Hi,
i got a strange problem with my S4 mini (I9195) with CM11 (20140505; snapshot M6).
On my device the clock in the status bar and the widget one stops working every now and then. This doesn't apply to the lockscreen-clock. If i rotate the screen, the clocks get updated and show the correct time - the clock keeps frozen though (it doesn't work further until the next screen-rotation).
I've got the date+clock set automatically via network. If i set it manually, the status bar clock gets updated, but not the widget (just unticking "auto set clock" is not enough, i have to "set clock".). Still, the clock won't keep working, it will just stay frozen till the next rotation.
I found already a few descriptions of this phenomenon on the internet, but nothing here on xda and no solution either.
Please, if anybody knows a solution, it would be most welcome.
regards,
d4foasta
if my problem isn't that difficult to solve or if i made some error i don't know it. Do i have to post logs? I came here because i have a problem with my s4 mini and i can't post in the developer-thread.

There was this issue in the s3 mini forum too, i think they said it's cm11 related.. you can check this thread for their solutions, some deleted a file etc. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521593
It's a very common problem there
Did you ever solve this? I'd rather not sift through 500 pages of comments to find the solution, I'm having the same issue.

Hi all,
I am new to SE and new to android ,the problem what i face is in desktop i have digital clock widget and it shows different time from the time set in settings and what displayed in top right corner , also when phone is locked when a key press is made i am able to see correct time.
i have unchecked automatic option in date & time settings.
how to solve this problem ?
Time in settings and top corner: 9:21
Time in digital clock widget : 3:51
Thanks in advance
that happened to me but it fixed it self so no idea
maybe you used a taskkiller and killed the app responsable for the widgets updates?
i didnt use task killer..any fix?
You haven't got it set to display a different time-zone do you?
sorry for late reply ....switched off and on fixed the problem
Hi,
I faced the same problem over the last few days... the clock just sometimes seems out of sync with the system clock. Pretty annoying.
Removing and re-adding the widget helps, but that's just a useless fuss.
I'm trying the reboot and see if it sticks now.
Regards,
cherryfish
Edit: just to make it clear, I'm using the digital clock widget that's on the Homescreen by default.
only get that problem with BobClockD3, no problem with another clock widget.
It also happened to me. I just reset the time and all will have same tume.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
So I have noticed that no the accuweather widget will update the temp and stuff fine, but will not update to my current location?
If I go in and manually add a location it will change to it, but then no matter where I go it stays on that location. I have tried looking at settings, tried deleting and re-adding it, and just does not seem to follow me.
Anyone have this problem? Any ideas.....
Assuming this can't be fixed I was thinking of using weather channel and that widget as I know it updates based on your location, but I am worried about battery drain. Besides I actually like the default weather on the phone, but it is a killer that it will not update. I travel a ton for work and don't want to add every location.
TIA
Have you tried removing the widget and adding it back? I've noticed some funkiness with widgets in general after flashing and/or restoring and that usually fixes things for me.
EDIT: and even though it should matter, try adding the widget back and updating the settings outside so it can get a GPS lock. It should be able to figure out where you are from the cell tower, but I've notice the GPS icon in the status bar when I was messing with the setting.

I tried doing that a bunch of times thinking it may help. It really doesn't seem to make any difference. I notice when I was playing with the weather channel widget every time I wake my phone up I see the gps icon for a few seconds. Wonder if that should happen with accuweather too? I have made sure that the Enable current location is on too.
Hmmmm so yours updates huh?
AccuWeather does not have that option! I know it sucks. Yea! You can only add the cities you want or go to

Really?? Then what the heck does the enable my location do. Says something like lets the widget track your location and update....something to that effect.
That sucks then. Anyone have any hood weather widget that updates?

You get a free Thanks. Clicking all sorts of wrong buttons today...
When I was using it, I had a problem once when it wasn't updating at all. Took me about a week to notice. Removed the widget and added it back in and it started back up fine. But I've switched back to Beautiful Widgets.
Added the Accuweather widget on my homescreen as a test. It was blank after I first dropped it on the screen so clicked on it. The first thing it asked me was if I wanted to use my Current Location and automatically filled it in. Exited out and after a few seconds everything populated.
Hi everyone
My clock just gets stuck randomly.
Now the mini clock in the notification bar says 23:36
My analog clock widget, 06:15
My lock screen, 06:02
Now, if I open the clock app tells me the real time (06:30) and the lock screen gets updated.
The widget must be removed and replaced and the top right clock is stuck at all.
What should I do? If I reboot after a bit this happens again.

Hello, you are advised to disable / uninstall your automatic task killer (which could come as installed application or script such as v6supercharger) as this problem is caused by your task killer killing system app which maintains your system clock.
I also encountered this problem twice - although i am not running any of those task killers / scripts.
I guess its a CM9 bug, quick googling gave the result that it happens on all kind of phones running CM9, here the S2 for example
As mentioned in the thread, setting the time manually might help. But as te problem is difficult to reproduce (and therefore proving a possible solution is also difficult), i will stay with automatic by now.
maybe you had just cleaned the ram, so many widget stops

same with me......
now i set my time automatically
same Problem with cm 10.1 on galaxy s3
How about going to your apps and deleting data and cache in the clock app? Did you try this already? I only experienced this one time after restoring a backup and only for a couple of secounds till it synced with my phone line, so also check if you allowed to set the time automatically.
Hi,
It´s been a little while since my last post here, and i noticed that Quarx´s CM10 thread is closed. So i´m creating this new thread to share this workaround.
I went to a long period without CM10, and now i gave it another try with the latest build of CM10 (20121118). But, everytime i "wake up" my phone, the statusbar is showing a wrong time.
I just installed a widget called "MIUI Dark Digital Weather Clock" and now my statusbar clock works without "lags". Maybe it works with any clock widget...
P.S.:This app is not mine, and i don´t know the developer.
I don´t know if i misused the search tool, but i didn´t see any post with a workaround for this issue. My only will is to help.

i know it's developed by a chinese Corporation called Xiaomi
Hi - I just set up a new S9 (AT&T). I installed my apps and went through some out of the box software updates so its now running 8.0.
Last night I noticed that when on my homescreen my Status Bar is now gone. It comes back if I open an app or go into the Apps drawer, but I cant see it from any page on my homescreen.
I can still swipe down from the top of the screen to get to the settings shortcuts, but I cant see Notifications, Battery, Signal, etc from any homescreen pages.
Its actually making me crazy - was hoping someone might have some thoughts on how to remedy this?
Thanks.
Hi after trying all morning I finally solved this - I found a lot of other posts outside XDA struggling with this issue so just wanted to update in case anyone else is having this problem.
I was using a picture as my wallpaper. For some reason this was making the bar invisible (or somehow the color changes to blend in to the background completely?). I changed to a Samsung stock wallpaper and it was visible again. I then changed back to set my picture as the wallpaper, and now the status bar is still visible...
Whatever - dont know why, but it worked!
