I need a couple people to test a Stock Rom to see if I can get it to work for GSM also. Currently the ROM is for Sprint. This is one of the ROM's I'm working on. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51429659
I'm trying to make it similar to what xboxfanj has done for the gee and geeb ROM's. It may not be possible with Stock, but I'll give it a shot.
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for anything that may happen to your phone. You do this at your own risk.
Requirements:
Must know how to restore your EFS, just in case.
I like to use this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1758398&d=1361757332
Make a nandroid backup before doing this, to restore with.
It's probably best if you have your version of the Stock ROM for your phone. Then I'll have you DL a stripped version of the ROM. Updates/fixes will be small as most of the changes will be in the build prop.
_______________________________________________________________
If you're interested PM me. I'll try to watch this thread, but it's probably best to ask in this thead. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51429659
Sounds like a brilliant idea. The dev numbers for all LGOGs are steadily decreasing, having unified stock roms will only result on good things. If i have time I will PM you this weekend. Everyone should get on this pr it may not happen.

You just need to make sure that it runs and everything right? If so, I can probably help you out and flash and give it a quick test
Anything specific you may want me to check?

It'll run. sbelley is a lot of the reason for this. It ran on an E973. Calls worked but data didn't. So I need calls, data, and SD checked if you have it. The ROM you'll DL is as small as I could make it, so it's just part of Stocktimus. There shouldn't be any issues as far as losing EFS, but just in case, I want to make sure you have a backup. I'll send you a PM with instructions, in case you want to give it a shot. Thanks

MultiRom is still too new, so I'd rather not yet. I need to keep everything basic to start with. It'll be easier for me to try things if I need too.

Hmm. I've been using multirom to boot geeb, geespr and geehrc roms without issue, since all roms are separated except the sdcard. But i can understand your point of view.
Well, i guess the chance to try new thing is too alluring. Count me in. Do i need to flash different recovery?

Those are all CM/AOSP I'm sure, and Multiboot may very well work. My issue is working with LG Stock which is not as easy to go from CDMA to GSM. Yet. :fingers-crossed:
Give Multiboot a try. If it doesn't work then my preference is the KK version of TWRP from here. http://downloads.codefi.re/shelnutt2/freegee/LG-LS970/ Other KK compatible recoveries should work also.
I'll send you a PM in a sec.

My testing: definitely ROM doesn't apply to E975 from a network perspective. "Roaming" menu and "LTE settings" menus shouldn't exist, not applicable to GSM/WCDMA/LTE international. Calls / data unavailable.
Unless this is resolved, can't be used on E975. Keep good work. Cheers.

Well after much internal thought I decided to release a CarbonDev rom with Houcha kernel I built from source.
I used Haze028's guide along with great help from chadouming for device/vendor/houcha kernel work.
I have tried upgrading the kernel using the releases in the houcha kernel thread, that works to keep up to date on kernel changes.
Its built and tweaked for Canadian E971-E973 so thats all I can confirm working.
Its very stock except I chose to use Novalauncher as this is my own launcher of choice.
I baked in AwesomeBeats (credits to pimp my rom) for some quality sound as using dspmanager wasn't working for me at all.
As far as I know, everything is working, I tested all main functions as best I can but I'm sure someone will find something that's not working.
If you do, let me know about it here and I'll try to fix it.
Thanks to everyone I mentioned and anyone I forgot who helped along the way!
P.S If you're running CM10.1 or Houstonns AOKP/CM/PA, you can install this without KDZ'ing, just wipe data/factory reset/dalvik and install.
Otherwise you will likely have to KDZ to the first Freegee able kdz.
If someone wants to test please do and let me know!
Some highlights I didn't mention:
Automatic Zip aligning
Using houcha built in opensourced mpdecision and thermald (binaries for these two are fully removed from filesystem).
<update> ONLY ICS modem working, modem files I had were both ICS. </update>
I setup a "tweaks" (look for "kerneltweaks" file in /system/etc/init.d) file for colour settings and for setting your own governor and io scheduler at boot (I don't like using the Performance Control gui for setting at boot, I use it just to monitor settings).
Colour settings are active but the governor and io are remmed out. The governor io scheduler settings that are remmed out are what I use.
Download V1 here:
http://d-h.st/d4L
Download V2 here, fixed Hangout video call crash:
http://d-h.st/m4O
For manual fix, put this file in /system/lib/soundfx (replacing existing file) to fix Hangout video call crash. V2 fixed rom uploaded.
http://d-h.st/Yxy
Modem links removed because I found out they are were both the same ICS modem just renamed. Sorry for the confusion.
Nice, great work!
Is there anything special to do when flashing? Is it necessary to kdz back to a particular version before? Right now I'm on OTA Telus JB (rooted and freegee'd of course !)

Good question and the answer is yes you shouldn't be on OTA jb as far as I know.
Should have the same requisites as CM10.1/AOKP which was (for Rogers) the D version KDZ.
So if you're running CM10.1 or Houstonns AOKP, you can install this straight up.

I am running it on an AT&T e970, and everything is working perfectly. Looking forward to a resync and update. There are some minor settings commits on carbons github that have been updated since you released. I have not run into any issues. Everything is working perfectly fine. Thanks for the great rom.
Thank you very much! I appreciate it greatly.
I was waiting for some feedback before going forward because I wanted to gauge how good/bad I'd done so far!
I'll resync/update in short order, going through some health stuff this week.

This has worked wonderfully for me,
i find that it wont connect to data untill i go into the dialer and enter *#*#DATA#*#* once
so far no bugs that i can tell.......:fingers-crossed:

and do you mind if i post a link for this rom in the Sprint LG G2 Dev section? or maybe have the Mods move it to the right section?
ill se if i can put a request for this thread to be moved, this is great work.
i'm not a dev but i can post a tutorial on how to get it working of the Sprint G2 if you would like
Im eager to try this out by the way does it have rotation issues after trying cm10.2 i have rotation issues
Issues found
Okay been running this for about a week now and this is what I found so far:
-MMS doesn't work, I receive notifications for them but never download
-Wifi and bluetooth are buggy, toggles from the Quick Settings menu tend to get stuck after 2-3 toggles and require a reboot to fix
-Dialer doesn't pick up touches sometimes
-NFC gets stuck in on position and causes massive wakelocks. I ended up disabling NFCService and Tag Service to stop the issues
-Mobile Networks Section has GSM settings in it
-Flash seems disabled in AOSP Camera app
-Rotation issues like other AOSP roms
Besides that though the ROM is surprisingly usable for being one of the few roms available for the Sprint G2, I would definitely like to see your build code since it looks 90% in working condition.

usually the culprit of not wiping. its a given that you need to wipe every time you switch roms especially from stock to custom rom.

It's the little things. I had to reflash stock and reroot a couple hours ago, so this could've saved me a decent amount of time. Could've just flashed it right over the stock problems I was having.
Its a start, why im excited....theres hope! lmao
But hey, thank you...if I royally mess up i know i do not have to go through hoops to make it better

Sold my note 3 and decided to try out the G3, using the Tmobile variant here in Canada and working great! All bands supported with LTE. Definitely need to get used to this phone as in my eyes I'm seeing quite the lag and hoping maybe this stock rooted will help. Thank you
What's the easiest way to reboot into recovery using Stock Rom? Anyone...... Also what's the difference between this rom and the backup that I made when I first rooted?

Or you can install the latest Xposed and G3 TweaksBox from the LG G3 forums. Xposed is working on ART for me.

You did some good work on that rom for the S4, it was definitely one of the better stock roms imo. I hope putting a rom together for the G3 goes smoothly.
Here ya go!
Advanced apologies if this violates any rules. Mods can remove attachments if need be.
@ThePagel - Sorry to jump your task, I figured you've had a busy day so I realized since I have a working G3, I can save you the trouble. Hope your bathroom turned out well
@COCODRILO45 - The QuickRemote.apk file can be found attached to my post. Enjoy :highfive:

Just flash a stock rom with the Lg Flashtool and you're back to clean stock.

Do you already know the thread here on XDA that takes you step by step on how to do it? If not let me know I'll find it and post it for you.

Firstly, What model are you running? d855? find out that and we can point you to the right rom.
for reinstallation of stock rom (w/ root etc) it comes in a single flashable zip, should take a backup of cm12 then need to wipe your rom (after you download the zip to storage) then install new zip for the stock rom... then reboot and you should have stock based rom!

Wait, are you wanting to just go back to stock with root, or are you wanting to like go 100% back to how it came out of the box, not rooted stock?
