I'm looking for an extended battery for the sgy of my Girlfriend. I have also the choice to solder two stock batteries together (parallel). But than I'll have a problem with the battery cover. Is there anyone with experiences in extended battery (not external) from sgy? Or is there anybody with experiences in soldering li-ion batteries together?

What do you mean? I've not jet built my own double sized extended battery, but I want to.
There are no extended 3000mAh batteries for SGY. So I have to buy two 1500mAh. These I'll solder together parallel, so I'll get a 3000mAh battery and build a custom battery cover

I think you should be carefull since the circuit only tolerate up to 2000mA current.

Why? The discharge load is the same, but the battery can support longer the discharge load (mA) at 3,6-3,7 Volts. So I dont put more mA in the circuit, just able to do it longer.

They give more voltage if you put them in series, but if you put the in parallel they give more amperes
Connecting two batteries in parallel should do the trick but it would take time to recharge the battery. How were you able to create a custom back cover? can you show it to us?
on ebay you find a 10 EURO 1500 mAh batt pack , and a 2800 mAh pack for 15 EURO.

I got meself one of 'em at 10 EUROs.
it has got a Samsung + mini USB socket to charge it. if stuck into SGY, the bottom face is flush with SGY bottom cover.
at 15 EUROs one gets same thing with 2700 mAh of juice. These things are less hassle than changing batteries.

Yea but the Device just takes what it needs. So two batteries (1100mA) results (2200mA). The phone takes what it needs (1000mA in a hour may be) so it takes 2,2 hours instead of 1,1 hour until the juice is out

Actually there are..Gold 3500mAh Business battery..stock size..check this or this..
Others are Mugen Power 5400mAh, Hyperion etc..which increases the phone thinkness..more info about these here & here..

word of caution - unless sth changed since the time I bought mine - the Gold 3500 battery capacity is around the stock 2500mAh,

I'm started to using Sun Global 3000 mAh battery since my ori battery get pregnant last month,
It can last a bit longer than samsung ori battery. I got up to 5hour screen on time with 3G on, some browsing and Most of the time with high graphic Gaming! Samsung ori battery only able to give me around 3 hour and half only.
Sorry to say it, but comparison based on daily usage is not reliable, because no two days are identical in terms of usage and phone signal.
IMO, the only way to compare batteries without special equipment, is to measure the run time in comparable conditions, e.g continuous video playback of the same movie with all possible phone features switched off (no sync, no gps, plane mode etc.), preferably with minimal backlight (longer measurement time provides cleaner results)
ampere rating
Shouldn't we check the ampere rating? Some high capacity batteries are known for bad current.

Just bought a Sun Global 3000mAh battery yesterday. So far it seems to be holding superior than the original.
FYI, I am using Nova Battery Tester and currently running the test. I will update the results once it's completed.
For the time being you can refer to the attached picture, it shows that after 8 hours of usage, I still have 56% battery left.
Finished the test, here's the result.
Apparently the mAh claimed by Sun Global is not the actual mAh. What I got from this test is only 2541 mAh... which is slightly better than the original.

I'm also using this battery, but never achieve 5hr screen on time. Maximum also 4hr only. 5hr doesn't seem possible for me.
Can I use a 3500mAh or a 2450mAh battery on my phone? Are there any problems or risk?

No risks, as in, no. You can't do any damage to your phone by putting in a new battery. Problems though would be that you need to make sure the battery comes with a new back cover, as due to the increased battery size, the stock cover will no longer fit. :good:

Ah.. The 2450 mAh battery is identical to the original, the 3500 mAh is largest than the original and is including a new cover.
But I choose 2450 mAh, because i wouldn't chance my phone's size.

You can use any size mah in a battery and it will be fine, the only thing you should worry about is over heating because with a bigger capacity battery which means it can run longer it could make the phone warm or hot, if you feel it getting warm take the battery out or turn the phone and let it cool off. You could use a 5000 mah and you would be fine, as long as the voltage output is correct to the phones specs then you should be good! Hope thus helps!

There is no problem in adding a battery with more charge holding capacity. But the quality of the battrry matters a lot. The output the battery deliver should be as specific for the device. A sub standard battery may result in over heating, explosion or eventually burn your mother board. So the fact is choose the battery after going through reviews.
The gold battery you might have seen, does not provide any assurance in quality.

Look for Wh and V printed on the battery.
mAh = Wh × 1000 / V
Example:Samsung Galaxy S3: 3.8 V 7.98 Wh7.98Wh × 1000 / 3.8V = 2100mAh
Looks too good to be true.However,it might be real,considering that the charging time is 5 hours.I believe this is a protection measure to not overheat the battery,after all it's not an original one.However,I don't understand how are they going to limit the current which enters the battery as that's dictated by the micro controller in the phone.In my opinion,after couple of months of usage,it will broke.
However,if you decide to buy it try to use it only when you don't need the phone too much,so the phone doesn't heat up a lot.I believe heating it up too much might cause the battery to swell and worst case scenario,it will blow up.

Got the HSA 3600mah battery today from aliexpress. Have attached some screenshots.
Inserted the battery into phone. It fit perfectly and charging it now.
Please suggest some android app that displays the correct battery information. So that we can validate what i received from HSA.
Will also update the charging hours it took and how long one full charge lasted for me with HSA battery in the coming days.

How much did you pay it finally ?
As i checked in the Aliexpress they are charging too much for delivery , so did you choose any particular vendor ?
And finally keep posted abt the performance of the battery
it was free shipping only... as previously mentioned paid only 595.
I am not able to find any app that displays the correct mah of the battery.
Its getting charged in 5hrs using redmi charger...
Got an usage time of more than 24hrs.. which i was already getting in my stock xiaomi battery... with dual sim, data and Wi-Fi usage.
So i guess the battery is similar to the stock one given by Xiaomi.
Should try konpson next as suggested by deepak kumar android.

You can use "AIDA" to see battery information, also "Ampere" is good enough to show battery information like ~Input Current, Output Current etc.
Used AIDA app as suggested.

The battery for redmi 1s (BM41) its 2050 mah and is same size as the battery for redmi 2 (bm44) 2200 mah.
