Took me a while to find that one myself. Of course then it didn't work, apps didn't sort at all but it fixed itself after I reinstalled the beta and it would then sort them. Just an FYI in case you hit the button and nothing happens.

It's odd that I have nothing under Settings>General>Main Screen as in I don't have a "Main Screen", but if I am in the app drawer and I long press an icon (they start wiggling) and at the bottom in green you can tap it to put them in alphabetical order.

No, you don't. When its working they will immediately sort themselves, when something is hosed they won't restart or no. As to the fellow above you are on 1.2, they changed it in the beta to an option in the main settings and the drawer no longer sorts by a long press in the drawer.
Thanks lagunabad. I have been struggling to get TWRP on here, so I hadn't put the beta on yet. Finally got TWRP on just now, so I'll see what everyone else sees.

I just accidentally found another way to close the notifications menu.
Sorry if this is already known.
Usually to close the notification pull down, I flick it up or drag it up, but a few minutes ago I noticed that if I perform the same pull down motion again, notification will close.
That's all I got; so if even one person learned something new, then I'm happy.
Thanks, veritasaequita

Took me 3 reads to understand what OP was saying. Tl;dr easily readable version.
Nice trick

I tried and got nothing. Pretty sure you were just swiping down and accidentally hitting the back button.

Yeah he either hit the home or back

It's probably because he hit the status bar at the top. When the notification menu is pulled down you can tap the status bar and it will collapse back to normal.
It's working for me good find...

Edit. Yeah, it's because you're hitting the status bar.

Its because you touch the bottom bar of the pulldown window. all it needs is a tap.

Yep. If you tap bottom of pull down or status bar it will go back up. Has nothing to do with swiping.
If you use a alternative instead of touchwiz u can have custom methods to open then notification bar also. But everyone knows this one i believe

Yeah when I was using Launcher pro plus, I set the home button to open/close notifications (and to go to home screen when not on the home screen). Actually like it that way but I also like Touchwiz, wish I could get the same options with Touchwiz.
thats freaken awesome dude thanks! I have a problem trying to get it back up sometimes without clear button. so thanks for the find!
Good find. Thanks man

well your half correct...yes u can tap the bottom (which just makes it roll back open) "OR" you can swipe downward from the very top and it will instantly close. also it doesn't matter how far you swipe, its going to close regardless.

You don't gave to Swype down. Once you have the notification open a simple tap on the status bar will do the trick.

You can also use the back button to close the notification bar.
Very difficult to move icons on the home screen
Don't wait for the icons to "let go". Just long press and move Em. If you wait too long it will act like you let go.. Kinda hard to explain.

Noticed this. The only way i've found is to flick it away from the original position super fast and only then it lets me move it around and between homescreens.

This is due to nova launchers speed to be honest. The trick is to watch as soon as the icon begins to glow and then move it quickly. takes a little practice but its a learnable skill

That should be it.
Hahaha the little things that make a difference eh? It's easy to tell when we can move this on our phones because of the haptic feedback. I came to google the issue (thought perhaps my digitizer was defective, but it was okay everywhere else) glad to find this and the beta apk, cheers!
In nova settings there is an option to update which fixes all problems with nova. Just download and install apk for the win!!!
I am trying Nova.... I can't seem to get icons to show up "in the center" of the "icon area". I have screen set to 7 x 7 (I sure wish Nova had more rows), and when an app icon appears in it's space it is top justified, but widgets seem to be centered, so nothing lines up. I also like no margins, but the icon area also covers the dock, leading to problems. Does buying Pro fix this? Back to GO for me.
I hate the screen to the left of my home screen, how can I remove it?
Open the home screen you want to remove, long press anywhere on that screen until you see the WIDGETS button at the bottom, press WIDGETS button, then just long press the screen you wish to remove and drag to the top to remove.
To change or add back just do the same, but instead just put a check in the widgets you want adding. HTH

Unfortunately, there is no way to remove it with the touchwiz launcher, unrooted.

What did I just post above? You don't need root or anything else to remove it. However you will have to leave at least one widget, that cannot be removed.

Your response does not make sense. You can't remove the screen and you must leave at least one widget on it.

There are 2 screens to the left, you can remove the first one easily. The last one only the widgets can be removed except for one.
Just use an other launcher...
Use different launcher. Even custom Roms have that screen. I think it is unremovable.

lol No, I'm talking about the shadow at the bottom not the icons. I guess the screenshot isn't showing my issue off very well.
To see the shadowing one must turn the brightness to the max. I don't know how to get rid of it. I know I don't have it but I am in Nougat. And not so many icons can be presented at once.

Screenshot does show it quite well, I see what you mean. I guess it may look different on different screens ... and eyes [emoji14]
That said, I don't know how to fix it. Maybe try looking at some Xposed modules (you are running Marshmallow, right?)

use transparent pulldown menu, might look better than.
Is there somewhere else I need to check to rotate the home screen? Apps and phone manager rotate fine.
You need a 3rd party app to make that happen, normally you swipe down to bring the notification screen, then tap and hold the gear until it spins and then it goes off the right side of the screen, at this point it would normally go to setting and then see the system ui tuner in the menu, but Huawei has removed this and you have to download "Activity Launcher", but I dont think this works anymore as it stopped working on my HN8 after it updated to 8.0. But those are the two ways to make it work.

Thanks AngleDeath, I had it with stock L on my M10P, hopefully they will bring it to this to the big screen. I stay in landscape 90% of the time. Hate flipping back and forth.

@cccmachin Try the attached file, unzip and install, it can change the orientation of the screen. Been using it for years, plain and simple, nothing fancy.
install Screen Orientation from app store and you can manual/auto change to any direction that you want on any app

Confirmed it doesnt, but the update version in the play store does:\

But it does not lay out correctly.
