U can use greenify, seeder, pimp my rom apps & some scripts
But root required
Sent from my MT11i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
disable system app
Try to disable all apps related to Timescape
It can free up some ram
Use Greenify, you can get it from Play Store.
You can install stock ICS based custom ROMs.
Avoid using task killers.
Remove unnecessary system apps, with file explorer (ES File Explorer for example) or via another app (Titanium Backup). List of apps with explanation - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089470
This has improved performance on stock ICS as well. Quoted from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2372363
1 ** uncheck ( Force gpu rendering ) in setting -> developers options if it is checked .
2 ** download DisableService app :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eservice&hl=fr
And go to system apps -> systemUI -> LoadAverageServices and then disable it .

Like What Scripts?
To speed up the UI, you can also disable animation.
Turn off:
Settings--> Developer -->Window animation scale
and
Settings--> Developer -->Transition animation scale
Best way to speed up phone is to delete system apps with Titanium backup (when rooted phone) and free up space. Other apps will run much faster, battery life will increase, etc... You can find list of apps that you can safely remove, here on xda, just search.
hi bye

thanks for the swift reply=) i want to freeze them too... if the arc's internal memory is big. Prob is xperia arc's internal memory is pathetic. Only 300mb=(
With most big apps movable to sd I don't have problems with that...

you can move any app to the sd with titanium backup, so let the internal memory be, only the apps that need to be available all the time, or if you need widgets to function then you need to keep that app installed in internal memory, otherwise move everything to sd, even the ones that cant be moved by default.

And before updating we have to unfreeze them and are ready to update?
Some apps are always running which starts to annoy me and don't want to lose the ability to keep root and do OTA updates.

just remove them, i removed a lot of bloatware and pc companion & seus are still working. (and if they don't you can always use the flashtool)
I have seen some people have managed to removed built in applications (after rooting phone). I would like to do it too on my xperia Arc s so does anyone how to do it? Thanx in advance...
You can use titanium backup or root explorer.
Titanium is better as it will remove the icons etc.
Recommend you backup 1st before remove incase you need them.
This should be in q&a

Y U NO USE AppMan?
It is free and tells you which apps can be safely removed... plus if you want them back you can directly download and install them using the same app.
Original thread here.
I see what you did there! Thanx!

My Bad. But Root Explorer is best.
There is a new file manager out there called solid explorer, in Landscape mode you can 2 directory lists, and can just about do anything root explorer can do too.
Its worth a try anyhow as I couldn't get into root explorer.. me too noob

Assuming that you are using windows
Use debloater, titanium backup or root uninstaller from market.
Ofcause u need root to remove system apps or just freeze them, same result
U don't need all 3.one will do
Here is the best solution:

Hello!
I'm using JJ's Hybrid ROM and I am really enjoying it, very smooth. My only problem is the amount of ram I can free :\ at the moment the most free ram I can get is 155mb is this normal? My phone is now finding it hard to play 3d games without crashing and I am wondering if you have any tips of how to free ram
Sent from my Arc S with JJ's ROM installed + stock kernel.
1) download task killer pro from the playstore install it and change it's settings to kill apps as soon as the screen is turned off
2)create partition on your sd card and install link2sd that will transfer your apps and processes from inbuilt storage to sd card..
3)the crashing must be due to the amount of cache(correct me if i am wrong)hence download cache2sd and install it
4)freeze unwanted apps from link2sd
hit thans if i helped

1) Doesn't help. Certain apps start themselves automatically again and then task killer kills again and they start again etc. Starting an app uses more battery than leaving it running, so using task killer results in low battery life. Leave all the taskkilling to Android itself and use V6 Supercharger.
2) That has nothing to do with RAM.
3) Crashing is due to amount of cache? How can that affect it? Besides, reading cache from SD is a lot slower than from internal memory.
4) That will help indeed. Make sure not to freeze required system apps.

It's fairly straightforward, jj's rom should already have the modded jar, just download the script and run it with script manager. Option 6(512mb)should be ideal.

Thanks I just ran v6 supercharger but I didn't really understand it apart from when I set the min free numbers... (I selected option 6 )
It hasn't really changed anything and the amount of free ram I can have hasn't increased :/ is there Anything else you could suggest?

Guys i need help needed to remove bloatware...
As far i understand BLOATWARE are system apps...
I want to delete Sony Music etc, etc, etc...
I followed this thread to deodex and remove bloatware..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535429
DEODEX was successful.. The installation of DEBLOAT was also successful
However I dont know which is the right app or right method to remove BLOATWARE..
On google play i found this..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lukemovement.bloatwarefreezer.free&hl=en
But that would just freeze that app...
I understand freezing is better than uninstalling !
And also I have already installed Greenify.. So is there a necessity now to uninstall BLOATWARE apps..
In apps menu if i select Uninstall, I get an option to delete only downloaded apps, I cannot uninstall system apps from there
FIXED: Went to Settings > Apps > All > Clicked on the APP name > Selected Disable
I just delete the .apk and .odex files from /system/app. Just be careful what you delete.
This message was brought to you from my Sony Xperia M C1905 using Tapatalk.
Or you can use Titanium Backup. I used it to uninstall stuff from my wife's device.
Don't remember what all apps were removed. I can look up and tell you if it is needed.

Better install root explorer,
Explore the system/app and carefully select the apps you wanna remove.
P.s - unlocked bootloader and full root is required.

Well, it's just a recommendation to have unlocked bootloader with full root.
