I was having the same issue back a few days ago, just put the phone into safe mode..if it stops doing that it means its one of the apps installed is the problem. If not just try a factory reset.

Have you checked apps and sync settings for anything waking the device? Sometimes just a reboot can fix it.

Are you on ART and using another user account?

Sorry I meant if you're on ART do you have another user account?
I do have a first account, unused really with nothing running,... better battery stats shows me those services running, is that normal?

Reason I asked is because I have two user accounts and I had the same problem as you on ART.
For me it was Google Search was the culprit in my second account, even when I'm logged in my first and my N7.2 goes to sleep.
First account no problems whatsoever.
So revert to Dalvik. Everything is back to normal now. Besides on ART I lost quite a substantial amount of storage just for that slight increase in speed which I don't find necessary.
Fully charged again. Will switch back to dalvik and see what happens...

Wait till Google fixes it. It's a rather common issue.

I just fastbooted the whole 4.4 stock image and rooted again, loosing all data and stuff but seems like it fixed the issue. Couldn't figure the problem out anyway... at first I Judt fastbooted the system image hoping that would do something but it didn't

Since updating to 4.4.2 KitKat, my screen freezes often, especially when the screen shuts off and goes into the lock screen. In order to fix it, I have to take the battery out and put it back in for it to work properly until the next time. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there any way to fix it?

I would do a factory reset and a clean install. Might have been a bad download.

It was an OTA update. No downloading or flashing

Take out the battery and put it back in. If it tries to power on by itself you have a faulty power button.

Cool! If it begins to happen again, Odin flash the firmware and factory reset. If its software related this should take care of it.
Thanks, I will let u know what happens

I've noticed this on mine too. Often I just turn on Wi-Fi and then turn it off and it will work.

I had the same problem when I first got the phone. A factory reset fixed it for me.

It's a network issue
Try toggling data or airplane mode usually fixes
Does anyone know how to stop it from using gpa signals? It's using it in almost 20 minutes cycle and it also drains battery. How do you make it stop?

That's what I figured you did, just that mind never showed up there. Also I froze it and still get lots of GPS ping. In thinking it's the Google location setting.
