Problem with Speakerphone and SMS on Paranoid Android - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I just installed Paranoid Android 4.3 with OS Version 4.4.2 on my Galaxy S3, but I'm having a couple of problems with Speakerphone. If I play a Video in YouTube or an MP3, I can hear it quite loudly, but if I call someone and put it on Speakerphone, they are very quiet. Volume is already turned up the max.
Another issue I'm having is that I want to make it so certain Contact have different Notification sounds. I was able to do that in Stock, but all I can do in PA is change their Ringtone. Is it possible to change their Notification sound when I receive a text?

Notifications Through Headphones

Anyone else notice notifications (text/email) do not play over headphones? Is it me or WTF?
Note - I am rooted and using Domination HD rom, but honestly I do not remember them playing through headphones with factory rom.

[email protected], you're becoming the watchman for this forum, looking out for repeat postings lol. I wish Chris can just delete them or move them to the appropriate thread. I've been seeing so many new thread pop up lately asking the same questions we've been discussing a couple of months ago. As usual, nobody tries to search for it first.
Anywho, I just wanna mention one thing too regarding notifications. My situation is the opposite to what some people are experiencing. When people say they don't hear the notifications through the headsets, I can hear mine on the headsets AND on the phone as well. Yes, what I'm trying to say is that the notification rings on both the headset as well as on the built in speaker WITH the headsets PLUGGED IN. I didnt realize this until one day I was in the bus and had only one headset on and turned of the music when a text came in and i heard it on the free ear. I was like omg, have the other passengers been hearing this loud notifications all these times (I text a lot and thought they never heard anything) and I felt really bad.
Then I found out that the only way for notifications to not be heard on the built in speaker is to enable silent mode, in which the phone only vibrates. The funny part to that is that all notifications including ringtones still work normally on the headset, so I can hear notifications still without bothering people. I just have to remember to take it of silent mode once I disconnect the headset.

Thanks for the heads up! Weird that there are so many different symptoms of essentially the same issue - routing of notification audio.

[Q] Trying to disable notification sounds through Bluetooth

I am not 100% sure if this is specific to the rom I am running or not. But I am trying to disable all notification sounds from being played through my bluetooth headset, all I want to hear is call audio.
I am running Juggarnaut 5.0 and I have not tested this on the stock rom. If anyone has any suggests... thanks.

The only thing you can do is lower your notification volume in settings.

[Q] No Ringtone Sound for Incoming Calls. Any Ideas as what to do?

Hello, I am a novice to this rooting world but I have caught on well for my first 3 days of rooting. The mod is very stable, the only issue I have is when I get and "INCOMING CALL" from anyone, there is NO RINGTONE. The phone just vibrates. I have checked and double checked all my settings. I have wiped and reflashed several different versions of the stable Cyanogenmod Rom.
My current ROM manager is ClockworkMod 6.0.3.1
I have a Cyanogenmod 10.1.0-RC5-d2tmo with Android 4.2.2
Kernel version
3.4.45-cyanogenmod-ga5cab24
[email protected] #1
Obviously I have a Galaxy sIII aka SGH-T999
Any clue as to what to do?
What ringtone do you have set? Check ringer volume.

I have any random ringtone set from the android system. The ringer is set to the max. I believe it has something to do with either the way I am modding or maybe some type of kernel issue (above my head).

Mute ringtone without muting the alarm?

Isn't it really possible to mute the ringtone without muting the alarm(s)?
Running stock 5.0.1

You can also mute the ringtone by just pressing on the volume down button on any home screen. It only effects the ringtone. Not media or alarm sounds. If you do it, look to the right side of the window that pops up. You'll see a gear icon (for lack of a better term). Touch it and you can set them all from there.
Yes, exactly. Just as I thought.
I have a HTC One X as well, and there it works just as its supposed to.
However it does not work on my M8. As soon as I mute the ringtone the alarm mutes as well. And if I try to turn the volume up for the alarm, it just slides right down again. There must be a bug.
Any suggestions to fix this without doing a factory reset?
Just upgraded to MM, and its working now

Work around(s) for enabling top speaker for ringtones / notifications?

I as well as many other previous Nexus 6p owners have been noticing that ringtones / notifications only come out of the bottom speaker of the Pixel 2 XL. The irony of this is that any app besides the "Settings" app has all sound coming out of both speakers. Is there a program / workaround anyone knows of? I don't care if I have to root my phone; I want to use my dual front facing speakers!
Thanks,
~Mike
Too bad this apparently is not considered a bug, its just how its suposed to work. In my opinion its pretty dumb not to allow both speakers on incoming calls/notifications from Google.
I'm getting sounds out of both speakers when my phone rings. Not sure if this happened before I updated to 8.1, but I don't think so. Tested it with more than one ringtone, stock and custom. Now, my problem is the screen won't come on when the phone rings. I hope an update to the phone app fixes this soon.
Yes my also only the bottom one firing. Any solution?
Bumping this up, any solution?
Can someone please make a mod to enable dual speakers for ringtones?
Currently.. i am studying about sound mod on pixel 2 oreo 8.1.
My main objective is to fix the crackling issue.. btw.. i will look into this one too

I use a Tasker profile to get around this issue. Basically, I monitor the status of calls, and when the phone is ringing, I play my ringtone as media. Then as soon as the call is answered or ignored (offhook or idle), the exit task stops the media. I just set my actual ringtone in settings to "none". Other than that, it behaves exactly like a ringtone should. My task also matches the media volume to the ringtone volume while ringing, then restores the previous media volume setting. That way, if your phone is on vibrate, it won't still ring out loud. I can do a detailed write up on how I did it if anyone needs it.

That sounds like a great idea that I'd like to try. Can you please share that profile?
Like I said in other posts, sound does come out of both speakers with calls and notifications. When you're choosing a sound in settings, it does indeed only come out of the bottom speaker. I can't believe I'm the only one who has sounds coming out of both speakers when a call comes in. I've tested it with multiple sounds, too.

Confused with what you are saying. Are you saying that when you choose a ringtone in settings you no longer have it coming out of only the bottom speaker?

Yes. It only comes out of the bottom speaker when I'm picking the sound. When someone calls, I hear it from both speakers. I've tried this with both custom and system sounds.

I have attached my prj.xml I have literally never shared a Tasker project so I hope this is sufficient! If you have any questions, let me know!

Thanks a lot! I've only used profiles and tasks in Tasker before, but your project imported just fine. All I had to do was change your task's ringtone to mine and set my phone's ringtone to none. Now to wait for someone to call me.

Yes it does and it's great! I figured out how to test it by calling my cell phone from Google Voice/Hangouts on my PC.

ccoulterjg1 - please provide detailed instructions on how to get tasker profile to resolve the issue of the ring volume using the ring speaker configuration instead of the media speaker configuration, which should resolve the issue, as media volume is quite loud and ring volume is not (I need to be able to hear my phone ring when I am sleeping, and on-call).
