well this time i think its it. I bought a new phone so I tried to wipe my user data but some how my music and photos still stayed so I formatted the phone in the recovery menu. it made a backup by itself but that didnt work and my sd card is empty. The only way to fix it is the ruu(which i have), however , i cant connect my hone to my pc. It just wont show up, even in device manager, but it still charges. If my USB port is broken do you know where i can get a guide to fix it.

Hi guys, I recently bricked my HTC Desire. I was trying to flash the stock ROM and the battery fell out of the phone mid-way and now i can't do anything. I can't access bootloader, and when i turn it on i see a dark-grey screen with HTC in the middle and 4 exclamation marks in the corners. Is there any way this to be fixed. Thank you in advanced!

Download the 2.3 RUU:
http://www.htcdev.com/process/legal_download/152
Install HTC Sync, and try flashing the RUU.
Yh like abaaaabbbb says flash the 2.3gb ruu. The 4 /!\ in the corners is pretty much the same as ruu mode so only thing u can do is flash an ruu

Weird. Might be the cable malfunctioning. You'll want to check that.

Hello,
I used to have Viper rom installed but I wanted to go back to stock so I flashed stock RUU and ever since my phone doesn't detect it's connected to a pc : in stock rom I don't have the option to chose betwen MTP or PTP mode, in download or recovery mode fastboot doesn't see my device (and neither does adb in stock rom).
I already tried two differents usb cable and two different pc with the same results.
My device is S-OFF.
Thanks for you help

I'm a mac user but with windows under bootcamp the phone doesn't show up in device manager. The only thing that happens is that the phone begins to charge but that's the only thing. I also don't have any usb hub, the phone is connected directly to the computer.
Edit : even with your fastboot link it doesn't work
Edit2 : in bootloader mode only I now have the following message : unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)

I have the same issue since I have rooted my HTC 10. Today I found that in developer option there is an option choosing the usb setting. after selecting the MTP option the phone have connected to the pc.
Hope it helps with your problem too.

Thanks but I've also tried that and of course it still doesn't work.
I sent it back to after sales service through my operator.
I'm waiting for their answer and will update this thread if anyone faces the same problem
Edit : After a month of waiting I finally got back my HTC. It was a material issue, they had to change the motherboard to solve it.
So I can also confirm that even if you're S-OFF and have an unlocked bootloader HTC will still repair the phone for free.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help me !
Do the Pixel phone have a special driver or something? ADB recognizes the Pixel when powered on but when in recovery, it can't find any devices.

I would fire up a brand new virtual machine without any previous drivers installed.
Then install nothing but say, skipsoft and try again.
If you still have the same issue then it's possible you may have a physical issue with your USB port, USB-C on the phone or bad cable.
My 2012 Nexus 7 USB port charges fine but has a physical issue and the computer refuses to install the proper drivers for it.
