attract dust though. Tpu doesn't have much give so I am not sure how much protection it would give you if you dropped the phone. I had ordered a $3 silicon case from Amazon (from SF Planet) http://www.amazon.com/Black-Silicon...MMWK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297189892&sr=8-1
and I dig if for the moment. Slides in and out of the pocket easily. I think I will be sticking with silicon for the moment.
I've gone through my fair share of cases for the MT4G: TMo silicon, Case Mate CC case and the Seidio case. I love Case Mate cases but the added CC sleeve makes for added bulk and the Seidio case just creaks/squeaks like crazy. I'm not a big fan of the silicone cases collecting dust either but they feel great in hand.
We'll keep you all posted.
@DMC78 OEM silicon case came in from WG yesterday. Fit, finish and quality is far superior to the TMo one. Unlike the Tmo case, the power, volume and camera buttons are exposed and the edges ride up a little higher to make for a better fit. In addition, the silicon is a lot thinner. IMHO, this is by far the best case I've owned for the MT4G.

Thanks for the feedback. How is it for attracting lint? Does it fit pretty snug?
Being silicon, it still attracts lint. However, not as much as the TMo one. The finish is comparable to the finish of the hard cases by Case-Mate. Granted it could be because it's new, the case fits really snug.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a thin case or shell? I prefer something clear or with at least a clear back

Check out the cheap TPU cases on ebay. They arent the beefiest, but if all you want is minor protection against bumps and scratches, TPU is the way to go.
Case-mate barely there is a really thin and stylish case. It's probably the thinnest and pretty much fits the phone perfectly. If you're looking for a thin phone case that will protect from "minor" drops, looks sexy and sleek, and doesn't add barely any bulk then it's the way to go.
If you're considering a seidio case, I used to use the thinnest of evo seidio cases but it turned out their quality went way down hill within past years. With their thinnest offering it scratched the top of the evo. Then they made a revision which fit nicely but the part where your volume buttons are was extremely flimsy (mine broke). Not only that but they also used a cheaper rubber material that eventually rubbed off. I understand that they had to save some money from messing up the first time but damn.
So if you're considering a thin case and don't like the case-mate then at least choose something different from the seidio one so you wont be sorely disappointed like myself. I spent like $39.99 on that piece of junk with the belt clip while the case mate was only like $10.
Thanks for the recommendations. I am going to yet the Griffin Reveal since it has a clear back

ive tried several cases...all ranges,, ringke earth has so many colors and its wicked thin...
I just got the Griffin reveal case. It fit very well and I can since it is clear I see the white back of the phone!
I also recommend the Ringke Earth cases. I would recommend the casemate barely there, but taking it off has caused scratches along the place where the case ends

Casemate Barely There hands down!!! It does not offer much if any protections from drops, but it prevents your camera lens from getting scratches from sliding the phone on the table..etc
A lot of people don't even notice that there is a case on my phone.
Agree though that I will leave scratches on the side of you phone. I also had this problem with the ID Case for the iPhone though.
So I'm that type of person who has a case for every day of the week. Lol
I have here in order from left to right on the picture
Case logic pouch (For Android/Windows Phones is what it said on the packaging)
Otterbox Defender
Otterbox Commuter
Generic Black TPU Case from ebay
Generic blue hard snap on case.
The leather pouch is awesome! It fits the phone naked or with any of my cases with the exception of the otterbox defender. I had a Seidio spring loaded holster for use with the Captivate+Innocase and it had a very snug fit for the Atrix+any of the other cases aside from the Defender.
The defender is actually really nice on this phone! I had it on the Captivate and it was wayyy to bulky and it made it extremely frustrating whenever you tried to touch the capacitive buttons on the bottom. With the Atrix, it doesn't add too much bulk and I can feel safe whenever I have it on my phone. I usually use this one when I know I'm going somewhere where they'll be potential damage to my phone like the beach.
The commuter is my personal favorite case! It looks real nice with the fancy design on the back. It doesn't add too much bulk, but does add a good ammount of protection. I find it strange that all the Captivate otterbox cases make the phone twice as big, but that's not the same case for the Atrix. It's even stranger that a naked Atrix is bulkier than a naked Captivate.
The generic black TPU is also pretty nice. It doesn't add much bulk at all, but TPU usually offers good protection. Mine specifically has that stupid common Argyle pattern, but it's in the inside so it's not shown on the back of my phone! The only problem I have with this case is the fact that it attracts fingerprints like no tomorrow.
The generic blue snap on case was an impulse buy when I got my phone. I just wanted to make sure it was protected out of the box. I don't really like this case too much as I'm not a big fan of hard cases to begin with.
I'm still waiting on the Candyshell, and other cases to come out. I'll update asap!
If anyone has any detailed questions about any of the cases, let me know!!!

I dont feel like a loner anymore lol! I've always been obsessed with cases. I have the OBD, OBC, Feather, Bodyglove and the Candyshell. Caint wait for Sedio to release a Active X or Rugged. I'm also hoping for some case-mates soon? Request? http://support.case-mate.com/index.php?pg=request
I'm waiting on the seidio active x with holster! I loved the seidio holster I had for my captivate! It works pretty well still with certain atrix cases, but I ended up giving it away. Lol
Not the biggest case mate fan but ill submit a request and well see ;Db

I just ordered the black tpu with the argyle pattern on the inside off Amazon. I have a question for you, the buttons for volume look molded in, how hard is it to push the buttons with the case on?
How much bulk does the commuter add? I'm thinking of picking it up but I don't want it to be fat
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I didn't find it harder to press at all with the tpu case. Then again that might just be me not paying full attention to it. I'm not very picky... lol
The commuter does add a bit of bulk, but I don't think its bad at all especially for the ammount of protection it adds. I do also really dig the design on the back! I heard that it won't fit with any docks though to give you an idea. I was able to dock my phone with the TPU case though.

That was my biggest concern because I didnt really want a case but didn't want a broken phone. So I got the commuter and love that it doesn't make it that much bigger but makes it feel a ton safer.

I just got the TPU case... dropped it from my lap getting out of the car in a parking garage.. unscathed. great case.. doesnt look as fancy as others but it does the job and its a pretty good price.
yeah, i bought a few of those snap on hard cases just for the sake of protection, however, they are a ***** to get off! And i use my vehicle dock often, so thats a no go. I bought a clear skin (like a zaag), and havent looked back since. It actually makes the back of the phone shinny and the CF weave pattern really POP...looks more like real CF
After checked a cpl of cases for my new Atrix, I found one in HK and its dirt cheap too ($6!!). Dual material PC + TPU with transparent back, flame, scratch resistant, very light and thin, washable too. The fact I disliked about otterbox and similar heavy armed cases (aside of being very bulky) is a lack of heat dissipation.
My suggestion goes for Momax iCasePro:

Top notch.

Helpful post, I got the commuter, it's pretty good
never really saw the need for a case it makes a good phone look ugly and doesnt really protect i prefer invisible shields
Until it slips out of your hands and hits the ground and ends up looking worse than with a case..... I like the look of the commuter otter box case

Question for anyone that does not mind answering. I currently have the otterbox defender which I have to say I enjoy having it while I am out running around etc. Like that feeling of safety with the "hefty" case since I have large hands does not bother me to much. BUT, I was thinking of getting another case to use just around the house and thinking about the feather case or something small and minimal. I tend to set my phone face down most of the time. Any suggestions? also to expound upon that if anyone else has tried or done this before if I did that i would look into getting a adhesive screen protector. If I did that would it work with the otterbox defender and its built in screen protector would I maybe have to cut that out? Which I am not totally opposed to just seems almost like a waste. I know gorilla glass is tough stuff I am just the meticulous kind of person that if i saw the scratch on my screen I would not be able to let it go and it would drive me crazy.
Ryan,
I would suggest either the otterbox commuter (still kinda bulky, but not as bad as the defender), or the body glove mirage (nice and thin).
As far as the screen protector, I've used the matte/anti glare from att with the defender. I do kinda notice its not as responsive when I'm typing and etc, but thar might just be a mental thing.

I read in the other thread, but I've seen lots of other people with barely there cases (different phones) that I really like. So does anyone have one, and if so, how is it?
I have it but don't use it. It's a really nice case, very well built, excellent material, fits perfectly, but it doesn't protect the top and bottom edges of the phone, so if you drop it, you'd better hope it doesn't land there, hence my not using it. Otherwise, it's really my second favorite case to the body glove.
The Body Glove case is really nice. Fits good and has a nice texture to it that is grippable but not "sticky" in the pocket.
I ordered the body glove and ballistic case. When I get them will let every one know
sent from LG OPTIMUS LTE using Tapatalk
I use the Barely There case.. I used to swear against them because my past experiences with them, they were flimsy and cheap, but this one is actually very nice and durable!!
But its just as the name says, barely there. If you want to keep the look of the phone and add a little bit of extra protection *just in case*, than this is good.
If your notorious for dropping your phone a lot, you probably should veer away from this case though. The way the case wraps around the corners but doesnt cover the top or bottom is enough to mostly keep it protected, but dropping it on the top or bottom with the screen side slightly tilted towards the ground is going to damage only the phone and not even touch the case its in.
Update
I found the Body Glove case on ebay for $5, so I bought it and I really like it, except the back is slippery
Haven't used the barely there case but I can speak from experience on the ballistic case and it is definitely protection worth the money. By far the most durable case in my opinion.

Worth a shot for the price. Dont see why not mate. Plastic but obvious coz cheap.
I have this in clear! I really like it. It's not the fanciest, but it looks pretty good, and I have a hard time considering a case w/o a kickstand. Just FYI, the black part on the one you posted would be TPU and the "matte' part is a harder plastic. The grips on the side are texturized, but not uncomfortable to hold. The kickstand functions well, but I did shave off some bits leftover from the stamping where it pivots in. I also taped over the inside since the back of the phone would be exposed with the kickstand open -- not really a big deal, I just felt like it. The power button is a little stiff on mine, but I haven't had any other problems with it interfering with buttons, etc.
I have a very similar case for my Nexus 7. Seems like a solid value for a few bucks.
So the white clear part it hard plastic? Hmm.... Might be a deal breaker. I have the Seidio case with kickstand right now... But the soft rubber collects lint like a mofo and it really bothers me. And the Trident Kraken is just too big. I might get a plain TPU case and "engineer" the outside of piece of my case on top of it.
