How do I keep idle apps on lock screen. For example pocket cast. I listen to podcast and if its done playing will eventually not be on lock screen. Or if i have app running and not playing it will not show when I lock the screen. I would like to have pocketcast on lockscreen even if im not playing it at that moment.

The very first time I used my phone when the screen was locked I was able to get the music controls to come up with above the pattern. Now I can only get it to work by sliding down the notification panel which is an extra step that can be a little annoying when working out or driving. I searched and couldn't find any solutions and was wondering if anyone knew. I normally use google music, but I don't mind the samsung player.
And is the screen timeout function buggy? I have mine set to ten minutes and sometimes it'll stay on and sometimes it'll timeout after a couple minutes which is also a nuisance since I generally like to keep my screen on when I'm driving or exercising so I can stay focused.

what ROM are you running or are you stock rooted/unrooted?
Stock.
the music control feature on the lock screen was not included in the 4.1.1 release. you probably saw it before you updated and are not seeing it now. how recently did you update? moving to 4.1.1 is probably also related to your screen timeout issue.
Don't have a live wallpaper for lock screen. Controls will shows when static wallpaper is set for lock. Try Google play if stock music player does not show.

I have been using Cover which I quite like, but it's quite unstable and is no longer being developed.
Has anyone another Lock Screen to recommend with the ability to take on 6 or so short cuts and put the Play Music controls on top so you don't have to actually unlock to skip songs?
Has anyone else run into the issue of your music widget not displayed (while playing) on the lock screen?
Whenever I've actively been playing music via Google Play Music (on S2, S4, and S5) I've had access to the widget on the lock screen to skip, pause, etc.
Currently, I don't have access on the S6. I've also tried doing a factory reset and still no luck.
Anyone have any on the fix?
If you're using a lock like a pin, pattern or fingerprint, you need to allow all notifications to be seen on the lock screen. If you have them blocked or set to only show which apps have notifications waiting, you won't get the widget on the lock screen.
Man, if anyone could tell me how to get rid of the Lock Screen media controls that would be great.
I have the widget turned off in Lock Screen, and in AOD. I have the media playback control feature turned on in the notifications drop down. Force closing Amazon music makes it go away for a few minutes, then sure enough its back. Anyone on the Beta figure out how to get rid of it?
Running android 11 on my Samsung s20+. When I running waze I usually turn off the display when I am on the highway to save battery. When I tap to wake up the screen it always starts from the lock screen. Even if I have my bluetooth paired and added as trusted device, I can never get waze to stay on top.
How can I make sure waze stays on top and bypasses the annoying lock screen. In Waze pref I already have stay on top set.
i was having this similar issues. from what i was told theres no way to turn off the lock screen.. therefore theres no way to have an app overcede the lockscreen. if someone has a way id like to know as well.

In the secure lock settings, there is a setting "lock instantly with side key" unchecking this stop the auto lock.
