Galaxy Tab 3 Lite RECOVERY LOOP - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so I finally got a recovery installed on my tab 3 lite which was philz touch, worked perfect.
The problem I am having is that it keeps booting into recovery, what do I do to make it boot to the home screen?

Please can you tell us all steps by rooting The tab , and become your prob.
Was The rooting sucsesful, and you can Boot to The Rom, or comes this prob directly after flash The recovery and manuell booting Into The recovery?
Have you install The Quickboot APP?

After I flash the recovery it Is only booting to recovery, it won't allow Me to do Anything else
EDIT: I fixed it, just reflashed it to stock then flashed recovery and gained root access with universal root!

I flashed the latest 4.2.2 firmware through odin, because it was recovery looping, I have the link for the firmware if you want it.
I then flashed philz touch cwm through odin also, after that I installed the universal root through cwm and boom, it works

Issue flashing CWM recovery

Hey guys,
So I just rooted my rogers galaxy s3 and I'm trying to install CWM recovery. My phone isnt on the ROM manager list so I tried flashing it through odin. I've tried about 7 times each with different versions of cwm recovery and odin keeps saying it was a success but whenever I try to go into recovery mode I just go to android system recovery and not CWM recovery. I have no clue why this is happening.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Zach

Btw i dunno why its not working it worked for me.. but i switched cuz CWM SUCKS get twrp bruh its touch and everything and it tells you how much battery you have while flashing...
Download goomanager off playstore... download some random rom (you dont need to flash the rom its only so it gives u the link to the open recovery) you will be asked if you have a recovery installed say no install open recovery they install TWRP on your phone done.. happy flashing

Had the same problems, follow this guide use the latest versions of everything (Odin, etc.). The key is the pulling of the battery after flashing and before you boot. Once I did that I got into CWM no problem.

Yeah I ended up installing TWRP, and I flashed this rom:

Good so far!
This is probably the same issue i was having where the stock recovery kept coming back. You will need to rename or delete these two files.

Same issue here on the Telus T989D. Any solutions without using cwm?
You can always try the manual method if your brave and familiar with the terminal. Go to Team Win's for our phone here: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/101. Download the .IMG file and follow the instructions under Download - Recovery Image Method (using dd): Not hard but doublecheck your typing before hitting enter or you'll brick your phone.
I'm not responsible for any actions taken because of this post. Good Luck, its worth it in the long run.

One small problem with that.....
Hi guys. I'm having a somewhat similar issue, but it's a little more problematic than that. I was in mid-flash when I unfortunately learned that any attempt to work with the cache resulted in an immediate freeze-up. From what little of the log I've seen, it's trying to tell me that the cache partition is read-only. Any attempt to unmount, wipe, or work with the cache in any way will result in an immediate lock up. This is *after* wiping the system and data partitions. I have been able to get TWRP to start correctly twice in the last 40 times I've tried to boot up the phone.
Question: I noticed that TWRP has a button where you can enter a terminal command. I don't have adb set up yet on this machine, since reloading it. I would imagine the answer would be 'no', but is it possible to put a different recovery image on the sd card, then use TWRP's terminal button to issue the command to flash it, or would that make matters worse? Or am I going to have to set up adb and odin again on another machine and use that? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Side note: I should've stayed with CWM non-touch. :crying:
This worked for me:
reflash CWM, flash superwipe, install TWRP through goomanager.
i had the same problem on my t989 and this odin flashed version posted here worked fine

EDIT: Wow I guess I didnt read the critical part where your stuck on the recovery boot screen so the attachment below wont help.... JUMP DOWN TO POST #21 AND FOLLOW IT TO RECTIFY THE GETTING STUCK ISSUE
Here, try this file guys. Someone over in the Jedi threads made a CWM flashable TWRP zip. You can thank me for bringing it to your attention if you want, but I did not create this ( I just clicked on the attachment paperclip for the thread and browsed through all the attachments because I knew I saw it somewhere in the development section...)
I also checked TWRP's own website and for the Hercules, v.2.3.1.1 is the latest version supported for our device so far but I only found 2.3.0.0 packed in a recovery flashable form.
Just flash it via CWM like any other zip and once its done it'll reboot your device automatically to system, so just reboot it back to recovery to make sure it worked. It did for me when I did awhile back with v.2.2.2.0 and I just used the below file to flash and update it in TWRP to v.2.3.0.0
Hope it helps

If you have either I guess it doesn't really matter. Just install/flash the attached file below just like you would any other rom via your recovery.
After it installs reboot back into recovery and you will see the old recovery replaced with the latest TWRP for the T989.
Lemme know if this works for ya.

[Q] Can't root or do anything, Help!

Hey guys,
I had a rooted Galaxy Wonder with a custom Rom (TouchWiz, forgot which version). I had CWM 5 and wanted to Install CWM 6 so I can be able to get the Kitkat 4.4 Rom, but unfortunately I soft bricked it. I flashed a custom Rom using Odin 4.43 Multi Downloader and it successfully passed, but with a problem, it doesn't get to the Homescreen and it keeps of rebooting itself all over again. I can get to download mode and to stock recovery. So I thought I could maybe root it again and install CWM 6 to flash the rom.
Now the problem is that when I use the stock recovery (by Holding Vol Up+Home+Power) I don't get to install the root update.zip because it reboots itself after I press the menu button (it writes something about updating then reboots).
What can I do? Is there anyway to Root the device via Odin and install CWM 6 so I can flash a custom rom?
Help!
Thanks in advance!

You don't need to root it again since it's already rooted (when you first installed TouchWiz) and it's not the cause i think.

I think your phone is still rooted that's why your having that problem.
So, your problem is that, you believed your phone is not rooted anymore?

Well, I didn't know if it is rooted or not and I don't know how to flash Cwm 6 and I can't use the phone normally since it is not able to turn on to the Homescreen.
Don't mind the older custom Rom, it was flashed successfully and I used it for more than 3 months.

Stock, but can't do anything in it. this might be the cause, so we need do clean wipe of all the data/ files in your internal storage. We need to make it boot first since it's not just a recovery problem but ROM.
Do you still have the touchwiz rom in your external sd-card? If it's still there, do this steps in cmw:
select "wipe data / factory reset"
go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
under the same menu, format /sdcard0 (be careful NOT to format /sdcard1 by mistake)
install touchwiz
reboot

Not only you, many other users like us got the same problem.
When we install CWM using Odin with Auto-Reboot turned on, it says pass and reboots the phone. But when we go to the recovery mode, the Stock recovery is still present there.
Secondly, when we try installing CWM using Odin with Auto-Reboot unchecked, the phone freezes on the downloading screen after downloading it, so we have to remove the battery, put it back inside, and go to the recovery. At that time we can see CWM recovery, but when we reboots system and then later when we have to come back to recovery more, the stock recovery pops up again.
This kind of problems are being faced by many Samsung Galaxy Grand duos GT-19082 users.
It would be really appreciated if someone knows the solution and could help us.
Thanks!

stuck in recovery mode

I have a Samsung galaxy tab 3 light it also has TWRP recovery.
After installing this app: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=phongit.quickreboot&hl=en
and using it to boot into recovery, I am now stuck recovery boot loop,I can however still get into download mode.
I also do not have a customer rom or custom kernel installed.
I tried using backups that I have, wiping cash, and even entering strings of code in terminal that I found on forums that said it would work, and none of it seems to work.
I do not care about keeping any data that's on there I just want to get out of the loop.
P.s please keep in mind that I am extremely new to android, as well as this form.

The onlyest way is flash STOCK with Odin.
If you want root, flash PhilzTouch with Odin, after flash Boot directly with Power ,Volume+ and Home button into Recovery and flash The SuperSu.ZIP V1.94
After that install The supersu.APP from playstore and update The supersu.
This way was working by me.
