Hey guys,
Hope that someone can help me.
I managed to get my hands on another DHD in amazing condition, looks new, so that I could sell my original handset.
So I did the same as before unlocked the phone by HTC Dev, installed TWRP and then Cm11, fastboot flashed the boot.img file and it was alive.
After running through the set up, the phone the rebooted by itself (Weird I thought), then after about 10 mins it rebooted again and the phone reboots itself all the time.
There is no pattern that I have found, no set time limit to the reboots or particular apps that cause it to reboot??
I have also tried different Rom's and it still has the same issue.
Anyone got any ideas?

Have you tried changing the battery?
Hi Mickey,
Think I have found the problem, the phone has been sim unlocked, but for some reason does not like the one I have put in.
I will try some other sim cards and see if it is all networks this happens with.

Hello, i'm sorry that my first post on this forum is an question about my no longer working htc one x. I have been gathering information of this forum for a long time, and allways helped me, but this time i am really stuck. So in advance i thank you for all the help you already have given me
This is what happened
my first HOX had a defect sim reader, was declared DOA so i got a new one, so far so good
but after using the phone for about 2 weeks,
all apps started closing one at a time, untill the phone went black (it was still on, but nothing was working)
at first i tought i installed a bad app, so reset the phone to factory settings.
after i did that it worked for a few days untill the same phenomenon happened again.
this time i reset the settings via the power+volume button boot menu, and in android wiped the SD card.
again it worked for a few days,
untill it all started going haywire.
all the apps i installed the last time where whatssap and dropbox (no games and such)
now i rarely can get my phone to boot, or go into recovery.
when i connect it to my charger it has no red light.
if i get it to boot, i usually cant get past the sim unlock screen.
i have been thinking about returning it, or installing another rom (wich i have done before on my htc desire wich worked great)
problem is, i cant go into android to tick on the usb debug.
sorry for the long post, i'd be really happy if you could help me out in this one.
my htc is from the dutch vodafone provider.
cheers,
Schella

mmh i read about same problem with someone, here on xda, are your bootloader unlocked?
it seems to be a firmware problem, so you can try to install a ruu if it's available, and if it's not, you can try to ask for htc or vodafone to change it with another hox, or you can unlock bootloader and install a custom firmware, hoping that it will not give you the same problem! (unlocking bootloader MAY void all or part of your warranty)>>it depends only from htc... in some country they don't care, in some other, they will not repair it.
aha

i believe it is alowed here, but this was exactly my dilemma.. i think i'm going to return it for it is the safest option i guess. Maybe it is an hardware failure. thanks for the reply! my bootloader is locked btw
Firstly I am sorry if this has been covered in the forums - however I did not bump into this query or issue yet nor was Google able to find anything like it.
A few months ago I attempted to root my HTC one x by using the HTC One X AIO Kit.
It did not work - the phone stated it was Rooted however I was unable to run any custom roms or specific Apps. It wasn't causing any issues and the phone was running stable though so I left it as it was.
A few weeks ago my provider released out a new update that would fix the consistent issue I had with Data over 3G but since the phone was rooted it would updated it for me.
So after searching around I figured "why not just factory restore the phone and apply the Stock Kernel (2.6.39.4)
That was this morning... since then the phone has been stuck in a boot loop.
Tried clearing cache and tried a few different walk through to get it up and running but to no avail.
I managed to get it to boot into the phone however I get no reception, no Wifi, unstable, and once reset will once again go back into a boot loop cycle.
Does any one have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this issue?
At the moment the phone is not being recognized by the PC by USB as well.
Thank you Developer Gods.
*UPDATED*
Well looks like its hard bricked!
FML - New lesson learned I guess.
So your phone won't turn on at all now?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Try going into fastboot
Well its got be bloody confused.
It wont turn on and then sometimes it does and goes into the rom.
Rom is unstable though, doesn't pick up sim card - Wifi goes bonkers. In other words its corrupted as hell.
Go to charge it and it says it charges but doesn't (4% it sits on - leave it for an hour come back 4% is still there)
So there might be hope after all in getting this back up and running.
Scouring the net and forums now for something similar but nothing so far.

Tried that as well just now since its somehow booting.
But again once in, cant flash it and PC still doesn't pick it up so I cant run any tools.
Also connect it by USB cable and it looks up in fastboot. Disconnect the cable and its fine again.

Can you go into recovery?
Hi all, hopefully someone can help, I was using my phone fine earlier when all of a sudden it just switched off, wouldn't turn back on at all. After trying for a while I've gotten into fastboot. I've tried booting into recovery but no luck.
I've since tried wiping cache - no effect. Flashing recovery - 'FAILED (remote: image update error)'. Boot recovery image - reports success, does nothing.
I'm S-ON, was on a custom ROM. Anyone offer any advice?
Thanks.
Also, the phone doesn't seem to stay turned off now, keeps booting itself into fastboot.
What the model of the phone
Sent from my GT-I9195 using XDA Free mobile app
It's a UK One M8.
After a couple of hours of messing around with no luck it's now just turned on. No idea what that was about. Afraid to turn it off now!
If anyone sees this and does have advice I'd still appreciate it, feel like I'm probably on borrowed time...

have you had custom rom, recovery or root installed before?
I've only had this phone a month or so, rooted it pretty much straight away and installed Viper ROM. Left it alone since then waiting for Lollipop.
If you just mean experience wise, I've rooted all my phones for years, never had one randomly turn off for no reason and refuse to enter recovery though (thankfully), usually when I have issues its cos I did something daft!
Half way through Christmas day the phone froze up, completely unresponsive. Once the battery had died and I could turn it on again I was back to where I was, can't boot up, can't get to recovery, fastboot won't flash a new recovery, get the same failed message as last time.
Anyone got any ideas?

you could try this
http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/2014/09/how-to-fix-random-reboots-on-htc-one-m8.html
Thanks clsA. I'll take a look at the link...
The phone started working again late last night though, again no reason, just did. I took the opportunity to update the recovery, do a full wipe and install a new ROM. Hopefully I won't see the same issue again, if I do I'll try out that fix.
Thanks!
Hey guys my verizon g4 is stuck in bootloop and im not rooted, i cant get the past the lg boot screen, it stays on their for around 20 seconds goes black and back to lg screen.
I can get into recovery but none of the options do anything ive tried safe mode, usb debug mode i even tried factory reset they all just go back to the lg screen.
I was just watching a video on facebook when it froze restarted and now im stuck, ive been restarting it all day and i was able to get it to boot up twice but it froze again within seconds any help is appreciated
it might be the defective motherboard issue that people are having. you could try reflashing the system, but if that doesn't work you probably need a new motherboard/phone
Not an answer, but an experience.
I have an HTC ONE M8, VZW. I s-offed it and rooted it right when I got it. I began adding some of my google apps and it did what your G4 is doing, stuck on VZW screen.
Since I was s-off I was able to get a recovery in and ready. I was able to get a custom rom onto the phones external sd. I flashed it with the recovery and the flash took, no more vzw screen lock up.
Your experience makes me wonder what VZW is doing to force bootloops on unlocked or rooted phones with their retail products. Paranoid maybe, but I can see VZW deliberately adding code to stick it to rooted users.....................................I say this still knowing that many have rooted the current run of devices without issues...........................
luck
i read about the problems with the motherboard going bad, im assuming thats what happened to mine. Lg sent me a replacement under warranty
Update!
i called verizon they sending me a replacement. just to let you know i flashed 13B KDZ but the bootloop was still there i let my phone on and finally turned on quickly i did a factory reset and booted up normal and its working again. still im gonna send it back. just sharing my experience maybe for other people might work too.

What is the 13B KDZ and how did you flash it? Im having same exact issue.
My G4 tanked over the weekend. I was browsing news and the phone locked up, then it shut off and turned back on. It just bootloops now. If I stick it in the freeze for a few minutes, sometimes it will boot to the OS where it starts to optimize the apps. It will get through about 20 before it shuts off and starts the bootloop process again. I haven't even been able to get the download mode to stay on, and when it does enter download mode, it is not detected by the computer. I think my problem is the motherboard. I'm just hoping that they aren't able to figure out I had it rooted!
I'm still waiting to hear back from Verizon about a replacement.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can flash a stock rom back on this thing to try to save my tail? I am betting not since the phone won't stay on long enough to even flash the rom.

My phone was rooted and got into the bootloop also and I sent it in as is and nothing happened. So I think it would be fine to send it without the stock rom.

They mailed me a new one, no battery, no back. I put my battery, sim card, sd card, and back on the new phone, fired it up. Rolled it back, rooted it, then I mailed the old one back.
Personally, I love this phone, but I think I will be getting a nexus next.
Heya folks,
So my HTC 10 just randomly crapped out on me a few weeks ago. Been trying a few things to try to flash a new ROM on there, but I'm not having much luck and need advice. I was using my phone like I would any other time and all of a sudden the phone froze and restarted, but when it restarted it was taking forever to load back up (was just stuck at the HTC logo). I tried turning it off and on again and realized the thing was bootlooping on me. It wouldn't boot into system, download, recovery, nothing.
Now, here's the issue. My phone's S-ON and the bootloader is Locked. I've never done anything to the software on it before (but for some reason the software status is "Modified", which is weird. I did buy this phone used, so that could mean something, but I've never seen a modified software status on a bootloader that was not unlocked). The symptoms are pretty weird. I tried flashing the ROM using an official HTC RUU EXE, but the thing keeps saying that my phone is below 30%, and when I charge the phone it always starts charging at 22% (all the more reason I think the software is just completely kaputs). I found this thread where people were talking about the SD Card solution, but I'm quite sure the only way this would work is if my bootloader is unlocked.
So what do you guys think? Am I in a catch 22? Am I missing something? Any and all replies or questions would definitely help.
