NOTES
Shorcut Virus
There are many available methods out there to overcome this, but some are difficult to use and most likely will only restore the files and folders, of which the system is already infected with the virus.
Depensa!
Not an antivirus solution and does not meant to be a replacement for antivirus software.
It prevent attacks that antivirus solution cannot fully detect, remove and restore.
IMPORTANT
Antivirus software and Depensa! are two complementary security layers and I recommended using both.
Depensa! works well and should run alongside antivirus software without any conflicts.
This looks very interesting. Will try it out and let you know how I get on. (Could be a while, have a lot of machines and OSs to try it on!)
Have you ever run it yourself in conjunction with Comodo Internet Security?
With all due respect for your work on this, is there any chance you could release the source code? Your account doesn't have a sufficiently developed reputation that I'm comfortable running an arbitrary EXE from the Internet on your say-so.
Also, I've never encountered the type of malware you're discussing; is it a regional thing?

Sorry, my codes are not for release. Yes, I dont have that reputation you're looking for, I am not a developer. --just a hobbyist or maybe a tinkerer having own personal projects. I just thought of sharing this and might help others suffering with the same problem.
Well, not really, but maintaining 15+ pc units and getting infected with the said malware is very annoying. Restricting the use of removable drives can be a better option though, but not in a public cafe where most of the user will be using it.
Thanks!

Little app used to download music on your pocket pc device.
Requires .net cf 2.0 available in most cooked and almost every WM 6.0 rom, should work on any device capable of installing .net cf 2.0
I wanted this app to use multiple music (or video) hosting sites, currently it only supports polish Wrzuta.pl (wrzutalib by me), well there's a lot of different, also international music so I think you should enjoy it App is easily extendable and writing another library for another site would not be a problem. Has a lot of bugs and limitations, that's why it's not even 1.0. Should work via 3G connection, although I've only checked it via wi-fi and activesync. Not tested with proxy enabled or VPN's etc.
Be sure to create the folder: /Storage Card/Songloader or set other in Options.
Known bugs/limitations:
- For unknown reason third page of search in wrzutalib does not succeed (lasts forever)
- ABORT and PREVIEW functions in context menu, although available, do NOT work yet. Using them will crash the program and make your downloads fail.
- "Minimize" function ... forgot to implement
- No resuming after error.
- Downloading files with illegal characters in title will result in an error. However the program will not crash, just the particular download.
- Surely a lot more. Please report if found something different than this one.
- wrzutalib has only audio search implemented.
- wrzutalib does not display size for search items.

thanks for that nice app hope you success with this.
program renders slashes in files (ex: "blabla - blabla/blabla") as folder and crashes coz no such folders exist.
If you want this on Windows try: http://scilor.ac-host.net/grooveshark-downloader.html
hi kartam, have you done any more development on this app, works great, apart from the random crashes.
Great!!! Love it!!
Thanks for the great program. i would love to see you do a little bit more with it or at least help me and some other site to it.

Good news and a final breakthrough in getting a Compass App for Dell Venue Pro using the DVP's native COM dll (OurCOM.dll). This compass app was part of the EM App in DVP. All i did was extract the code out, clean it and put it as a seperate App.
Next target is the registry access with read and write..I'm excited.
Big thanks to Chris Walshie and others in this thread who got the native COM access working using reflection.
Have fun and let me know how it goes.
Note: You need to have a developer unlocked or chevron unlocked device to sideload this app.
***This app will only work on a Dell Venue Pro***.

You are awesome. Thank you!! Quick question for you, would it be possible to combine the working compass with the LG Scansearch app?
cant connect platform em. error on a focus...
Can i install it on htc phone ?
I tired to install it on my htd phone Error can not connect Platform EM...
If it's using a Dell-specific driver, then no, it won't work with other OEMs. You'd need some abstraction layer to provide a standard API for accessing the compass, and if WP7 had that we probably wouldn't need homebrew apps in order to access it. :-/

This is a Dell specific App. Uses Dell specific Native COM.
notified schapman about this development
I'm hesitant to write a quick story about it, although I could now...it's up to you notebook should I write a quick article for wmpu about this or wait till the registry is cracked
let me know in PM
Thanks for this app.
Is there companion calibration functionality somewhere? The compass readings are way off (about 90 degrees) on my phone.

Other than shaking the handset, there isn't any. I can add a setting to offset the result by a user entered number(both + and -). Not sure if that will help.
Any progress on the registry editing stuff? I'm happy to lend a hand. I have a couple of DVPS and a good knowledge of C# / Windows Phone Development
Hello when I start EM on the DVP I have a error cant connect platform EM, what now?

Currently using mango beta and i still cannot connect to hidden SSID. Whats the deal? will it be supported in final build... I like my wifis.
That's really because hidden SSIDs do not increase your security. They were never designed to be hidden. Here's a nice article about it:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/2865...hiding-your-wireless-ssid-really-more-secure/
EDIT: to clarify: I loathe hidden SSIDs. They are a pain to connect to and can possibly be a greater risk. They serve no purpose in my book.
I am not saying they do increase security, but the wifi at my work does not show the SSID and i do not have the ability to change that. Not sure why microsoft chooses to leave this out. Seems like such a simple thing to change.
There's an app for HTC devices to connect to hidden WiFi in the market place.
was, there isn´t anymore...
using samsung focus anyways... =(

Your two sentences contradict each other,
so a) should the OP shoot his admin or b) should MiSFiTs support it?

For the million time, Mango WILL support hidden SSID. Microsoft said it and Brandon Watson confirmed it.

Both, unfortunately. I have yet to see an AP which doesn't include the option to hide the SSID. As long as AP manufacturers allow such a functionality, even though it violates the standard, WiFi clients must support it.
The fact that SSID hiding should NEVER be used is a different matter altogether.

I use Omnia 7 with WP7 Engineering ROM from samfirmware and it support hidden SSID (maximum 3 hidden SSID)
I think the mango support it, but must be enabled by hardware vendor
What happened to the HTC app on the market place? When I saw it ages ago should of grabbed it there and then though I didn't need it at the time but I do now. Grrrrr.

Please remove the force IE8 tag from the site. It is making a lot of features go a bit crazy. The edit box cursor does not like to move over in some cases. Also IE9 keeps saying that it is blocking some javascript to prevent cross domain scripting. I think there is a rogue advertisement or something.

Why are you trolling? There is nothing wrong with Internet Explorer.
No seriously. I'm not trolling. I'm genuinely asking why you are still on IE. Is there a specific reason? i'm asking because basically every other browser is better (UI, user experience, security)wise.
Because from a security standpoint Internet Explorer 9 is safer than the other browsers. Do some research into SSL spoofing on firefox as well as cross site scripting attacks.
Alright! Another IE9 brother.
And we've sent this up the chain to our server admin.

Chrome? Too used to it already
I use IE mostly for compatibility, I know, sounds strange but most of the important sites I go to work best in IE.
Otherwise I use firefox which is nearly as good in that respect and better in others.
Chrome I found to be a huge resource hog, and Opera often fails to display pages properly, either getting the layout wrong or failing to show images hosted on my webserver used in my sig.
Although unlikely, our server admin is testing this right now to make sure it doesn't break any other versions of IE.

So I thought it may just be me but after getting a fee people to test it seems this site is trying to install malicious software when you visit and are not logged in (mobile device) I've included some screen shots as I think this is quite a big security breach with the amount of users here..

Isn't the while point if the forums to stop things like this? I sure as hell don't expect XDA DEVS to need to install this app on my own phone. I was under the assumption that developers could be trusted on here so why the need for this? Also a simple search on Google flags it as malware

Thank you for reporting this - this isn't something XDA itself is promoting but it is coming through one of our ad networks and we have been unable to track it down. Did it take you to the play store to install that App? Or did it download the APK directly?

I go that on a different site yesterday. Bad popup ad with no ability to click out of it. What happens when a site doesn't screen their advertisers, they get to look like idiots.
As a note, my bet is it's "Clean Master" as I'm seeing that same general popup without the virus warnings today.
I applied xda reconized contributer form last month . I got a reply including a link containing comments of my application reviewer . I just follow that link , but I get Notification from my antivirus about bug contents .

Sorry guys, but safety first.
I always thought that those were fake. They trick you into thinking that you have a virus , then the app you install to remove the virus is the actual virus. I just click those off
